Over all the years and all the artists we've lost, I never once cried. I mean, I didn't know any of them personally. Sure, I was shocked when Pac and Biggie died. I was sad when Mac Dre died. It was a tragedy when Prince died. But today, when I heard that Shock had passed, I cried immediately. RIP to one of the greatest (and most underappreciated) players in the music game.
@Cadillac Kadafi he has mentioned veganism or being a vegetarian but he did drink, smoke, and do drugs, unfortunately. He has indirectly hinted to it in a few other past videos, but he never says he was high - he refers to it as being drunk so idk. Though he had struggles, like we all do, he was still an amazing man and possessed a young soul and still looked so good.
He was so talented I watched this before....and had to watch it again after his passing to remind me how dope and talented\creative he was.... LONG LIVE SHOCK-G....RIP💯🙏🏾🙏🏾
Oh man. I don't cry over people I've never met... But Shock was such a sweet soul. That little improv song at the end finally got me. "I'm so glad we had this time together, to have a laugh, or sing a song.. It seems we just get started, and before you know it, comes the time we have to say so long." Love you, Shock. Rest well. 💚
@@vickiemckay4259 AGREED!! Girl, I’m having a hard time with His passing. I can’t stop thinking of his presence, or stop singing his music…… He was a beautiful soul.
Love this video. It gives us an intimate look at Shock G's home. We get to look in his closet and kitchen and he tells great stories about his artwork too.
I would've really loved to meet Shock G. Such a beautiful free spirit. Just beautiful and carefree. Not giving a damn but giving a damn! I love it. How I wish I could be all the time. This was a treasure and treat to watch.
Greg, Shock G, The piano man, Humpty, DU Mastermind, MC Blowfish, Peanut Hakeem, .....did his thang. He left his mark, while lifting the game. A talented genius who is loved and will be missed. My condolences goes out to his family and all who love him. Nice video captured.
This was the best interview of Gregory Jacobs and his alter egos I've ever seen!!! He had a lovely home and seemed so I tuned with nature. He was really a phenomenal human being. He will be sorely missed but his legacy will live on forever and ever.
It is beyond AMAZING just what this video LAYS down!! Talent, GENIUS & LEGEND; Anyone could argue other but damn!!! I'm pissed I didn't see this sooner! The world lost a BEAST! What he brought to music and life in general is beautiful to see! Mr. Jacob's wanted to dance, bang keys & ryme and He did so in such an effortless manner with mind numbing precision it's almost scary! In a time where people dancing, having fun and all without having to tell us how much of a badass he was. Without profanity too. That was about the opposite end of where the market was selling. Almost out of the gate they put out one of the best songs to dance too that's been made in about 30 years. His genius is to be nothing but respected and celebrated! We love and miss you KING! R.I.Paradise! You HAVE earned that!
Love u shock, since I listened to Sex Packets when I was 13... That sound drove me to the P and now my heart will live there, I feel close to your spirit, BE YOU !
Wow when was this made? I never knew about this and he mentions me 😭 We lost touch and seeing his home brings back so many memories. Thank you for sharing ❤️💕
Yayyee!! Thanx all of u, and the many P-Funk, 2Pac, d.u., Murs, Luniz, Saafir, Raw Fusion & Mystic fans! - - Now, just dont lettem send us to the moon!!! Lol - - Sincerely, - Humpty Hump
Hey Shock! It’s your old friend Hodge from Baltimore. I’m not sure if you remember, but back in like 2003 I conducted this really well received interview with you for the now defunct site milenko500.com. We actually met up a few times when you were on tour, and due to some of our mutual music connections, even remained in contact for a few years via email. Me, you, and Scarub even nearly got this racist waiter fired from the Paper Moon diner, for not wanting to take Scarub’s order. You somehow turned it into a teachable moment for everybody in the restaurant though, and even had people laughing in the end. But yo, I’ve been steadily composing a list of interview questions for a follow up interview for you for a minute now. It’d be a bucket list goal if you would allow me that honor again my friend. In case none of this is ringing a bell, and I know it’s been many years and many miles in between, but here’s a link to our old interview- prince.org/msg/8/103525 . I still conduct interviews on occasion (www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2017/1224/635256/punk-rocker-talks-almost-getting-beat-up-backstage-by-randy/ ) and I’d love to pick your brain one more time. I’m glad to see your still doin well and still maintain that unfuckwitable spirit. Please feel free to contact me at hodgemirage@gmail.com . It would be my great honor, again- Hodge
Hey bro do you have the rest of the footage for this video? Would love to see the parts that didn’t make it. I’m on one of the songs he played on here. Thank you for this video it made my day reminiscing and watching.
The track Arguin’ on the Funk is genius. There’s no way you would think that’s not two different people talking to each other. The end of the conversation, you hear Humpty walking away admitting Shock was right- “that it’s most of that”. My 15 year old brain never doubted the two existed. Apparently Kurt Loder from MTV interviewed DU at their concert and asked Shock where Humpy was.
Thank you 🙏 for capturing this beautiful day with the legend himself, and sharing with us. I love this walk with him. 💝💕🥰 You have my deepest sympathy 🫂 💐
With this video, you've done a great service for many of us who did not know Humpty/Shock G/Piano Man personally, but were huge fans of Digital Underground. Thank you. ✌🏾

I've been saying since the mid 90s. Shock is the most talented and most underrated person in the history of Hip Hop
