OMG! whilst plasticity 2.0 Studio is only a few hundred US dollars to get this wonderful surfacing technology, what's important to know and appreciate is that it takes quite a few thousand of hours of practice to get really good at something. KS is this only this good because of the dedication and commitment to his skill that has probably taken at least a decade to acquire probably in a professional studio. If I'm wrong, i'd be very much surprised. Having said that, clearly what now can be achieved in Plasticity 2.0 Studio is STUNNING!

If you slow down the videos and really look at what he's doing, you'll quickly see that a lot of what he's doing is based on trial and error. In reality that's just what most of us do. He's good at modeling, but no genius at it.

Glad i bought a studio license a few months ago. I didn't mind doing it the "old" way of setting up primary quads through clean lofts and then trimming and blending, but seeing how well xnurbs can handle more complex surfaces is going to be great to try. I've got access to beta, but I'll rewatch your videos a few times and wait for it to come to stable.

@@MIchaelSybi Yes, but that's not a Plasticity fault - it's very much in all CAD software. i use another software that's also Parasolid one version off the latest parasolid release. If I put a sketch plane on a face that has a fillet applied on another intersecting splines face, any intersecting face that produces a trace edge out of the sketch plane causes MASSIVE computational maths that freezes the pc. as KS says...do the filleting and tiny small blends LAST! CAD is single thread processor dependent. You may have a bang upto date pc but it's only 2 x faster than my 10 year old pc for most CAD tasks.

This is just my opinion and I'm sure many fans of KS out there will be a little upset, but his videos present problems. For example, without knowing how he's customized hotkeys, he's difficult to follow due to its speed and slowing it down doesn't help much. Most good instructors of 3D modeling will tell you what's going on as they model and not leave you in the dark. Personally I'm really over these silent videos that leave you to figure out for yourself what the hell is going on and why the person is modeling a specific way and what problems that arise as they model and need to be resolved. While the creation of a car shell is interesting, a car model is, as we all know, far more complex than just a shell. I'm not criticizing his obvious skills, but really he's not good at imparting his knowledge, in fact silence makes a pretty replacement for the human voice. Isn't a tutorial video supposed to impart knowledge and not just show you how skilled the person is? He rebuilds several parts of the car shell and while it's sometimes clear, due to shading problems, why he does that, at other times it isn't. This update looks exciting, but this video leaves me a little frustrated.

OK now I stop to make Videos about plasticity....just kidding ;-) William Vaughan from Pixel Fondue and
Nikita Kapustin are the persons who often translate my knowhow in real learning tutorials, both thanked to me to share my knowhow. William Vaughan via Discord and Nikita Kapustin thanked me even per PM that he have learned very much through my videos. He told me, he lerned to build very complex face helmet, with my Ironman Helmet Video, for example. Nikita Kapustin is a professional seller of courses, his maingoal is, to earn money with teaching. My youtube Channel is very old, it has never had a monetization, my patreon has only one selling member and I understand this and this is OK, because my maingoal is not to earn money with it. The only case I get a bit money now, is the "plasticity-affiliate link" maybe (75-150 dollar a month, wtihout taxes). Maybe I use this knowhow later to earn money with it some day, but I have fun to show people, what is possible with budget-mini-CAD software. Over the last 8 years with Moi3D, now more an more with plasticity. Now where plasticity is popular, more People visit my channel, back in the days with Moi3d it had less interest. Plasticity and Moi3D are 90% a hobby of me. Maybe 10% I use it in my real Job as a normal 3D Artist. My maintools are 3dsmax, Cinema4D, Afx, Mentalray, Vray, Octane and now often Unreal 5. If I would be a professional "only CAD Engineer", who earn money with it, then would buy Alias, SiemensNX or Solidworks, and then I would never share my holy knowhow.

The X-nurbs implementation won't be the only added functionality for v2. KS has been modelling using the surfacing tools from even before version 1 of official Plasticity to buy. NK has been always mentioned Plasticity as a good tool for product designers using surfacing. NK discussed why Plasticity was going to use Parasolid ( because of world class surfacing) whilst he was talking about what modeling kernal to use. Isn't the price for Plasticity 2.0 Indie licence only 150 USD anyway - sure that won't come with X-Nurbs...do asset creation artists actually need X-nurbs? iI's your choice at this moment what to buy. There will be other general purpose tools in v2 as well or why would most v1 users upgrade ! Better wait until the new v2 release promo's for ALL the information.
