That’s the problem, electric cars are all reserved for luxury buyers, I don’t wanna spend 40k for a base model electric car that looks weird and has no range, I could buy a bunch of top trim gas powered cars for that money.
After four months of waiting, which compared to Tesla is a blink of an eye, I picked up my Mercedes EQS 450+ yesterday and I've got to say that it is by far the best car I have ever had the opportunity to drive. The way it drives alone on the motorway is stunning, the level of detailing regarding both the technology, the interior and the exterior is absolutely fantastic. Mercedes really thought of everything when designing and producing this car. Driving it is a truly unique experience. I didn't have the chance to explore all the functionalities, but my favourite so far are the Parking Assistant, Intelligent Recuperation supported by an amazing AI and all the cameras at your disposal while driving in reverse or parking the car. It is a huge car though and you've got to adapt to the size. When leaving the garage at the car dealership, I had the feeling I was driving a bus rather than a car. My previous car was a Toyota C-HR so the change is quite big. Anyhow, even if it is a stunning piece of art and power, make sure to go for a test drive to check whether this would be something that would appeal to you. In my case, I fell in love with it as soon as I sat in it and turned it on back in February.
Hm my model s i ordered last month should be here end of july Definitely faster than 4 months!.. And i understand its for aerodynamics but the EQS has one of the most hideous front ends ive ever seen on a car.. Just too goofy for 100k+ vehicle D: i love the back though Beauty in the eye of the beholder tho hehe 5.9 0-60 is also disapointing considering model S base model is 3.1 0-60 :( EQS interior definitely wins it tho heh!
@@adams1696 I am with you on the front end... It is not as appealing as it could have been. As for 0-60, this wasn't one of the criteria which I considered when buying it. The range of approx. 473 miles with a single charging while having multiple electricity-draining options on such as seat massage or the crazy interior lights was one of the main reasons as to why I went for EQS 450+. There is the EQS AMG version with a slightly smaller range (approx. 410 miles) but more horsepower and is 3.3 0-60. I gave Tesla a go too and was really impressed. It was the first electric car I have ever driven. However, my enthusiasm faded after driving around the block with EQS. To me, Tesla suddenly felt more like a gadget than a proper car. And with all the troubles Tesla is going through at this point (supply chain, faulty vehicles etc.), I didn't wanna risk it. Interestingly, I've put my name on the list for the new Tesla S model back in January and there are still no updates as to pricing or delivery. I live in Europe, and Tesla's main market is the US so it may be that their goal is to meet the demand in the US first and then move over to other markets.
@@jacobkennedy8336 Thanks :-D I've been playing lottery for a couple years now and lady luck still hasn't smiled to me... As for my good old C-HR, it wasn't as easy to say goodbye to it. It was my first car. Sounds crazy, I know, but I couldn't help myself.
As i always said to feel the difference between a Mercedes and other Brands you have to drive it so you can feel how over thought their cars are. Good to read that you made a right choice. Wish you a lot more Fun with this beautiful car.
Great review Lynn. If one can afford this EV then they can afford to buy an extended warranty because it will be costly to repair/replace all the electronic equipment that comes with this great looking vehicle.
32k with 58k miles CPO now, absolute bargain, Edmonds got over 400 mi range. Depreciation is your friend in one of these as is an extended warranty for all the tech
I have four Mercedes Benz dealers in my area. I haven't seen a Lucid dealer anywhere. Lucid lets you bake under their glass roof while the one on the EQS opens for fresh air and also has a motorized screen for shade. Four wheel steering? Not from Lucid. How about Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM radio. You will find that on the EQS but not with Lucid. If you can afford it, the EQS is the pinnacle of electric car luxury.
Very nice review! Thank you. I own a Tesla Model 3 and I must say the shape of this EQS is very similar, if scaled up. Lovely car; wish I could afford it!
I love how futuristic this looks. I'm not a fan of the jutting out in the front, it looks like the car has an underbite. I know it's for aerodynamics but still.
I have seen that you are driving a Distributor License Plate. May I ask you a question, please? I bought the 2022 EQS 450+ about 3 months now. At the time I bought the car, the dealer did say about... 2 years of NO CHARGE for charging the car. However, I still didn't get the Charge Card from MB that works yet. The dealer's provided me with 2 times the Charge Cards but NONE of them work. I contact the dealer, as well as the MB Me connect services center. He (Area Manager Darron S.) got involved and said that he will escalate to the higher level.... "The Mercedez Me Charge card was NOT working but my credit card or even Electrify America Account works just fine." What is going on here? It has been 3 months and they can not even get it done? Can you give me some advice, please?
This incessant need for car manufacturers to input piano gloss black plastic into every high-traffic area of the car is something that I find super annoying about high-end cars like this. My friend's 2016 RX comes with less high gloss piano black plastic and it looks so much better than this would even a year into owning it. The issue is that it gets scratched so easily and it accumulates dust and particles and dead skin and smudges. It's just really gross and it's a problem that you'll have to look at every day. At a price point this high, I would expect better
Either the EQS is in very limited supply or no one is buying them. I haven’t seen not single one on the road yet. I’ve seen Plenty of the new S-class, but no EQS
I agree with you, but it doesn't matter. People here (I live in Southern California) routinely cross-shop Mercedes/BMW vs Tesla. So either they are willing to sacrifice some luxury for other Tesla features or as ALMX5DP says, they define luxury differently.
The Lucid Air has a cheaper price, has a better IMO, and longer range, this would not be my car if had the money, plus that's too much screen and I have yet seen a video without those many screens.
It looks too weird for me I know it's for coefficient of drag and all that good shit but it's funny looking especially in the front.... And that's a lot of money to pay for something that's funny looking just because it got a Mercedes badge on it... If Mercedes could design a sexy sea turtle this would be it lol
I decided not to watch this episode because Lynn is on. She’s trying to be funny which is is terrible at, and a horrible host. Let’s get Micah back on. 🤮
I think Lynn does a fabulous talk and walk out of frame move. I am so gonna try it myself She is an inspiration
Maybe it’s just me, but every time I look at that front it reminds me of a Honda
Let’s go places essay
It’s just you
Yeah at first glance it looks like an odyssey
This car is amazing! I've had mine since April and it impresses me and other drivers on the road every day!
If I were rich...
This vehicle is differently better than the Tesla Model S!
That’s the problem, electric cars are all reserved for luxury buyers, I don’t wanna spend 40k for a base model electric car that looks weird and has no range, I could buy a bunch of top trim gas powered cars for that money.
I love Lynn's style of review, it is just 100% perfect. She is very likeable and engaging and doesn't talk too fast or mumble.

You're going from a C-HR to this?!?!? Did you win the lottery or something? Lol Congrats, it's a beautiful car.

Always enjoying reviews from Lynn!
Love the glare on the screens

Sorry hate the a pillar to a pillar dash. Not driver centric enough. The base model with just gauge cluster and centre map screen does the job
Great review!😸

Beautiful car Splendid review
You talked me into it. I'll take two.
I don’t know why but the exterior design reminds me of a Toyota Corolla from the future… wish they just made it look like a normal Benz
Apples to apples, Lucid air is better in every single way than the EQS. Just wish their production rates were higher!

Excellent review, you’re also hilarious.
I’d take the porche or audi over this
Facts bro
Great video
This car makes my cla 250 look like a 95 Corolla..love this❤️
Looks like a Civic had a baby with a ELR
No frunk? What about sub-trunk?
8:38 So the EQS has frame-less door windows, like Teslas, but unlike the Lucid Air, to which I often see the EQS compared.
Great review, Lynn. Good stu-.... F-15's & F16's!!!??? Where was this shot?
Fabulous ❤
does the range take into consideration the regenerative breaking in these cars?
The camera work looks so good and Lyn is brilliant as ever!! Well done y’all :)
Nice job Mercedes! And nice job throwing shade at BMW lol
I love how futuristic this looks. I'm not a fan of the jutting out in the front, it looks like the car has an underbite. I know it's for aerodynamics but still.
That Hyper screen is not for me. Too much meddling from the passenger. Just sit there and look forward.

Not a bad price -- cheaper than the Model S. But I can't live without Navigate on Autopilot.
So I'm assuming US license plates aren't retroreflective? That extra bit at the rear to house lighting for the rear plate looks super ugly.
I love cars but I only watch this channel to see her.
The Linus Tech Tips review of this car is soo much better imho
What about the storage space? Front and rear?
When you saying you’re rolling on 20’s you need to add some seasoning to it
No talk on the boot space?
I don’t exactly know what it is but this Mercedes is missing something to me. Maybe it’s the function over form exterior or something else.
Lyn, it’s great to see you. It is good you don’t have children, it’s your own, private decision. Have a wonderful day!
Did you say good looks?
50% depreciation after 2 years. A great used car bargain!
I wish you showed the engine sound. I think that’s weird but still wanna hear😀
Doug DeMuro showed it in his review.

Looks like a big Jetta. Also, first.
True, but I know I'd much rather have an EQS than a Jetta!
@@aurelian1 True. The range appears decent. I'd stay with the 450....enough power and the rear wheel dynamics would be fun
Nah...looks more like a 9th gen Civic.
What an awesome ending to the vid... #walkntalk
🇺🇸 She's back, dresses for the fancy Benz! Thank God, Lynn is back. Benz is to chubby. 90s S are the best! Hair blowing in wind... SUPER MODEL.
We must be watching different videos. She's short, not cute, dresses like a hobo and is boring like no other.
Next time, discuss how you will spend one-third of the car's cost repairing components that break down...
Either the EQS is in very limited supply or no one is buying them. I haven’t seen not single one on the road yet. I’ve seen Plenty of the new S-class, but no EQS

Tesla does not make any luxury vehicles
Depends how you define luxury.

The car looks better at night
No reason to pay a premium for such an ordinary looking car
Don’t know about good looks, but I can’t afford one either!
It looks like an egg
A very ugly egg ...
To my understanding....the Mercedes-Benz EQS has 14" out of 56" of completely useless touch screen space.
I like how they have put up the script in the about part of the video.
Nice Longines.
Can we please stop comparing this car to The model S. The EQS is in a much higher league. I own a model S
The worst body design ever with the best interior!!
It looks like a round blob with a giant Mercedes badge on it.
Why mercedes put honda civic 9th gen or hond jazz fron end on this EQS ?? 😂😂
The Lucid Air has a cheaper price, has a better IMO, and longer range, this would not be my car if had the money, plus that's too much screen and I have yet seen a video without those many screens.
Looks are subjective but it loses ,to a fault in my opinion, the Mercedes design language shared by the other models. Looks too different.
They need to stop making EV cars look like project cars.
That car is ugly.
Hideous.
It looks too weird for me I know it's for coefficient of drag and all that good shit but it's funny looking especially in the front.... And that's a lot of money to pay for something that's funny looking just because it got a Mercedes badge on it... If Mercedes could design a sexy sea turtle this would be it lol
Harris Helen Perez Jessica Gonzalez Helen
Thompson Jessica Taylor Betty Perez Deborah
She is focusing on all the irrelevant points... If not, she is just reading the specs. Will never watch her again. And I am buying the EQS!.
This car is hideous. Can we please put a halt on the inconvenience of electric cars while we are ahead?
Good review, bland looking car ........ give me the S-Class!
This car is ugly.
That car is so ugly
I'm outta here... Bye Lyn.
Micah, please do the reviews yourself
Thank you
Sorry Mercedes hard pass
Ugggly! 🤮

Way overpriced against comparable competitors within the same space.
