I'm dissapointed there's no mention of PSG DOUBLING the prices on the market. Actually they only doubled the "price ceiling", but that caused ALL prices to be "adjusted". The reasoning being something like this: "well, if Neymar is worth 222 mil, then my player (which is roughly 70% as good as Neymar), is worth around 150 mil" So prices have doubled, but income hasn't. And while RM is a rich club, they don't have infinite money, they still need to careful with spending, especially nowadays with income dropping a lot due to Covid, and FFP around. So a major reason to why RM isn't buying Galactios left, right and center anymore... is because they can't afford to anymore.

So in 5 years, Madrid have gone from buying 5-6 big named stars to only 1-2 per season. That’s huge. Madrid was known for throwing sacks of money to multiple clubs. They had all these fancy attacking players but the midfield and defense was underwhelming bringing that era to a total of 2 la ligas and one UCL Compare that to the 2010’s when they started to change their policy. 3 La Ligas, 4 UCL’s, 4 Club world cups, & 3 Uefa super cups.

a lot of the signings have been successful but others haven't. too early to tell if Vinicius, Rodrygo, or Reinier will become world-class players. also, they let Ronaldo leave too soon. i'd much rather have kept him for the past 3 seasons. especially since they wasted all the money they got for him on Hazard (who's been a bust). but they have identified a lot of good, young players over the last 5-6 years. Carvajal, Varane, Casemiro, Valverde, Odegaard, and Asensio were all signed for relatively low fees at a young age and have since become solid, first-team players. i hope there is a larger investment this summer in a player like Mbappe though.
