- I show you how to fix a black screen issue where the display won't turn on on the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet (should be same as Kids Pro model). Rather than black screen, we had the lock screen but totally unresponsive to touch. Tried all the tapping, slapping etc and nothing would work. But the freezer did the trick!!!! Must admit, I was highly dubious but I should have had more faith. Worked first time, straight out of the freezer! Thanks so much!! 'Have you tried putting it in the freezer?' is the new 'Have you tried turning it off and on again?'
My son’s tablet would not do anything when the charger was plugged in. No ding, no low battery signal, nothing. Holding power button for 15 seconds & then 3 seconds did the trick! Thank you so much, my wife was ready to buy my son a brand new tablet!
Same thing just happened to me. Had no idea what happened. Was ready to give up and get a new one. Really helpful tip!
The guy said hold the botton down for 20 second if that doesn’t work it just doesn’t work it’s done your son is not going to play anymore games he might hate the Amazon tables now🤣🤣🤣

My son threw his tablet and got the black screen. Hard tapping everywhere did the trick. At first it flickered, then stayed on when I hard tapped the lower portion of the screen opposite of the volume/power buttons. Thank you so much

I just got the 10 for my sons birthday. Only had it for a week and it suddenly wouldn’t turn on yesterday. All day today it would not turn on even though I knew the battery was close to fully charged before it stopped working the day prior. My son broke his Amazon fire screen. Then replaced the broken screen.
Then, the tablet wouldn't stay fully on. The Amazon logo would appear. When the Fire logo appeared, the tablet would shut off.
So I did the "hold the power button for 15 seconds then hold it for 3 seconds"
The tablet works now. Thank you so much

Trying freezer method for the second time and hoping it works. We barely use this thing and it's charged and it just won't turn on. Even if this doesn't work, it felt good to hit it.

It was on the charger all night and wouldn’t turn on today. I moved it too a different outlet and still nothing. I think used a completely different charger and cable and still nothing!

Do you know what to do if it turns on just fine. But the lock screen goes from the blue to just black, but you can see the time/date? I can unlock but then no apps show up. It's just blank.

I had issues when I tried to charge my Samsung s8 tablet by plugging it into an extension cable. But when I plugged it directly into the wall socket it started charging up. I didn't know it needs plugging into the wall socket thought I'd be able to charge ot from an extension
