The student-athlete needs to be promoted by our SID. when I first started working in athletics I observed our SID calling our people suggesting if you vote for Ben Coates he would vote for one of their defensive players. I also wrote up lots of stories and stats immediately after games to get the student-athletes name to the conference website because that is where others that needed to vote looked for names to vote for. Admittedly it was before live stream or social media but we have to form relationships with others and make these trades to get our student-athletes noticed.
You are very right about this but if you have noticed our Sports Information Director does not do much at all on meet the Rams day or the open to the public scrimmage we didn’t even have a roster. Also on the website the information is old, our athletics department is being ran poorly. The sports Information Director is not doing her job effectively and I don’t believe she knows what her role truly is and how it impacts the student athletes or the alumni.
I'm not sure why you're surprised. We have not garnered that type of attention to be considered for such a prestigious award. I mean, were you looking for a WSSU player just to say we had someone on the list? Our QB isn't going to get the true recognition he deserves unless/until he's able to turn the program into a winner vs mediocrity which is where we currently are.

Yes a true freshman with descent numbers on a losing team. Being able to win games matters not just create stats.
