Listen to this recording and then listen to the same song sung by a young Delbert McClinton and I am confident that you will be able to answer your own question, cayogator. All the best, sir.
It's been 37 years since he first released this song. Delbert is now in his 77th year. Of course his voice isn't quite as strong as it was nearly four decades ago. Personally I think instead of saying ''time has robbed him'' you might consider how strong his voice remains even after all this time. We had the good fortune to hear him live in concert just last night in Marietta, Ohio. His voice was strong and he put on a fast paced energetic show that lasted well over two hours. Delbert sounded great and he had an amazing band behind him. Pretty damn good for a man of any age, let alone a guy who's been on stage belting out songs since the early 1960s!
Mr Dilly remembers Delbert from his South Carolina days.... Awesome performer, with a Great voice and Helluva nice Guy !!! 👍🎸😎♥️
