@@justvid366 if you equip the basic axe, the one from the emergency kit that you have at the very beginning, and you move to about the middle of a full log you will see a dotted red line. Click the left mouse button once to begin the process then click the left mouse button again to make the cut. You can make quarter size logs in the same way, or split a log lengthwise down the middle for things like steps or shingles. The other axes don't work for this, you need the basic emergency kit axe.
There's a protected cove on the island with a long downhill leading to it. Cliffs all around lots of tree's. Anyone think it's a good place to build? Only one way in and out easy to defend.

how do u place the rope? I was trying to do it today and I was getting nothingIn the forest there was a prefab in the book
You need to go on the edge of the building and usually you need to make 7 log tall building to attach the rope.
