    most humans have no clue what its like to be on a tour bus with the same smelly asses, ragged voices, bad attitudes and ups and downs in such close quarters for so long. the loneliness. the isolation. the being surrounded but feeling a million miles away. stop the hate. that man is a God of metal.

    Toxicity is definitely something we are all responsible for managing in our own lives. You gotta decide whether it’s worth it or not. That is only compounded when you start a family. Making a marriage work is tough. It takes a lot of effort. Raising a child with someone else brings it to an exponentially higher level. And when you make the decision to be a husband and a father, all the other stuff becomes just that… stuff. Family becomes your life. Not your top priority. You ONLY priority. The other stuff in your life is there only to help you grow as a better husband and father. If any of that stuff brings toxicity into your life and especially into your home, you are doing the right thing by letting it go. It is really just that simple.
    Chris is an excellent drummer. Sounds to me like he’s an even better man.

  • @docvader82
    @docvader82 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    This is the most I've heard about why he left. I mean, as recently as the making of Sacrament video he didn't seem all that unhappy.
    And he took on soooo much responsibility. He was basically the manager. Maybe if he just let go of that stuff.
    But then he played in Megadeth, with no responsibility other than recording and playing, and he probably loved that freedom. But that's because Mustaine is the heavy there. Every band needs someone to shoulder the lion's share(unless it's a real democracy).
    It doesn't feel the same without him. No knock on art, the music with him is ok. But it's been just ok since at least Resolution.
    I'll always root for these guys, get every record. But damn I want my hairs to stand up like in everything up to Wrath.

    • @Janjibro66
      @Janjibro66 ปีที่แล้ว

      See its funny I know in some ways their music has become a bit more formulaic but both of the machine produced records “ashes” and “sacrament” while being very unique and clearly very Well thought out are not my cup of tea anymore.
      I love as the palaces burn the same way I did when I first heard it as a teen… and ashes was the album that came out when I was in highschool… at the time I loved it but it has not aged well for me. If I never got to hear laid to rest again I wouldn’t be offended. The perfect sounding recording of that album just gets to me. It’s overuse of open breakdowns I’m not gonna say all the songs are bad there are some I still like but overall I prefer the songwriting on some of their newer records.
      Yelling “see who gives a fuck” over and over again during a breakdown feels badass when you’re a teen but it’s not so cool once you get older. I prefer just well written songs and catchy Melodiws and I think lamb of god have grown as songwriters since Ashes. The albums overall are less polished but they matured as songwriters I just don’t think they’re trying as hard to make a perfect record anymore if that makes sense.
      I never liked sacrament all that much. Ambitious and experimental for sure but I just don’t think lamb of gods sound works when they’re trying to be too experimental.
      Lamb of god is at their best when their riffs are fucked up sounding yet undeniably brutal. As soon as they soften their sound it just feels like what is the point of this.
      I would definitely rank sturm, wrath, self titled, and possibly even resolution over Ashes. Ashes just doesn’t do much for me anymore. It grew old for me whereas palaces never did.

    • @juggernautnation369
      @juggernautnation369 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thats your opinion bro but common consensus is that their best albums were Ashes and Sacrament. They became formulaic because they didnt know how to evolve they're style beyond that peak. They've been able to adapt but not evolve and thats why they fell off. Also production was better with Machine he knew how to make them sound bigger. If Log started mixing shredding elements to their tech style and maybe pick up influences from the underground like merging slam with new wave and continued with Machine they would'nt of fell off and wouldve set a new standard for metal.

    The fact that Chris Adler (one of my top 5 drummers of all time) stated back in 2006 I believe, that he plays drums as if he is playing lead guitar blew my mind in those kiddo times and till this day.

    The last few times I’ve seen LOG around 2012-2016, Mark looked like he was overweight, miserable and didn’t want to be there, while the other members had gotten healthy and fit. Fast forward a few years and Mark and Chris got into a childish Twitter argument that blew up the rock and metal news sites. Then last year Mark quit drinking and got on a health kick. Makes you wonder where all that toxicity was coming from. Anyway, I hope they’re both doing well and happy
