Mine ran everything I fed it, love the little gun, that Gun is definitely accurate
Mine choked on fiocchi about every mag
For all the bad press this gun gets I still like it. 6 inch group at 30ish feet, light weight, beats the old lcp trigger by a mile (which is what I "learned" with), conceales very well, ... and now I get 10 rounds!
I've got better shooting, I've got smaller pistols, and I've got harder hitting calibers. This one just ticks off the boxes that I need. Thanks for the video 🙂.
Original LCP triggers were brutal lol
The LCP Max is not a range gun. It is a practical self-defense gun to be used in typical engagements, which are 7 yards or less. I practice at 5-, 7 and 10 yards. Anything more than 10 yards is probably not a practical self-defense range.
Well my lcp 2 does much better at hitting point of aim, so do most other pocket size self defense guns. The size of the lcp max does not excuse it not hitting where the sights are.
LCP is one of those that never floated my boat... But I love the guitar music.
It’s definitely not one that gets me excited but it sure is convenient to slip in a pocket lol
So, I just ran across your channel and subscribed.
Forget the gun review you need to review what diet and exercise you've been on since your videos from 3 years ago. Great job bro.
lol thank you. I’ve thought about doing an ordinary person type fitness channel. So much misinformation out there just trying to sell you something for fitness.
It's a bad breath distance type of weapon, a get off me gun.
Don't know what you guys are complaining about. I can hit silhouettes at 50 yards consistently with this thing.
The Ruger LCP Max is my least favorite pocket/micro gun.
Yep. This mirrors my experience with shooting LCP max pistols. My LCP 2 doesn’t have this shooting low problem.
Agreed, just went to the range with my lcp max first time and it was shooting 4 inches low at only 6 yards. Lcp ii was on the money, shame
I can’t hit well at distance but up close in “get off me” range I’m good. Plus running 12rd mags so 12+1 and a 12rd backup is comforting
I’m impressed with your group. I’ve never shot a group that close with mine. I hate this gun so much!
lol 😂 not all guns are for everyone. My wife can shoot circles around me with my xds 45, lol.
Mine shoots super low too. I wish someone would make sights to correct that problem
You’d think lol
I used an XS S&W Bodyguard rear with factory LCP Max front. Great improvement, but certainly increased the cost of this everyday carry. I think the only other choice is a machinist- custom shop retrofitting a new rear site set up. Ruger screwed up their own great idea.
Have one, not the nicest to shoot at the range, but carries easy. Accurate , yes, just hard because it is soo small
My LCP Max shoots low exactly like yours. I can shoot it accurately because I have learned how high to aim, but it is a bit irritating for that to be necessary.
I agree
Mine shoots 4” low from bench rest. I sent it back to Ruger and they replaced the slide, got it back and still shoots 4” low. I think Ruger put out a bunch of bad guns, unfortunately, I got one. Waiting on the bodyguard to come out with the same capacity as the Max!
@augiebusch that's gonna be a long wait friend
@@infernofairy8810 it just released! I had to come find this comment lol 😂
@@thegundungeon nice! Now I got research to do
I had problems with mine because of the hard wall on the trigger, clean crisp break and good reset but hard wall so I pushed left a lot like I tend to do
Grip is small and easy to do that with
@@thegundungeon I have the same problem with Hellcats, I’ve given up after the 3rd used one, lol great gun though
I have the lcp2, it’s run everything I put through it. I get consistent 3 inch groupings at 30 ft. It’s fine for concealed carry
Mine shoots well too. I still carry it in shorts
Nothing likes Fiocchi 380. It's the worst in that caliber. I had one so out of spec on the bullet that it stuck in the chamber after not quite feeding and had to be pried out. I've had it malfunction in the Glock 42, og LCP, and the BG 2.0. It's just really bad ammo.
Be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn with mine. It's not accurate, and the sights are way off. Shoots about a foot low at 7 yards
Same here.
You don't know what your doing . You are aiming wrong . I thought the same as you , but a range instructor told me how to hold the gun and what to do different and BAM the gun shoots perfect . Trust me your doing something wrong
@RonSaywer Well, it's funny that I sent it back, and they pretty much replaced everything but the trigger. They replaced slide, sight, barrel, frame, and fire control group, and now it shoots fine... Ruger customer service was great! But, still selling it and buying a s&w bodyguard 2.0, infinitely better designed pistol.
I've heard about this before but this is the first vid I've seen demonstrating it, thanks. Ruger needs to change the sight heights on this gun. I suppose the user could buy aftermarket sights to fix this themselves, but Ruger has no excuse continuing to ship them out hitting like this. It at least looks accurate enough for what it is, which is good.
I’ve not tried to find different height sights, not even sure they are available.
I tell people: guns are typically mechanically accurate
From the axis the barrel is aligned to the target, it's straight. Your eyes and your sights and your trigger may need work, but the gun is mechanically accurate
Yep. This one is accurate, just doesn’t shoot to point of aim. If you run across any aftermarket sights that are shorter front or higher rear, let me know lol
I shoot the capital ammo also. It didn’t cycle at first reliably until I put a 13 pound recoil spring in, and now it cycles flawlessly. Seeing how it’s not that accurate for you, maybe I should try something else.
I haven’t had any issues cycling yet. I had a batch of bad 9mm that had dud primers once but that was a while back, I think it’s documented in my ec9s video.
Well done!
You’re pretty accurate with that LCP max. I can’t hit shit.
I’ve never been a fan of the LCP two firing mechanism. if you take it apart and look at it, there’s no drop safety block for the fire and pin and it’s pretty well 100% cocked I prefer the heavy action of the LCP or the bodyguard for pocket carry condition one
I never could shoot the originals very well. Or the kel tec p3at
@@thegundungeon me neither. Inherent issue with heavy double action.
Unfortunately so many of these have garbage POA POI... At seven and even five yards...
Mine from the bench proves I'll need to aim at the perps top left shoulder to POI at center mass sternum... So many have issues that Ruger violated their own policies of not sending out parts to people... They decided the were bleeding out money so much that they are willing to send complete slides and barrels out to help mitigate their money loss from their technicians handling all of them... 🤷♂️... and mine is the newest iteration being the 75th Anniversary stainless steel model....and pretty much no reason to hope it'll be fixed sending it in... This problem persists since it was released, so years now... People say "send it in Ruger has the best CS" ... but why ? If they can fix them after the fact why can't they ship them out in working order... I honestly think people that say their POA POI is golden just really haven't noticed just how terrible these guns are...😒
The low shots could be easily remedied by slowly reducing the height of the front site. Based on what I see I'd start with removing 30 thousandths and then shoot it from a bench supported and then standing to see where the bullets land. After that a couple strokes of the file followed by shooting to verify where the bullets impact with your favorite load. I've seen a lot of people shoot well and a lot not shoot well with this pistol and all were decent shots. I think Ruger must have released some with accuracy issues.
That’s a definite possibility
Or get rear xs sights for a bodyguard, they are the same
Not mine...
Well did ya get to watch?
This comment has nothing to do with this video. But you had mentioned VEDDER holster for your XDM 10MM , I noticed on their site There is no one specific for the 10 mm. Is yours actually the one for the 45 that fits the 10MM just curious?
Well I think it may be the 45, I didn’t order it, they asked me what I wanted in email and they sent it to me, but I think the 45 is the same size as the 10mm in xdm
mine shoots 4 to 5 inches low out to 10 yards but i can still make hits on target lol i got use to it
Don't use your rear sight with max... Also one handed with the max works well
@alexperkins8361 Not sure why, but that's 100% true with mine too.
My buddy who is ex-military, and has a lot of experience shooting, is horrible with my Ruger LCP Max. He honestly doesn't shoot any ultra compact pistols very well. I on the other hand, shoot them very well. My Ruger LCP Max is one of the more accurate compact pistols I've shot. However I think I have a lot more experience with pistols than he does. He can absolutely outshoot me with an AR any day. If I had to guess, I've probably gone through over 100,000 pistol rounds in my life. I don't know how that compares to most people, but regardless I'm extremely accurate with my Ruger LCP Max. It's my favorite carry pistol.
Some guns just work for some people. Some don’t lol
It can be the individual's hands. Big hands rarely work well with small grips and vice versa. Another factor is the recoil. These light little .380 pistols can kick harder than a full size 9mm. Some people are more sensitive to recoil than others and it can affect their accuracy.
My gun shoots a foot low too!!! I wonder if there's a way to fix it?
I’ve seen people say they sent them back, half said they fixed it, others said it was the same
Did you find a fix ?
Asking for the entire world 😆👍
I have the original LCP, LCP2, a Bodyguard, and LCP Max. The Max is by far the worst of the four. Shoots very low, often far left. Recoil is not any better or worse than the others. The long double action trigger on the LCP and Bodyguard suck but they're more accurate than the Max in my hands. I absolutely hate the way my Max shoots. It's a nice idea with the 10 rd flush fit mag, but lacks delivery on the accuracy and sight system.
How about we all email Glock or an aftermarket magazine producer and get a 9 or 10 rd mag for the G42. (Not extended, flush fit).
That would be ideal lol
Yessir, it would 😁
The LCP max in .380 gives a false sense of security. I promise it’s too painful to practice with, and in a self defense situation, it’s a toss up if you’ll be able to hit any target that more than a very few feet away. They’d almost have to be on top of you. This is the worse gun I own by far. I’d be better off shooting my M&P compact in 22. lr. For all but very good shooters, like this guy, this gun is a disaster waiting to happen. That’s just my opinion and warning.
I don’t find it painful to practice with, maybe just a bad combo between its size and your hand size. They are difficult to shoot well, like most very small guns, but if it doesn’t work for you, definitely find something else that does.
I didn't find it painful either. I suspect that if you think you are better off with the M&P 22LR, you are probably just highly recoil sensitive. Nothing wrong with being recoil sensitive, so no dig at you, but what doesn't work for you didn't mean that it doesn't work for other people... there are no one size fits all solutions, so you have to find what is best for you
@@grahamohea2424 interesting! 👍🏾
@@grahamohea2424 I can shoot 100 rounds of 9 from XDM FAR easier than I can shoot this 380. I see the producer here, he’s a HUGE guy! Maybe I need to work harder in the weight room! 😅
@@LKaramazov lol 😂 that never hurts anything
😡 YOU FLAGGED ME THROUGH THE CAMERA 🤬
I could have been killed 🤣
Well, at least you didn’t smell the fart that was lingering around lol
Makes a good belly gun it it is reliable. Thank you.
Thats a fact. Just not with fiocchi ammo in mine lol
Get sights with taller rear sights.
Any suggestions where?
Same sights as bodyguard. X S makes some.@@thegundungeon
Does anybody out there know what a "belly gun" is? Why do you all insist on shooting these guns at unrealistic ranges? What do you expect out of these cheap micro-guns? Do you take a ford pinto to the drag strip?
@@rizzodrat3076 I expect them to shoot to point of aim just like every other mouse gun I have. If you’re willing to accept mediocrity based on the merit of never having to shoot your carry gun accurately, then go ahead, but I’ll not have you insist to my viewers than your carry gun doesn’t need to hit where the sights point. That’s just asinine.
