@umamwosa it is debatable but when I watch our games either akanji dias and walker are the three centre backs and lately it has been gvardiol dias and akanji and Rico while Rico always drops at cdm
I actually watched sporting's game against nacional last night and one thing i can tell you is that the players he has there are very intelligent, mobile and creative..i can't say the same with the players we have, they try their best sometimes but they can't give what they don't have
3atb is a misnomer. Most manager have a 3atb structure in possession. The correct description would be 3CBs. Also, Amorim defends in a 5-2-3 when in a low block and a 3-4-3 when pressing. James should have made that distinction. James also fails to mention that one of the CBs usually step up into midfield to form a double pivot with the DM while the other CM moves up the field into a 10 position. I don't think James was very concise with his video and their are better videos that explain how Amorim would work at United.
If you look at man United's average position against West Ham it lines up like a 3-1-6 (the same as ten hag's first game in charge) they try 3 at the back all the time but its the tactics is what sets them a part, people are saying its going to be a lot different but its not
Yeah that point of the CCB pushing into the holding midfield role in attack really has me questioning De Ligt's long term potential at keeping that spot. Too slow to cover large spaces in behind and out wide, and not technically sufficient to comfortably take charge of what would be a midfield role in attacking phases. Great player but doesn't fit this way of playing imo.
@@Thatdoginme_m3 yeah was thinking Lisandro in the middle myself. Then maybe like a Branthwaite on the left of that 3, long term. Maybe even Kukonki from the academy since he plays either a left back or centre back role already, not to mention he's 6'4 and quick which is in that Branthwaite mould anyway.
A lot of competition for only 4 spots (2 wingbacks and 2 no10's). Bruno, Rashford, Amad, Garnacho, Zirkzee (arguably), Mount, Antony, Dalot, Mazraoui, Amass, Shaw and Malacia (if/when back fit). Will be interesting to see who Amorim favours, or more who he's willing to drop.
Ahmad is a great player in the right half space, so good and technical with linking up with the winger, as he did with Roberts at Sunderland (although the level was below his ability so it could just be because of how good he was)
I feel like the obvious answer atleast for the first few games is to have Rashford in that left half space and have Bruno in the right half space. Like James mentioned, Amorim has used a winger profile like Marcus Edwards in the half space role before and I think Rashford could be good at that, driving at the defence in that half space where some room may be created by the left sided wingback holding width, and would be a goal threat with that right foot of his.
@danielca3 it doesn't matter, his ball control is typically pretty good and he'd be able to dribble through that narrow space, and if he gets closed down by multiple defenders he can lay it off to the wingback or hojlund
I'm for the 3 at the back. What I've seen Sporting do look exciting and how Amorim can take what he has already done and translate that to United and the prem should be interesting and hopefully fun to watch. Let's see who in the squad can hack it and who can't. I think the prospect of a young coach and the young team INEOS want to build is also exciting, and something to look forward to even though I think most of us are very jaded right now.
United best 11 is absolutely shocking considering we started “rebuilding” years ago and a few hundred million later we’re still left with a bunch of lower league table players. This is not a big club atm.
Good vid mate. But ultimately a manager can only do so much with the current man u squad. Fully expect a 2/3 year cycle then his gone and most fans saying his washed. The way to fix the problem is to fix the playing squad not necessarily the manager.
His formation will help us break down teams that sit back (something we've struggled with the last couple seasons)and also help us score alot of goals but the question is do we have the kind of players to play his kind of football?? I don't think so
Icl as much as we all clown on Anthony, I really want him to have a place in this team and thrive because I have a soft spot for brazilians that for whatever reason dont play or do well at their clubs like Vitor Roque, Richarlison and even Raphinha at a certain point.
Will u be willing to accept that its players who are the problem in that they couldn't carry out the tactics, that is for this season. My opinion is that there has to be a huge squad clearout, especially the ones from the ole era.
@kauto3364 I have no issue with him talking. It's why I told him to put himself in the foreground. It makes no sense to pause a video and then blab over it while the viewers' eyes are focused on someone else and ears on someone else.
Crazy how Pep made the 4-3-3 formation iconic but has been using 3 at the back for two years now
only in possession

I agree 100%. He gets 1 year to get used to the league and then 1 year to perform. That’s it.

Rashford would be in too narrow in that space

19:20 Amad cannot play wing back mate. Antony can play LWB. Amad is the perfect RAM in a 343
Idk at all but is Anthony's crossing decent?
@@liamabrahams3166it’s one of the only parts of his game that’s up to snuff imo, he’s a talented crosser

If Victor Moses could tuck in at RWB for Chelsea then Antony should do the same for United.
James is awesome
Do you think Lisandro always lacked some athleticism, or has it been due to injury?
Maybe he brings Goncalves for the left idk, I have heard he’s trying to bring in Cama and rodrygo though. Doubt it happens but who knows
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If Man U are playing a back 3, smart move is to go all out and get Ben Chilwell.

Get Morgan Rogers in June.
Maybe Eze
Eze is better..and zirkzee may lose his spot to Ethan Wheatley
@@emmanueladekunle3088 thing is would Amorim take a chance on youngsters this early
I know he promoted a lot of academy players but he has to figure the 1st team out first.
Antony in the LWB..touch line winger..hard working off the ball..i hate to say that..I see it
You overrate the players we have
I watched his video he gets Amorím tactically but he doesn't know anything about Manchester United
Its absolutly shocking we have come to this.. Man utd best eleven is not even top-6 in the league.. its absolutly shit tbh

Give Antony a clean slate, lyes.
It's great playing with wingbacks but ya need the right players....
