Oh how lovely!! I’m sure you will have a wonderful time 😃 Two Thumb has a few spots in Christchurch so I’m sure you will have no trouble finding a good pint. Cassels Brewing has a great Milk Stout as well. Oh, and if you want a nice tasty craft beer with a killer view, head over to Lyttleton to Eruption Brewing. So close to Christchurch and we’ll worth the visit 🍻
Dog Star. Wonder if it's a homage the tv series Children of the Dog Star. Which I just googled and had a intense nostalgic reaction. The 80's were so great, we thought we'd all die in a nuclear apocalypse but we had great local tv shows and funny looking fashion. There were four types of beer to choose from, you staunchly decried yours was the best! In truth me as a bar tender in the 90's, you put any beer on the tap if you run out as long as it was the same colour. Nobody knew, especially the people who said they would know, they absolutely had no idea they were drinking a tui instead of a lion red! If you obtain time travel, go to the 80's. I feel Brittany is looking for the 80's. 2020's is a bit... lumpy.
Huh good to know! It’s interesting hearing you talk about these beers that have been around for awhile since we watched Once Were Warriors for the first time over the weekend. Lots of Lion Red featured in that movie! Thanks for watching and the great comment! 😃🍻
@@donovankelly12 That movie is rough. I reckon local movies are some of the most Insightful ways to explore a culture. For Aotearoa I'd include Australian movies like The Castle and The Dish. But I think after watching Once Were Warriors you'll need to recover with Whale Rider 2002 (a feel good cultural experience), Goodbye Pork Pie 1981 or Hunt for the Wilderpeople to de-traumatise from "cook the man some xxxxxx eggs!". Whale Rider will balance out the Once Were Warriors trauma.
@@theunknownunknowns256 yeah absolutely, local movies and shows are very insightful. Some of the most popular plays and films around the world cover the same issues but it was really interesting to see this in a New Zealand setting. I thought it was quite a powerful film that was really impactful, made me think about it for the next 48 hours. I appreciate the list! I’ve seen Hunt for the Wilder People but will look to find the others, thank you!! 🍻
Having been to Dunners, you totally need to watch 'Scarfies' - such a good movie (don't know if it paints Dunedin in such a good light, but it's pretty accurate for the time period, and a brilliant black comedy/drama ❤ (Donovan, this is the video I should have commented on 😅)
Awesome video Donovan, so great meeting you and Brittany, come on back to RxR soon!
Thanks, Kate!! So glad you enjoyed it 😃 we will let you know next time we are down that way 🍻🙏

Hey thanks so much!! It’s a lot of beer haha yes but a lot of things to accompany the beer, thankfully. Thanks so much for watching!! 🍻🍻😃
I will have to add that one to my list next time I am in Dunners. Glad you and Brittany enjoyed yourselves
If you can plan a trip around it I am sure you will have a good time!! Thanks for watching 🍻😃 we had a blast!
Man what a vibe, think I'm gonna have to fly down for that next year 🙌
It was a whole lot of fun! I’m glad you think it’s enticing after watching the video. Such a great balance of great food, beer, and live music 🍻
