Hey Chris I’m on the west coast of Canada and I’ve been going down to Moab for the past 4 years and I’ll be going again this summer. I stay at the Sun Outdoors Down Town and there are many trails you can do there with your set up including some of the Badge trails, if you get 35’s it’ll open up more options.
You should try Drummond island in Michigan. It’s one of two only trail rated BOH. It’s nice and scenic. You could then do the other BOH trail/park on the way back down to OH.
I don’t have a 4xe anymore, but I have a vacation planned to go back to the Outer Banks. Staying in an AirBNB in the dunes of the 4xx4 beach. 2024 Willys V6 manual this time, My 13 yo daughter is super excite!
Hey Chris, I live 4 hours from Moab and frequent it often. I did Hells Revenge and Fins and Things in my stock Rubicon 4xe (I did have skid plates, and the Rubicon rock sliders). They are pretty iconic beautiful slick rock trails I would highly recommend. I am currently on a 3.5" lift and 37 in tires, and you can do just about anything in Moab with that setup. A guide is great idea, knowing the "line" can make a huge difference in how much you struggle vs breaze through. There are so many more trails as well, Metal Masher, Top of the World just beautiful. I will be headed there several times this coming year. Feel free to touch base on any questions and let me know when/if you come down. I would be happy show you my back yard :)
@@mavsmith I’m basically at Rubicon-Wanna-Be level with my Sahara at this point. 33” K02s, 2” lift, MetalCloak skid plates and Rubicon rock rails. I think my tires are my only issue right now.
@Wrangler4XEFans Even as is there is a lot of fun to be had, larger tires would make it a little easier. But you would not regret a trip to Moab either way.
We are currently in Sedona AZ with our 31 ft class A and our new ‘24 wrangler Rubicon 4xe. We have been here about a week and done all of the well known touristy trails. All relatively easy both for us ( previously wheeled them with our Tacoma) and the new jeep! Love the electric! It regens well on the down hills and in town traffic! Free juice!! Performs really well off road. We were planning to go to Moab for the Thanksgiving week. However, now we think we’ll stay here and explore some of the other trails surrounding Sedona, Flagstaff and northern Phoenix. Weather was supposed to get a little rainy here and this red dust turns into clay I when it rains but looks like the weather is gonna hold off. Include a few pictures here and be willing to answer any questions y’all might have as we explore the abilities of this particular new Jeep!
Btw. All of these trails are doable solo. Plenty of places to learn and h e fun with or without others. Close to town even when boondocking, which we currently are doing!!
We go about every 2-3 years. We’re working on a potential trip this fall after the Killbuck JJ. ( guiding black again in ‘25). Check into Outlaw Jeep Adventures. They have guided us on some of the harder trails we do. All the trails are well marked in gps, so do your homework there. 35s are fine for the lower trails. 37s are great, but then leads to other Jeep mods to support those properly. Feel free to dm me.
Hey Chris! If you’re at all interested in California please let me know. I have some great trails and camp spot I’m willing to share. I made the switch to 37’s. They are great on the trail but the upgrades needed to properly run them is very expensive. I’ve spent $15k already and still need to regear and do ram assist steering, another $9k-$10k easily. Plus I get anywhere from 15mpg highway on 37 KO2s. My buddy runs 37 MT and sees 12-13mpg highway. I’d get some sway bar disconnects and a good set of 35’s in an aggressive mud terrain and you’ll be able to mostly everything. My buddies all run Yokohama Geolander MTs and love them. Get a quality winch, at least one snatch block, some tree savers, soft shackles, and a EZflate or Morflate compressor system and you’ll be set.
@@rxtu7367 I’d love to get out to California. Some friends are planning a 2026 trip to the Rubicon. I’m still debating that one but I have a year to build up for that.
@@Wrangler4XEFans I think the Rubicon is definitely do-able on 35’s and a 2” lift. You may need lockers but a winch would certainly be necessary if you don’t have lockers. I live in an area where we have relatively close access to some pretty awesome trails. Bald Mountain OHV is a moderate trail with great views of Shaver Lake if you’re ever in the Central Valley. The Dusy Ershim trail is arguably more difficult than the Rubicon and goes through some absolutely gorgeous high Sierra backcountry. There are so many trails out here due to the amount of public land. From Colorado to Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California, and Oregon you won’t go wrong! Also check out the Lost Coast Trail/Usal Beach, its in northern California and is a bucket list destination!
My plans are to have the recall done and trade in my Jeep for a Ford bronco probably I’m getting rid of Jeep. They screwed up already. I don’t know about everybody else, but I am pissed at Jeep for what they’re doing. This was my first Jeep I ever bought my woman and it will be my last.
Hey Chris, I have a gem of a campground for you to visit while you are going to Utah. Here's a great campground to visit. I fell in love with this place and I can't wait to go again. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/fONmcqD2lhA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=19HU7FRjrnMIi_4I If you want a travel companion I would love to go as well. I don't know what my plans are for next summer but I would be up for a good Jeep trip. Please keep me in mind. I don't know if I will even still have my jeep at that point. Who knows??? Anyway, I want so bad to go back to Utah this summer as well. Thanks for the consideration, Pat
Change of plans! We are heading to Moab tomorrow!! Should be there about 7-10 days!

Not yet. My serious off road Jeep is still getting repaired from my KY off road trip. My 392 sees minor off highway ventures.
Bald eagle state forest in PA. Awesome jeep trails and great camping.
