I like how much Rage Form and Dark Form contrasts each other, Rage Form being the wilder, aggressive formchange represented by the color red, Sora’s color, while Dark Form is the calmer, more controlled formchange represented by the color blue, Riku’s color.

And he's better for it.
It kind of makes sense before the keyblade graveyard. Roxas is still inside Sora’s heart before then, who’s to say he’s now just borrowing/tapping into his power for the time being. Idk about after the Keyblade Graveyard, maybe Roxas teaches Sora his moves (side note: yes I know Sora has double wielded before, but here he uses Roxas’s moves)

the yin-yang is fitting cause anyone that knows enough about a yin yang symbol knows that it's a prefect representation of both light and darkness, especially how the KH series protrays it.
Half being white with a black dot (darkness within light), and the other being the opposite (light within darkness). That's actually some amazing attention to detail that Nomura and his teams have done representing how yin and yang are.

I love how they incorporate a lot of Roxas' style in these forms, it feels like Sora is adapting what he learned.
Few more things: Light Form’s second combo finisher is similar to Roxas’s initial Final Limit in 358/2 Days where he summons multiple pillars of light with the Nobody symbol on top that radiate outwards.
Also, Double Form’s Finish command actually does resemble Dual-wield Roxas’s desperation move, Miracle Hour, only instead of his KH2FM version, it takes more cues from his 358/2 Days version, where he summons multiple large pillars of light that strike the area.
6:53 holy crap, that transition between the two shot-locks is amazing man.
Also i think the idle animation of Double Form where he spins the keyblades looks very similar to the "Dual Wield Introduction" move Roxas does when he fights Axel in KH2 and when he fights Riku in Days. He'll pull the two keyblades out of his "pockets", swirl them around, have them clash and then pull them back into his combat stance. What Sora does looks very similar. And his Finisher looks a lot like the Limit Attack first stage of Dual Wielding Roxas in Days, just with a lot more pillars and light and dark mixed.
Dual Wielding Roxas's Limit in Days is called Magic Hour FYI. Just letting you know.

It is. Some of The “new” abilities are from different aspects of the second game.
Yeah and, could be wrong but the attack at 12:48 reminds me to the aerial finisher of valor form in kh2 as well as the combo modifier at 14:05 reminds me of the second ground finisher of valor form as well

The way he dodges in double form caught me off guard when I first used it. I wasn’t expecting him to be so fast and sudden.
To be honest they fell fast but arent as fast as ultimate and rage since these 2 are teleport heel.

@@MisterPudd True, and at least you can use Double Form with either. I just wanted to alternate between both keyblades on my first crit playthrough.
that'd make it for the data battles but honestly risk taker trophy and 100% would have you rejecting it regardless. You don't need to get 100% with PRO Codes but if you want to do the real challenge of the DLC you'd be tuning off your cures your forms recovering mp would take twice as long while gradually losing mp hp having only 30 skills equipped 0 defense and no use of the triangle button asides when the game requires it for progressing. Enjoy the true endgame. lol. Mind you the PRO Codes go into the episodes the Data Battles and the Secret Episode. Oh but technically you still only get Oathkeeper after you beat the game. Shame it does activate double form with Master Form for 3 keyklades. like KH2.

I have said that with all the form changes, especially Ultima's before Oathkeeper and Oblivion returned. Like goodness, all those amazing moves and mastery to them. My boy is a master without needing the title from the exams.

And you manage to activate 2 double forms + Ultima form.
It's my new load out, with all three max upgraded.

having two double forms with ult, or Light and Dark at the same time with ult, is pretty damn cool.
I use that setup as well, though getting the forms out while fighting the re:mind extra bosses is tough haha...

I only use Kingdom Key Oathkeeper and Oblivion. These are my favorites
I really wish that formchange extender actually extended the form changes. I find it incredibly annoying how short their duration is and how you're encouraged to store them constantly.
agreed. I had hoped the Fast pass would have a infinite Formchange command so i could play the whole game with Double Form... shame.
EskChan19 oh does it really not have any way to increase them? I was hoping there’d be a slider for some stuff like links and forms
@@SSlash I'm two days late so I'm not sure if you found out yet, but there is a fast pass feature that lets the formchanges bar fill up automatically. As far as I know this is the closest thing they had to "infinite formchange."
This is one reason Drive forms will always reign supreme. You had control over which form and when to use said form, same goes for limits as well. Rng in an action-rpg with fast paced combat like KH3, doesn't mesh well, seems more like an after thought that just stuck. Better suits as a portable game mechanic imo like for an advance BBS system.
@@xXLunatikxXlul you need Donald and Goofy for drive forms, something that you definitely don't need in KH3. You can just play smart and spam your formchanges
The combat is so fast that it's hard to appreciate how badass the animations are. When you slowed them down in the video, it shows how cool and impactful the combat is. Imagine if you moved like that in Dark Souls.... Sorartorias for sure.
The attacks of these Two forms are like a mix of Roxas' and Sora's Attacks
Also the speed of all 3 forms are f****** insane
Also During Double Forms Finisher Forms a ☯ symbol for the perfect balance of Light and Darkness.

15:20 The attack might be moreso referencing his Magic Hour limit attack from Days and Re:Coded.
I lean more towards Dark Form as a preference, everything about using Oblivion is just aesthetically pleasing from the darkness summon animations in cutscenes to the impact noise.
I'm not sure how much of a difference that shift in attack and magic really is but Oblivion just ~feels~ like it hits harder.
A note about HP and MP Converter skills, these do NOT work like KH2's Drive Converter where munny is replaced with Drive orbs. What they do in KH3 is increase the overall value of their drop type by replacing the small prize with the large versions.
I also prefer Oblivion more than Oathkeeper.
Well, Oblivion has a higher attack stat than Oathkeeper and its own magic stat, but Okp therefore has better magic and the magic stat is just the same as the attack stat

I’m so glad I found this channel. I’ve been so interested in Sora’s combo animations since Kingdom Hearts II. I’m glad someone decided to explain what happens in his combos and to slow it down. It keeps me glued.
Slight nitpick: Double form doesn't just have abilities similar to Roxas, a large majority of Double form is based on his Valor drive form from Kh2. And the double form's finisher is actually based off of Dual Wielding Roxas's Limit break attack in 358/2 days (and re:coded when you fighting against him in castle oblivion as the final boss) and the oathkeeper attack finisher attacks is also based off of regular Roxas's limit break.
These forms feel so good to use. I love how they use moves from some of Sora’s KHII Drive Forms and even attacks Sora’s friends and enemies have used - Riku, Roxas, even Vanitas and Ventus. I’m very pleased, since Oathkeeper has been my favorite Keyblade ever since I got into the series.
4:58 this animation was used before, in BBS, Ventus vs Vanitas
also double form Finish is taken from 358/2 Days, it was Roxas Limit Break / Final Limit Break when you equip Oblivion/Oathkeeper in the game
On one hand, I prefer Oathkeeper over Oblivion. On the other, I prefer the colors and symbols used in the light effects in dark form. It’s a conundrum. Only solution is to use both!

I really wish Sora could use the power of darkness more. It's got so much possibility in it, I think that's why playing with terrain for me was so neat.
I mean that's not his thing. That's what Riku has, and Sora only uses it occasionally. While he doesn't fear using the dark (look at rage form holy shit) he is cautious about it, which is why he's pretty sparing with it. also light is more his thing I mean he says it constantly in these games. Half the abilities in these games for Sora have him saying "power" or "light"
@@jstar3382yeah but it doesnt have to be. Soras a moron after all, his best friend is someone who uses darkness all the time and is a part of him. Yet he vehenently denies darkness all the time, but constantly gives into it, which is always negative. DDD he loses the power of waking and all his skills. Kh2 has antiform. Kh1 he turns into a basic ass shadow. Kh3 has rage form which IS powerful but hes basically feral, no real control.
He denies darkness constantly , and so gets overwhelmed by it all the time. Thata why final form was so cool in kh2fm. You used twobecome one which made it so any drive form made you either anti form or final form (this is the only way to unlock final form) and once you acquire final form, antiform wont show up anymore, implying that by coming to terms with his darkness he reached his peak.

Honestly, I really appreciate how Osaka Team revised some of these movements and attacks from the original jp team that developed Kh1 and kh2. Great props to them. I also have to admit that Osaka team's combat is getting better along with that.

Unpopular opinion (yes already): Sonic Dodge needs to become Sora's new base dodge.
I was honestly expecting Sora to gain an improved dodge roll and maybe a barrier at some point in the story to his base form. Of course that was back when I expected form leveling to be a thing.

Honestly, instead of two keyblades that are very similar to each other, I wish the game gave us Two become One and the form change is using Oathkeeper and Oblivion at the same time as Dual Wielding. Would have been much cooler that way than having two separate keyblades that basically function the same way.
And the first form before Double can be a form that is like good old Anti-Form for KH2, that way when you get Double Form you purify the Darkness and the Keyblade becomes the two. Proving a theory I have that the Two Become One keyblade is a fusion of Oathkeeper and Oblivion.
Ron Gamer I always thought Dark Form should have just been Rage Form, and the update just renames it(I mean their both conceptually the same thing)
@@zirotsero6951 I get what you mean, but the context for them are different. Dark Form is from Sora's mastery over the Darkness, Rage Form is Sora losing that control in the heat of the moment when close to death. Then there is Anti Form, which happens when Sora uses the power of the Light to much. The Stronger the Light, the greater the Shadow.

At 14:06 you mentioned Launching Thrust which is one of the Finishers of Valor Form while he is on the Ground. At least it reminds me of that jump twirl Animation he does in KH2! :)

5:45 Light form's Guard could be more alike to Kairi's barrier guard when shes playable in Remind.
I feel like the Charge Attack is similar to Ven's Charge Attack when he's fighting Vanitas in BBS. They look too similar to me.
Things that you may not point out:
The spinning strike and ground smash reminiscence of Valor's combo finish
Oath's Black Hole finish is a throwback to Xion/Rox's Event Horizon Limit Break from Days or KH2FM
Double's Finish command is a throwback from Rox's Magic Hour Limit Break from Days or Recoded
The Full Shotlock is another throwback to Roxas from KH2 except it's a galaxy rather than just a sunset.
There may be more.

The tip of Oblivion is a Fleur-de-lis that is found in Ven's Lost Memories

Launching Thrust is seemingly based on one of Valor Forms finishers, You can also see the name of the Barrier skills and the finisher in the ability menu
The finisher remind me of trinity limit. Also the hud design for light form looks like an angel heartless. Tht's cool.
I see a Light or Dark Form will turn into Double Form, so it will be just like Dusk Mane or Dawn Wing Necrozma will bursting into Ultra Necrozma from Nintendo’s Pokémon.
Except this time both Keyblades are available in the game instead of "Buy Re:mind Light for Oathkeeper and Re:mind Dark for Oblivion" approach of gamefreak.
I believe launching thrust in double form is one of Valor forms finishers isn't it?

Sora's double form finisher is almost the same as roxas' special attack in RE:coded.
That's not the light kanji, which looks like this "光" The symbol on light more is similar but not the same.
I thought so too...that is the keyblade's teeth symbol
Something else I noticed is when you guard in Double Form, the glow is similar to when you take Roxas' Keyblades in KH2, purely cosmetic but still a nice touch.

I'm surprised that you picked up that the one finisher was Master form casting fire, but didn't catch that the attacking dodge and the pillars were reminiscent of Valor form (12:19 and 14:43)

I want a true form with three keyblades of ultimate keyblade, Oath Keeper, and oblivion. Have the two keyblades floating around Sora while fighting with the ultimate keyblade.

Hidden Detail: If you equip the Oblivion Keyblade during the Xion and Roxas Returns cutscene. The Purple Crystal on it is actually glittering.

It’s actually omega finale. I was close though! Over the horizon is the spinning finisher that he does to close the distance. Finale is executed mid-combo or as a finisher.

Naht really lol. Its like an add on combo form combination wit this new form since you can equip 3 key blades hehehe.. Doing a form attack and quickly changing into another form to do another attack I mean which is cool honestly.
Plus Sora can do form combine (valor+Wisdom= master and Dark+Light=Double)
So.. theoretically.. he can make "ultimate double form" or.. even better.. "ULTIMATE FINAL FORM!!"
But since there was another theory that Sora can summon the χ-blade because Xehanort gave it to him lol. So if the χ-blade has a form change and can be combined with those forms... he would probably go.. "ULTIMATE FINAL FORM χ!!"

Something I wanted to point out is that the spiral charge animation looks very similar to Vens animation when he uses dark spiral during his final fight with Vanitas

when the update rolled out I immediately grabbed the Oathkeeper on my Proud save, did a new game plus on Critical, and plowed through the game just to get Oblivion, those keyblades are fun to use
