I totally agree. He showed them an old trick with added asian technique. Even in their prime, they could not have done this as smoothly as Daxien did.... And I'm disappointment they didn't say that outright.

The real reason people go on the show has nothing to do with P&T directly, because both the person(s) on stage and P&T know that the magician(s) are primarily trying to get their act on TV. Outside of casino shows and magic specific venues, there aren't too many places where it is financially viable to get hired for a major show. The tricks that might actually fool P&T are often not the ones that are showy and draw an audience, which is the main point of the show.
You're never going to fool Penn & Teller with one of their signature tricks, but they still loved every moment of this performance, so that's a win in its own right.
Yeah I absolutely enjoyed his performance of it. Sometimes it's simply not about trying to reinvent a trick, but how it's performed that makes all the difference. And besides, he got a new sub out of me. I look forward to seeing his other tricks.
If they knew how he was doing the trick, they would, or should have known how many balls were underneath the pans at any time. Love all 3 of those guys!!! Amazing Talent!
I honestly didn't think anyone could make this classic old and often-repeated trick come alive again, but you managed to add a new zest to it! Thank you for a very enjoyable performance.

Ya, I watched it frame at a time and you can definitely see his right hand disappear under the bowl while throwing something.. but.. it's hard to see how he's got enough room to palm two real eggs (and presumably one fake squishy one). But, it's possible he actually slights the two real eggs one at a time just before he cracks em open. In other words, 3 fake eggs on the table, he palms one real egg in his hand as he picks up one of the 3 fake squishy ones, cracks the real one, discards shell and first squishy one, while he palms the 2nd real one, picks up 2nd squishy one, cracks real.. discards shell and 2nd squishy, and then picks up last fake one to start the chicken trick, which he pretty clearly loads from the back edge of the table.
The energy and everything is awesome. I would love to see you add more to this routine so it can take more time. I find it so entertaining, and with eggs! I can't imagine the time you practiced! Keep up the great work!
the ending got me completely bamboozled. taking an age-old trick and changing the outcomes is pretty genius....makes people go "oh i know how this goes", then something completely different happens just blows their mind

About her.. i am not from the west.. nor much into movies or TV.. so was unaware of who she is. . But she seems a bit awkward or not at (as much) ease as the previous anchor/ hostess.

It's a show in celebration of magic. She exaggerated her reactions, as do Penn and Teller to some extent, because they want to hype up these magicians, even if they sometimes see through the act.

To do the balls and cups in front of penn and teller takes guts, to do it this damn well takes incredible skill. This is one of my favorite tricks, i love slight of hand and i always love seeing new takes on it
I know all there is to know about the cups and balls. But this man made that all brand NEW. It was rapid fire, fun, funny, intense, and totally IMPOSSIBLE. I loved it!!
This was not only the best Cups&Balls, it was the funniest ever. Damien, you have such a great character and great humor and a huge talent, it's a pleasure to watch you. Only one chicken at the end was unnecessary, because there was no trick involved and it diminished your art a little bit. Otherwise a perfect routine and I would love to watch a show from you in Austria :)

Great personality, great magic, and one incredible performance! I would’ve said, “you did the cups and balls so good, we know it wasn’t the cups and balls,” just to give him the damn trophy!
There's two ways to win Fool Us: 1) Getting the trophy 2) Putting on a fantastic performance of something fully known Daxien didn't get the trophy, but he absolutely won with his performance.
It’s very hard to fool P&T with the cups and balls trick. But gosh that was, as Penn said, the best ever version and that even means the clear plastic cup version they did. What an incredible trick and sleight of hand, absolute extraordinary, what a huge talent.

Several years ago I had the privilege of seeing Penn and Teller live and they performed the cups and balls.....with transparent cups. It was funny and still amazing. I think many of us know how it's done. For many aspiring magicians, it's one of the first serious slight of hand trick they will learn. At least for me, that doesn't matter when I see a version like this done with humor and originality.
no pen and teller trophy but another like and comment beside other many that you already have and received i sure is enought for you to understand you are an amazing magician. congrats
even though i second guessed the ending, the moment the large pans came out and it was eggs.. i still brought out the childlike awe in me, to see the chicken (despite already anticipating it). You finesse in handling the props and some of the misdirection really add stars to the performance.
a lot of the magicians they bring on, they know they won't fool them, but P&T like to encourage and bring attention to talented magicans all over the world, and that is neat.
You took the cups and balls to a completely different level! I thought it was better than even the performance Penn and Teller did on Late Night with clear cups.
This gentleman was amazing, and very funny, and would love to see more of him doing other magic! I have a good understanding of how cups and balls work and I tried to follow what he was doing and when, and it was impossible! His technique was just perfect, and all of those fast hand movements just made it that more confusing. I still said out loud to myself "where the F--- did that come from???" hahaha I knew he probably wouldn't fool them, but sometimes Penn and Teller just like and just want to be entertained. :-)

In theory they may know the principle, but during THIS version of the trick, I think they were seriously confused several times.

Alison brought such an authentic vibe to all of her interactions with the guests. This new host has some pretty big shoes to fill.
Thats the sort of magic I appreciate, no gimmicks pure skill. On another note Alison has changed a lot since I last saw this program.
