Music video by Culture Club performing I'll Tumble 4 Ya (2004 Digital Remaster).
Just dawned on me how special of a vocalist this man was. Boy George is the most underrated singer of the 80s by far. Going back and listening to these gems of CC makes me brim with the utmost appreciation of their body of work ❤
You are absolutely correct
Underrated? Are you serious? I was a teenager when this song came out, believe me he was a very big deal!!!
@@franknberry333 I mean he should even be more appreciated now as a huge part of what made the MtV generation feel like we were all privileged to a simultaneous transformative multicultural explosion of things much of us never knew of or had ever been exposed to living in our little bubble; I remember Time: Clock of the Heart getting major air play on all the black radio stations whose focus was solely on soul and R&B cookie cutter groups and big name acts before the advent of hip-hop. Boy George was a goddess/god to people I never thought would dig him for his drag aesthetic and European doing our style of singing better than a ton of other black and american singers. His gift was not even attempting but putting on a display of how it's done, at such a young age at that. His story is epic - but he gets a bad rap too much in modern media in my opinion. Culture Club was a movement - reggae rock pop femininity and masculinity in the vocals, usually almost always flawless, rangy while subtle nuances in his tone. Him, Michael Jackson, and George Michael were masterful at that skill of their way of each singing. The 80s was the best decade of music ever I say without hesitation ❤

INDEED!💯
This was quite the change of pace from "Do You Really Want to Me?" It really show the diverse nature of this group.
Just like the band members themselves! 😄
I had no idea back in the day that mikey craig (bassist, piano) worked with Jermaine Stewart who replaced Jeffrey Daniels in Shalamar. They were the original reality group who got their start on Soul Train. Jermaine also danced on American Bandstand as well who sadly died of AIDS. His Song We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off was voted by Glamour Magazine one of the best songs about Safe Sex in it's us edition. Clea a short lived girl group also did their version who didn't make girls aloud on Popstars The Rivals in 2002.😊
Oh really I didn't know that thanks for the update
Oh the memories of the 80's
For sure
Woke up on New Year's Day 2025 with this song in my mind for some reason 🙂 80s were the best times ever!
The 80's were the best! Music, fashion & trends.
My favorite song of theirs. And Naomi Campbell’s video debut.
Edit: It was her 2nd music video after Bob Marley’s video for “Is this Love” in 1978.
Asando Pollo
Was she one of the tap dancers?
Wrong, she already appeared in Marley's "Is this love" video shot in 1978 😉
@ Oh wow, learn something new everyday.
@@oldesalt10310 yes
How can so much time have passed? I remember when this released and I first saw this video on TV. Wow.
Oh how I miss the 80's. If I could do it all over again, I will be hanging with Boy George and his crew.
I'm bringing back the 80's
Right on.. this is my fave song of theirs
I like Karma Chameleon
Same.
Yes the 50s 60s 70s and 80s best music 🎶 time's!!!!
One of the best things about this video is how comfortable George seems to feel being himself. He looks like he's genuinely having a great time and it makes me happy. 😆
Yeah :D
Same 😊😊
If’s uu
it's part of the sound track of my high school years. Didn't care for his work then, but forty years on? My appreciation grows steadily ...
Amen 🙏🏽
Culture Club has a long history of bringing genres from different parts of the world into its music. Love it!
Very very true, much like Bow Wow Wow only better!
Yes,I saw interviews with Boy George thats pretty much where the name of the band came from he wanted all cultures to understand his music,it fits
Hence the name lol but yes absolutely ❤
This was the best decade we will ever know Life was good. People were kinder. Families loved each other. Culture Club ruled.

THOSE WHO WERE THERE & HAVE DECENT MEMORIES,
THEY WILL ATTEST THAT THIS SONG ALONG WITH BASICALLY EVERYTHING OTHER SONG WERE THE SHIT ALL DAY EVERY DAY !!!!!
KILLE❤D THE AIRWAVES !!!!!
The 80's would NOT be complete without Mr. George! : ) The 80's/ MTV 'spawned' many interesting and (eventually) legendary musical artists.
And Madonna and Cyndi lauper and Billy Idol and the Smiths
You can tell George and Co. are really having fun
goofing around in a dance school!! Great melody!
Love George's coat at 1:34! ❤🧥
I know I totally love this video
I can never listen to this song anymore without thinking of ‘Billy Madison’ and the dance on the staircase
Pure gold all around 🖤

Boy George broke sooo many barriers! Way ahead of his time. Thank goodness he stayed true to himself!
Boy George and my generation were right on time. Just, some people were stuck in the past.
I know like me too my favorite movie is Little mermaid
Boy George & Culture club is another reason why the 80’s were such an amazing place.
I was born in the 80s. That's the most amazing thing about that decade 😂😢
I'm a Metal Head but, this song is just incredible on so many levels!
same here! I agree
Amen, hit some born of osiris, then king crimson, and oh holy fuck ILL TUMBLE FOR YOU!
@@sp00g37 haha 😆 I feel ya brother
What if I told you this song sounds like Boy George is a bottom and the other guy he's saying can be a top?! Lmao *I'm punny! 😂
When he's not w/ the dudes...
Gonna send this back to him just bc. We're so unhealthy for each other... but at least we like music? Also, 0:54 hey look, it's the dude from ratm
In 2021 it's unreal how fresh this song still sounds. What a band,,what a Boy. Still can't get enough of them. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Completely agree. Saw them on Long Island NY last week. Amazing concert
It's 2023, 40 years after release and I still love, love, love their songs. They are true CLASSICS!
2023, now. January 10th. Still sounds like that. ❤️
I was listening to this in 1983 back when all my friends listened to metal 😂
@@JaxonSmitherses mejor escuchar esta canción Asando pollo.
What happened to the music, fun, creativity and camp today? Lets bring it back!
+Paul Purcell We can't have that today because it's all about who is the most oppressed and social activism. There's no room for fun in social activism.
+Anthony DeVito Nah, social activism can be fun, like Country Joe's 'Vietnam War Rag' & the video for Genesis' "Land of Confusion" but it requires artists that are famous for their witty songwriting, not just youthful looks & hyper-sexual dancing like the last 20 years or so. :-/
Ethical Mage I think he is being sarcastic, not literal...
+Ethical Mage "Social activism" is fucking COMMUNISM. there is no fun in communism, just hard labor and oppression, so FUCK COMMUNISM . the only good commie is a dead commie.

"Asando Pollo, Asando Pollo" 🎶🎶🎶
Jajajaja 😂
No entiendo
@@Brenda-ny1gw "I'll tumble for ya" in this song to Spanish speakers sounds like "Asando pollo" which means roasting chicken.
@@ShawnFerrell got it lmao
Thank you so much for this
The bass lines are just so funky.
You got that right
Not sure how many others remember this when it came out, but CC was seminal. Boy George broke barriers. Duran Duran, Cindy Launer, Spandau, depeche, and Culture Club were just several that made the 80’s iconic and unforgettable.
That's right!!!
Veramente quel cognome è lauper(un altro mito)non launer...🤣
Boy George was on fire in '83. He had two songs in the top 40 the week this song came in. The other one being Time.

This is another great song from Boy George his music videos are so fun to watch lively and colourful

One of the greatest bands of the 80's. They were way head of their time
This song made me clean house many times! At 57, Culture Club was my it group in the '80's! My mom LOVED this song too.
When I'm feeling down, this song always lifts me up and I feel so much better!!
I know for me too
Just happened to me, it was on the radio while cleaning 😊
Boy George a legend human Kind didn't deserve but man I'm glad we got him!

It's 2022 and the more I hear this song, the more I'm hearing the melody of an oldie "Jeepers Creepers" in the opening melody as well as under the lyrics
"Downtown we'll drown
We're in our never splendor
Flowers
Showers"
Is this an homage to that song??
WOW now I can't unhear it
Oh snap you are totally right
The 80s!!! Unmatched thus far!!!💯🔥
When this song gets stuck in my head I have to play it and sing along. Love this song so much.
This song and Karma Chameleon are stuck in my head every single day lmao
I loved him then I love him now! He was and always will be an original
I wasn't into the NuWave in the '80s I was in the metal head corner wearing my blue jean jacket but I still can't appreciate the good time music we had back then
Yep true this is totally awesome
Someone put Boy George in a safety-bubble please! Too many awesome 80's singers dying :(
Jennifer Brandenburg no way my friend i ain't doing that
I have a good feeling that Boy George isn't going anywhere soon, and I normally don't have a lot of good feelings.
Best comment :')
I totally agree!!!!
Someone needs to put me in safety-bubble wrap
Jennifer Rankin he's been through hell and back n I hope we'll be hearing alot more from BOY GEORGE MY LOVELY

I always envision Billy Madsion dancing down stairs when I hear this. It will be forever associated with that lol.

I was trying to figure out wot film I heard it out of
This was the first and only time I've ever heard this song. Now anytime I watch Billy Madison, this song gets stuck in my head like an infectious earworm. 😂
That's pretty pathetic then
Oh the memories of lunch in high school Cafe with this song playing
Anybody else remembering Adam Sandler dancing down the stairs in Billy Madison or, dancing like he did to this song?
was just about to comment this. just rewatched billy madison😂
That’s exactly why I’m here
That is how I discovered this song and I dance like him in that scene everytime
We had never seen anything like boy George! But when the music played we looked way past that! I knew then how powerful music is
1 of the Great Queens of modern music! 1 of my fav bands ever!
Never been another era like the 80s! So proud to be an 80s kid!!!!!
I could watch George dance all day! It's too cute. #80s4life
I tend to write off this group as 1980s fluff but they were truly groundbreaking at the time. They introduced into pop music sounds that were not familiar to many people at the time. This song is unique in that it combines Latin and reggae sounds in the same song. They sometimes did Motown better than Motown (e.g., "Time (Clock of the Heart)" and "Miss Me Blind").
Those are great songs yes true
Heard this playing in a Walmart in Pennsylvania. Made me groove.
Did it make you shoot a Violent Load?
Love me some boy George you rock boy George love you always and forever
No body can move like George. I could watch him dance forever... ♡☆
His dancing style is unique❤️ love it

When my dad wasn't looking, his girlfriend's daughter who was 15 and I was 6; took me into her room and dressed me up like Boy George! It was awesome! A few years ago I found her on FB and I thanked her for doing that for me. It was sweet!
I'm glad you were able to stand up to your dad and come out like that. Good for you!
@@kanegarvey848 What a weird thing to reply. There are so many assumptions. Boy George was an inspirational icon for all genders and sexes. His fashion and music hasn't faded and are as cool today as they were 40 years ago. If I were a betting man, and I am, Loki was born a female XX, and is a very attractive woman. So if they came out of a closet, it wasn't for reasons you're thinking.
@@milesgillespie6665 yeah that's what I said.

Great Memories of being 18, 19, & 20 and dancing / listening to their music.
But "Time (Clock of the Heart)", & "Victims" both have sentimental value for me.
Of course BG is awesome as usual. I also think Roy Hay is so darn cute💋
I think they were all cute.
Miss and Love❤️ Him and the group
Damn he got the moves keep going
I love the bands relaxed humour throughout this clip. Everyone just being themselves, so relaxed, appealing & enjoyable. Top track BTW.

I was in Sydney Australia not too long ago at a bar for adults that was connected to what Aussies call a "Milk Bar" where kids hang out. I heard this song when I walked in and asked where this song was playing and the bartender pointed me the next room. I looked through the door and saw all of these kids all under the age of 16 dancing to this song. (lol) I just shook my head and smiled.
