I'm starting to play this game more frequently and I'm trying to figure how to play most effectively and your breakdown of the rotation is very helpful
The best, and honestly onlu real redeeming quality of ESO is making builds. I made imo the best fake tank build known, for someone who didnt have access to those unique 1 piece set items at least lol. Build guides are great to get ideas, but as long as you play ESO to actually play it, and dont die the second you get boss aggro due to somehow never learning to dodge, youre already better than 90% of ESO npc..... woops i meant "players". So yeah just fuck around with the crazy amount of build diversity and have fun with it. Also i highly suggest making a full stam NB tank. It turns dungeons from a bore fest, to actually being fun and engaging. Also faster. Just get a taunt and a couple debuffs (i personally love the staff debuff, as unlike the NB debuff, you can put it on multiple enemies). My personal stamblade tank build used sets that gave 50% LA attack speed and damage, plus like another 2100 extra LA damage. Combine this with that ability that lets you cast after 5 light attacks and does big damage/heal (i would frequently swap this set out for the plague whatever set, but the other set is more fun to play with as it has a 5 second big DPS spike, then a 10-15 second down time to reset buffs, taunt, heal, whatever)..... you can keep up fairly easy in damage, AND you dont really use any stamina with abilities so you can always dodge when needed. That build is great also because if your teammates die, its pretty easy to solo whatever they died to.

not stong enough? so 18-20k over 20 seconds is not strong? over 2k self heal. you’re looking from the outside, depending on your damage level is what depends on your results. If you’re seeing low numbers, thats your build and we’re talking “consuming trap not split trap” and sometimes it hits harder than structured entrophy. You might see more split trap in pve for aoe purposes and consuming is more pvp but works great on bosses in pve.
I guess it’s gonna take a long while but so far with this build I’ve only managed to get to 48k dps. Can’t get very much higher than that. Maybe I need more champ points? Idk. Can’t get relequins cause no one wants to help me with trials :/ so I guess I’m stuck with dead water’s guile. Tho idk if it’s that good. Hundings rage or briar heart seems better to me. More crit or whatever. But idk

I just decided to go for Deltia's build and got the Wading Kilt for the occasion, the setup is quite similar to yours too except it's DW/2H (I can do DW/Bow too) and Venomous Smite is replaced by Kinra. It hits super hard, but since this is the most updated and for Update 34, I'm really torn if I should keep Deltia's build or just yolo this newly updated one once I'm able to make the change. Btw, is it possible to use Twisting Path in place of Shadow Image with minimal difference in DPS? Shadow is great but I like Twisting Path too.
@@marleypoppins-- Your guess would be as good as mine. But both Shade and Trap have what Twisting doesn't. They eat at the enemies themselves, they aren't static on the ground.
@@TheGravityShifter If you don't know why twisting path is normally used, and what consuming trap is used for, why are you arguing the toss about gear on builds? Have you never run a NB before? Yes, twisting path is a very viable replacement, and will supply a decent amount of ae damage, whilst still giving very good single target target damage. It is a staple NB skill and usually on most builds. As it is a shadow skill, it will also give you a slight health buff on whatever bar it is added to. The 'eat at your enemies'.is not exactly valid as you are using arrow barrage and barbed trap. The primary reason he is using consuming trap is due to lack of spell slots and a want to add more damage, whilst still giving some sort of sustain. The reason stamblades don't ever have sustain issues is due to leeching strikes, which gives you both a heal and stam return on heavy and light attacks, this is not included on this build. This is not dependant on the mob dying, it works on every mob-type. If you are on a Boss fight, consuming trap is going to give you back zero resources over the course of the fight, unless that boss has adds. So, yes, use path if you want, but you are going to probably want leeching strikes on bosses, regardless. All ways around, this is looking highly like a build for trash with relatively poor single target capabilities.

Which makes me believe in some way you're replying in a less positive way over our disagreement of gear, thus making me not really like you as a result. Is that fair to say? Yes I have played a NB before, my main toon is a Nightblade. I also have a RangedBlade Hybrid and a Magblade. It doesn't make me a total expert on things, but I'm confident in saying I prefer open mindedness on things. Also, I don't know who you're really replying to even though it's directed to me, but I'm asking about Twisting Path vs Shadow Image, the other guy was talking about Consuming Trap vs Twisting.

Shade is used on most builds and is used in my beta NB and my magblade consuming trap us used on neither. I have 18 characters, and all classes, and I can't recall a time I thought," Gee let's slot consuming trap". Yes it is also directed towards yourself too, when arguing base game sets and dps levels when you don't know basic skills. People are asking for help, telling them you don't know is just a waste of space. We parse this crap on dummies. We spend hours testing different sets and builds and additionally theory-crafting. When I am saying something is non-viable it comes from 8 years of playing every piece of content on every class knowing all the skills and passives from the top of my head and knowing what is needed and required in said content. This is also annoying. Play what you want. Give people useless advice. The build is broken in a bad way and should be fixed. It is not what I gave come to expect from Xynode. The last few build have had... issues. He is trying so hard to avoid meta he is not considering the content the builds are designed for. People don't struggle with trash, they struggle with bosses.
@@pklemming Interesting cuz I'm pretty sure Xynode tested what he's recommending too. So far whatever builds I have tried from him have done exactly what I should expect from them. His EasySorc allows me to do pretty much everything in the game, even Vet Solo Arenas with no issue apart from my own skills in them, and I use the Briairheart choice. You boast years of experience and Xynode does too. He's shown what he does is viable. There is conflicting information here. The only difference is Xynode can prove his builds work well and I've tried them so Ik they do from experience. And there it is... the meta thing. It's not all about meta. Sure it proves there's a "perfect" combo. But these setups also work well and arguably more accessible, and can stand the test of time in rare cases so you're not changing stuff every 3 months. I don't get the stingy behavior. The meta only really matters to the 1% type of players anyway. The day there's a DPS check in a Vet Trial that only meta can conquer, will be the day I will support Meta. Now, I really don't care about debating so I think I'm done here.
There are so many better sets that DWG, especially after the nerf some patches back. Rele, always, as long as you can keep up your light attacks. There are a ton of other options, none of them DWG. DWG is, at best, a trash set for group content, but pretty damn useless 5 piece on any boss fight and useless in trials in it's current form. Pre-nerf?yes; now? No. Equally, I guess you could run front bar/JC Drake's rush and bash the crap out of stuff every 18 seconds for an extra 24 ulti. Don't even need to get a killing blow.
@@pklemming I guess it really depends on things. It's only an option and it's most likely just a cheaper choice compared to the 1st set choice rather than definitive. And I believe it's not wise to underestimate even "trash" sets. Some people can run really goofy setups and still do an amazing job in PvE or PvP. Meta isn't everything and can be a detriment at times since it ignores potential from less popular choices.
@@TheGravityShifter That is very true, but if we talk overland sets only, there are a lot of sets with a better 2-4 and a 5th slot that is usable all the time. NBs can do decent ae damage, but are really know for their single target capabilities. The use of DWG pretty much cripples that, with a poor 2-4 and a 5th set that won't proc on the majority of boss fights. If you want weird, you can use Mad Tinkerer on a Stam NB now( thanks to hybridisation), or Defiler (if you are theming it). Shalk Exo would give you better 2-4 and permanent minor heroism, or, something like Eye of Grasp would give you Ulti for critting, and no tie up the option for gaining minor hero None of these cripple you on a boss fight and all have better 2-4 bonuses. In trials it would also be useless on trash, as you are no longer competing against one other dd, but possible up to 8 This is just overland. There are a massive number of options in the game without following the meta. In general, most of the dps difference is practicing and getting your rotation down anyway, but choice of sets does help.

When do you use an ultimate? for example, single target. And do you use it while in execute mode as well?
Yes but sometimes its waste of DPS, if you are running out of stamina drop one heavy>ult>spam blade + pot ofc you can spam another 15 on avg
