    Nice one Austin. I think his editing was just fantastic, we'll make our transitions consistant, but other than that Austin will be able to save me a ton of time and really help us all out! What did you all think? How good did the dashboard look? How do you feel about Austin doing whole videos with the voice over?

    Very cool and a great way to dress up the very plain boring dashboard. Good work!

    I just used a strip of blue painters tape to cover the xp tracker.

      Cheers Rob, I thought exactly the same, I've thought about doing it for years and always thought "whats the point", seeing this changed my mind!

    Oh FYI I love the cartoon of me. You gave me the prince harry look how UK of you. I feel so royal now.

      It’s Prince William, the heir to the throne of our country, but don’t worry about it, it’s good you know there are countries outside of the US! :-D

    • @TheGameWarrior
      @TheGameWarrior 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Watch It Paint It I know it’s prince William. I have to pretend to be the dumb American lol. Plus prince harry is cooler and has more hair. Which is secretly what I want more hair lol.

    You start with your wound peg in "0" to show you have no wounds. As you get wounded you move the peg up and when you get to "3" you're dead :) -
    Nice idea on the dash boards and a good job by Austin. Bit of a shame that the black paint used for neatening up around icons doesn't quite match the black on the base spray. Not a big deal but it does show up

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is that how you're supposed to play it?! Hehe, even so still seems stupid :-D
      Yeah we noticed the black didn't quite match, or the additional coat messed it up slightly. My advice would be don't make any mess that needs neatening up :-D

    • @BadgerLovingFluffster
      @BadgerLovingFluffster 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess the idea is to have the peg somewhere safe until you need it to mark wounds, but I agree with you. It is sort of counter intuitive. As for not messing up? I'll do my best! (ain't gonna happen ;) )

    Looks great! I'll definitely be doing this with my Massive Darkness hero dashboards. Do you have a video on your channel about how you finish your projects? Some kind of sealer? I'd imagine a piece like that dashboard especially that will see lots of handling you'd want some kind of clear coat to protect the paint.

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Eric, that’s funny I was just thinking about doing this to my Massive Darkness dashboards too! I don’t often show how I seal the models it’d be a fairly boring bit at the end of all my videos. I use Army Painter’s Aegis Suit - Satin Varnish. Quick coat from 20-30cm away all round seals my paint jobs nicely

    Seems like alot of work when most of the detailed icons will be covered up during gameplay. It def adds some bling when you first pull it out at the game table. Possibly a good Varnish of your choice over the top of it once your finished should help keep things from showing wear. Maybe even a double coat or two around the wound and XP Peg holes.

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've wondered about that too, its nice when you first whip them out at least, get that "wow factor", at least they don't take too much time, I bet I could do all 6 in under an hour. Definitely needs a solid varnish over, can see this taking some batter. I'd like to see Austin's after some play, espcially as you say around the peg holes!

  • @TheGameWarrior

    Overall it took me less than 40 minutes to paint the hero dashboard after it was all primed.

    I guess my only concern is the Paint wearing off where you use the pegs unless you made then slightly larger before you started.

    • @TheGameWarrior
      @TheGameWarrior 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ray Slover With a nice layer of Aegis suit satin varnish. It will last a long time. Plus the pegs should fit fine as long as you don’t over prime.

  • @TreverHarvey
    @TreverHarvey 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice job, Austin! Would you protect the xp tracker when you varnish, or just spray over it?

    • @TheGameWarrior
      @TheGameWarrior 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just spray over it with light thin coats.

  • @TheBbari
    @TheBbari 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey do you think the paint will hold up if I paint the tracker? They are black but I was thinking of making one of each color to match the 6 colored bases?

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like this idea! I imagine it might take a little too much wear? But I guess mostly on the underside. You’ll need to varnish them well to protect them, and there’s a chance the paint and varnish might make the tracker too think to slide in the cut out?

  • @roelvankriekinge1977
    @roelvankriekinge1977 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice idea, and very well done. Just one question. Do the slider & pegs still function properly (and doesn't it scratch the primer off)?

    • @WatchItPaintIt
      @WatchItPaintIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I bet the slider is completely fine because it slides on the paper part? But I suspect the pegs might wear it off in time? Not sure how strong varnish is on something that’s used as heavily. Austin might know a lot more but I bet he hasn’t played with them yet

    • @TheGameWarrior
      @TheGameWarrior 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They function perfectly. With a nice layer of Aegis suit satin varnish. It will last a long time.

    • @TheGameWarrior
      @TheGameWarrior 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eskild Jørgensen push down gently on the xp tracker health bar near the gap and turn the slider and push.They are meant to pop out so you can replace them.
