I love naruto, but the creator really kinda screwed up with narutos charscter lmao. He must have forgotten the main theme of the manga by the time of the war.
Main theme is how you take it honestly I felt like the main theme was him becoming hokage and overcoming any challenge in his way to obtain that goal, losing the underdog factor of the story isnt really as big of a deal as that guy made it hes acting like Naruto is running around bragging about being the strongest shinobi and talking about how he came from nothing. I dont see anything hyprocrite about naruto, he was humble till the end, he remembered that if it wasnt for his friends he wouldnt have that power and he was thankful for everything even though his life was not perfect
It's like he never really got it down, generally. But he was close enough us to get us all at age 12 saying, "Oh yeah, I think this shit's pretty good!"
Nope Clyde to the recuse lol He does have good points but he’s too simplistic missing a lot of shit Clyde goes over. And You do realize underdogs don’t stay weak and does get strong eventually? Lol
@@LeaderOfTheLostSouls The way you're using "strong" is too simplistic. Strength isn't exclusive to 'the individual'. The point of Naruto is that strength of the individual is beat by strength of the many. That's a good message, but the contradiction of Naruto is that he has both. He has friends but he's also mentored and blood relative to very powerful individuals, AND he's a Jinchūriki. It backsteps what the intended message was, because if Naruto didn't have all that to begin with, he'd definitely be just like Iruka.
When you actually start compiling a list of all the bullshit powers everybody has in this series, you begin to realize just how far from the original concept the author snowballed downhill. This was supposed to be about ninjas. By the end it's about gods, demigods, and magic kaijuu having a Clash of the Titans. The most relevant comparison I think of off the top of my head is Aizen from Bleach. His evil master plan was so convoluted that nobody knew what he was doing. I think even the AUTHOR lost track of what his own villain was doing, and by extension, the plot of the story.
and now the same exact thing is happening with boruto and kawaki... except kawaki had to undergo extreme physical and mental torture to obtain his powers while boruto gets his because he just happened to be present when naruto and sasuke where tearing momoshiki a new one. boruto and sarada already have the god genetics from birth, heck even mitsuki but at least his story is interesting
I feel the same, and i hope people enjoy the "premier" of this as i will be in the live chat through the whole time it is up. trying new things that i hope you guys will enjoy.
something I never noticed until now due to this video is the similarity between kushinas capture and hinatas by the cloud village for what they posses inside....and people still don't think the pairs were obvious and figured out long ago?..the hinata flashback was in the manga like over a half dozen years before the kushina one but their similar stories if you think about it...another connection
You know the manga series is hypocritical when the fire nation who is self proclaim justice and wants to bring peace to ninja world birth the most amount of psychopaths and villains. You have itachi who murdered his entire family and join a terrorist organization to save his later on psychopathic brother who also becomes a terrorist. Then you have Obito, Danzo and Orochimaru who has done pretty much all the shady and despicable shit in the story. Finally, there's Madara who is pretty much the biggest deep shit in that verse. Yet, everyone after the war still acts like Konoha is the savior of entire world when they're the one who caused it in the first place.
thats like saying that because humans exist, they can turn bad. madara was after the infinite genjutsu plan because of well, the outside world, obito wasnt just after the plan because of rin, he observed the world, and saw how shity and shity (obviously he only saw the dark part) it was. plus u are wrong, fire nation doesnt proclaim justice, i think you meant konoha, but same goes on for that, they know their hands are not clean, but all u stated is literally a product of the rest of the world. and take a look back, hashirama was the one trying to maintain peace, but it was the other kage who made it close to impossible. and i dont think everyone acts like konoha is the savior, because it is Naruto who is the "saviour". and peace didnt come just because they won the war, there was a lot of things they had to do post war because the world was in chaos even though they won the war, and in the novels (which some of them also got adapted in the anime), it is konoha who sends missions to stop fix these issues. peace didnt just come 1 day randomly after they won the war. and konoha never proclaimed themselves to be the savior
@@ichigoat_solos people always love to joke that hinata is a stalker(when she never really stalks naruto in the manga) but naruto and sakura legit stalk and confront psycho sasuke twice when he wants to kill them, like its a problem.....
@@razkable To be fair, that wasn't really stalking. They were chasing a family member who joined a criminal organization. He was making a very stupid choice and they wanted to stop him. I don't think that counts as stalking.

@@userasdf Omg. When you said that, I just imagined the bell scenario happening with the might guy team but kakashi realizes that they *can* work together and accepts them that way. The plot would continue on like normal...well, except the sasuke retrieval arc.(dont do it with neji)
I just watched the original video and then saw this video in my Recommended section. I had to watch this. The original video is one of the funniest videos I've ever seen in my life.
@Unpopular Opinions i don't have an issue with naruto being privileged but the story does sell you on him being an underdog at first before we see him beat neji and garra on the same day (two hyped up kids at the time) which takes us to itachi wanting him making him more useful then sasuke and jiraya teaching him rasengan all leading to sasuke getting jealous that naruto surpassed him and he loses that underdog label as he learns a high level move again at age 12.5 plus is stronger than sasuke and thats not great.....also can we be honest naruto before the pain arc is a total piece of garbage like all the time..hes a narcissist perverted hypocritical weird loud mouth foul mouth attention seeking trouble making bafoon who likes abuse and claims to not feel or understand the one girl who is nice to him in part 1...he is sorta the worst honestly...I did not like naruto until the end of the pain arc...I found him to be hypocritical as fuck back then until the end of that arc when jiraya's life's goal and influence clearly effected him for the better...
yeah, after the neji fight the creator began to shift focus away from the whole 'hard work' thing and more onto the strength of bonds with people...(basically nepotism)
There was never any hard work, neji bested him. The only reason Naruto won was literally because of puppy ex machina. When you think about it, Naruto has never truly won a big fight on his own.
@@CallMeFVLL Yeah that is true. Normally i don't even mind dues ex machina fights but man, at least the other ones in other series have the protagonist do it themselves instead of a magic fox who does it for them. Naruto would be dead in the Haku fight if he didn't have clifford the big red dog and that was the first goddamn arc. Like ffs man lmao.
If he hadn't found that scroll (or if he hadn't been able to make any sense of it) Naruto wouldn't have gotten the Multi-Shadow Clone jutsu, meaning he wouldn't pass his test and start the series. Even with Iruka-sensei saving him from the other guy, Naruto wouldn't have gained anything. He'd still be a failure of a ninja, unable to produce even one useful clone. Of course he'd still be saying how he wants to be Hokage despite not putting in any time or effort to get there (or even understanding what that means). Sakura would move on with Sasuke and some other jerk to take Nar's place. The series could become more of a slice-of-life style anime, following the life of outcast-ninja-failure turned delinquent-attention-whore Naruto. Sure, the upper political echelon would be aware of Naruto's status as a Jinchuriki, but unless that was revealed to him later on he might never even know. Hard work could actually overcome natural talent, in the sense of work ethic. Naruto would start out useless but eventually become something great. Maybe the series would end with Naruto as head chef or manager of the noodle shop he always goes to. If only he hadn't found (or been able to make any sense of) that scroll, the show might have actually stuck to its original lesson _and_ maintained its relatability.
@@ThornHailsnap Jiraiya picks him up from the streets, tells him to go with him on a journey to get stronger and shit and then BOOM - we get Naruto and Jiraiya adventures! Visiting other villages, fighting strong ninjas and Akatsuki, meeting new people,... That story would be way better...

That could be a fun show too, but would it be able to stick to the whole "hard work beats natural talent" thing that the show tries to promote?
As someone who is a fan of Naruto, I must agree that we must see the negatives of the show to appreciate it. I love this video since no one ever points out the negatives of it.
the series writer, kishimoto, said in an interview once said that naruto was suppose to be a food manga, but the shonen ppl said that no one wanted food manga and to make it into an action manga.
@@bayekofsiwa5847 My experience is that the longer a series goes on the more trash it becomes. Unless each season holds its own AND are tied together, it stops being good after the second season or the second/third arc.

@@razkable they weren't even, sharingan was derived from the byukugan so technically in terms of strength brukugan is supposed to be stronger than the sharingan. I think kishomoto just didn't want to think of more villains so he just made the entire Uchiha clan born with some genetic emotional deficiency that they are all more or less crazy, and villains should at least seem more powerful than protagonists at first so that's why sharingan quickly become overpowered. Not to mention Sasuke is supposed to be Naruto's rival, so the author needs someone that has as much born abilities that Naruto have and Sasuke's main power is his bloodline the Uchiha's sharingan (but of course his multiple derivations of Raiton is also his own work instead of something inherited, I must concede his fighting style is just aesthetics to watch), especially in later parts of Shippuden when the Sharingan just can do a list of stuff.
Dont forget after calling Might Guy the best Taijustu user of all time, Naruto shows up and shits on all of Might Guy's taijustsu feats by kicking a speeding truth seeking orb away like it was a stationary soccerball.
I much prefer Naruto being the nine tailed fox in the beginning, when it was changed to the nine tails being sealed inside naruto in the second chapter, everything just started to not make sense lol. I also liked how Iruka pointed out in chapter 1 that naruto isn’t the most hard working, it always used to bother me when the series would later try to make it seem that naruto was always a hard worker with no talent just to have him contrast sasuke.
What if this IS the secret point made by Kishimoto? Maybe it’s a commentary on how often we hear about how these super successful folks (particularly in sports) like Phelps, Jordan, Brady, etc. work super hard to get there. But in reality Jordan was 6’ 6”, had one of the highest verticals on the league, had massive hands, etc. Phelps was tall, has super long arms, big feet, big lungs, etc.
Well that's somewhat correct some sports rely on physical builds but what about other stars like Leonel Messi who isn't bulit like a Greek statue But if Messi is too young for this example what about Maradona All in all Naruto really fell off during the end
The thing is that you are wrong, but the idea of only hard work is also wrong. It is in fact a combination of both. Phelps would have never gotten to where he got without a lot of really hard work and limit breaking. The thing is that all the others that were just as tall and genetically good as he was failed against him because he was better trained than they were. And he beat all the others with his talent and hard work combined. This is how things are done. People need to stop thinking it is only talent or only hard work it is a mix of both. And if you believe Phelps is only great because of his talent, let me tell you that he was the youngest olimpian ever with 15 years old (dont even have to mention he hadnt achieved his full height at that age).
@@leobosco9205 Except there is no one has genetically gifted as Phelps. He's a genetic freak (no offense) with a variety of different "adaptations" that all help him swim. He's one of a kind. Even if all of his competitors worked as hard as him, or even slightly harder, they would still be worse than him. Him being so successful so young is just more evidence of his inherent advantages. He didn't succeed at 15 where all the other 15-year-olds had failed just because he tried harder. He succeeded because he's a genetic Übermensch.
Finally finished your vid. And yeah, Lee and Hinata were really the only reasons I kept up with Naruto tbh. XD This is why I'm a One Piece guy. @Lt Fuckwit Don't forgot that Luffy has a bottom-of-the-barrel Devil Fruit in comparison with most of the people he fights and still manages to make it work
Every important character in the series are either born with special ability/ies or are handed stuff as the series goes on. The only character who broke this mold was Might Guy but he became a handicap after fighting with one of the 'important' people. "Naruto" the first show is the pinnacle of the series while "Naruto Shippuden" is what sh*ts on that legacy.

Kishimoto hated sakura....that's it that's why she sucks , hell she had potential but nope she just a punch medic with a need for that uchiha dick whiff
I feel like the writer(s) of Naruto wanted the show to be about Naruto and Sasuke, but they needed a third person so they just created a nobody and called her Sakura. The only reason they gave her any kind of ability was so they could draw on her when necessary, like if Naruto is busy and Sasuke isn't handy. There was never any possibility of her doing anything great.

As much as Rock Lee embodies the lesson the show is trying to teach (thus making him a fantastic candidate for MC), I feel like if the main focus was on him he may have gotten boring after a while. I love his character, but when 99% of the cast including most if not all the villains have got the whole package, and the guy you're rooting for has next to none of it (to the point where kids less experienced than him have more skills than he does), there'd come a point where you want Lee to unlock some hidden potential to do more than just taijutsu. I think part of the reason why we all love Rock Lee so much is because we only see him in doses. Doses just big enough to leave us wanting more, but not so big as to actually give us what we want. I would prefer to have seen more of him throughout the series, maybe focusing on his team for an episode or two here and there, but a whole series featuring him as the main character? Sounds enticing, but I'm not sure I'd stick around for 500+ episodes.
Oh look, there is these all these things pointing towards fate, but the message of naruto is not fate, yeah its hard work(when all hard working people lost against more genetically powerful ones, when the title of the series is naruto, when all concepts/powerof naruto is pointed at fate)nejis death also might mean something
@The Water Time for me to be a TH-camr, hmm should I work hard to make some content that really stands out? Nah, how about I record myself watching other people's hard work with little to no reaction/commentary.
@@Emerardo True, but it's not fair use unless it's transformative. That means editing the recording so only the parts that evoke a clear vocal reaction are shown, for example. The Fine brothers are really good at this. Discussing a point loud enough that you can't hear the original video (and doing so regularly) could also count. "Reacting" without bringing something to the table that you won't get from the original video is theft, plain and simple. The ONLY exception is if the original creator has given their express permission to use their video in a non-transformative manner.
The art is also bad. A lot of shots are just large pictures zoomed in and panning with dust/mist vfx over it. Constantly reused shots and other things of that nature. Go back and pay attention to the fights when they're long and drawn out and you'll start to really notice it. The music is more than decent though.
well, i agree that the writing in Naruto is certainly flawed; but look at a series like Fairy tail... ( on a side note, for those that are interested in it's worldbuilding, plot development, power usage; i'd recommend watching videos named ,,Fairy tail the problem with self-inert fantasy) and compare that to naruto. A BIG SPOILER for the end of the series (of Fairy tail) the MC defeats one of the Main villains of the series, who has an INFINITE amount of power through the ,POWER of FRIENDSHIP that is just one example i stated; the series has many other asspulls like that.
Teodoras Lozoraitis Let us not point at different mangas, which have no relevancy in this discussion. Fairy tail is Fairy tail, Naruto is Naruto. This is a discussion about Naruto, any other manga would derail what the actual topic.
@@teodoraslozoraitis7409 How is that any different from what Naruto did throughout the entire series? Beating everyone with talk-no-jutsu? At least Natsu straight up beats the shit out of the bad guys and even says "Who says i need to know the guy in order to beat him up?" clearly he's not one to chat. Natsu also has no desire to become king of the world or establish world peace, he even mentions that as long as his guild is safe he doesn't give much of a shit about the world. Yeah Fairy Tail relied too much on friendship, and that's a giant problem but those are only FIGHTING RELATED PROBLEMS. The narrative for Fairy Tail, as in when they're not fighting and developing the characters instead is top notch and engaging. Naruto literally contradicted it's own theme, no other shone to my knowledge has made such a giant blunder. It even fails to embody the concept of "Ninja" unlike Bleach or Fairy Tail where Shinigami and Wizards are treated like how they should be in a fantasy universe.
shikamaru and lee are my favs, sadly, those without excellent genetic eye traits/kekkai genkai are largely overlooked by majority of the fans. The Uchihas are so oversaturated , overrated, and above all else overpowered that i have a distaste for them. i would be distasteful of the Hyuugas too if the entirety of the clan weren't so underutilised in the latter arcs, but then again Hyuugas cannot summon an impenetratable large chakra warrior to be controlled to start with lmao
I hated this series. Basically, the overall message of Naruto is that if you weren't born into greatness than you don't matter. Lazy writing carries this series, and even when it introduces a good character like Lee, it further tries to ruin it. Lee is built up as the self made every man, that much is true, but as if to rub shit on that, Kakashi makes the claim that "using the eight gate is impossible through hard work alone". Why? Why would it be impossible through hard work? Essentially if you weren't born with some slight form of natural talent, all you can ever hope to be is a nobody. It doesn't help that sharingan and renigan are overpowered to the point of absurdity and the only way anything can hope to challenge them is to introduce something equally broken. And of course let's not forget that Sasuke, despite his many crimes, is just let off the hook for being Nart's buddy. Interrupting the signing of peace treaty? Attempting the assassination of world leaders? Attacking the moron with the ridiculous number of swords? Committing treason against his own village? Nah, that's all just his rebellious phase, I'm sure nobody would be calling for his head on a platter. The fact that this series has the following it does is something I find completely incomprehensible.
i dunno , deku was pretty much gifted the most OP power of his verse after a few months of training . If deku didn't received any quirk and went full batman ,winning via knowledge of other heroes/vilains , planning and gadgets , it might have been more interesting .
bobby31723 Idk, it’s not really like being given stuff invalidates your hard work, and the story writes for this. Even the video points out that Lee was given his exceptional skill at the Eight Gates by Guy. Deku grapples a lot with imposter syndrome and not thinking he’s worthy of the gifts and connections he’s given. It’s fine to not like this writing, but I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s hypocritical in the same way Naruto is
I wonder if Naruto sat down and did nothing would he become hokage, would he become the strongest, would he be alive cause he would be chased down by the akatsuki, would the village ever respect him as much as they do now he probably will cause he has kurama who tries to take over Naruto every time he can,and cause he is the child of prophecy although there were multiple other candidates to choose from but they either failed or died,he would have become hokage even if he sat around cause he is the son of the fourth hokage. To say that Naruto was lazy and had kurama means he would become hokage if he did nothing is wrong Naruto would live a hell life if did nothing and I don't know why most people can't see that
Who said that? Yes, if he would just stand there he would not become a hokage but at the same time he became a hokage just by how lucky he was (plot armor) and how much of what he accomplished was thanks to the talents he got from his ancestors and Kuruma. Most of people who trained him probably wouldn't even do it if it wasn't for Naruto being jinchuriki.
@@dotty3825 He didn't become hokage just because he had kurama, he became hokage because of his influence on other people and because he wanted to create peace. Also what does naruto being trained by skilled shinobi have anything to do with him working hard?

I like Naruto but let's be realistic here. If Naruto wasn't jinchuriki he would at most get to the level of skills that Sakura or Neji had. Basically he would have equal power to most characters in the show because he would not have anyone to teach him those great techniques and he didn't even get to the awakening Uzumakis lineage powers so we even do not know if he would do that if his story was different.

Naruto having kurama is part of the story its always been foreshadowed that naruto would have to gain control of him or be devoured by its hatred. He worked hard for the reasengan,he worked hard to gain a bit of control of kurmas chakra against neji, he worked hard to do the summoning technique, he worked hard to walk on trees, he worked hard to walk on water, he worked hard in order to learn how to control his chakra that all happened in part one. He worked hard for two years with jiraya, he worked hard for the resenshuriken which came with a risk, he trained for sage mode, he trained to control kurama's chakra this in part two
I just thought about this but if you include teacher and student relationships and people who married into other clans and siblings then technically Naruto in one way or another has relations with all the hokage before him 😂
Naruto is such a cucked series to the point that Kishimoto gives off this aura of "I don't want to fucking do this anymore." It is like he just did whatever and threw development into the wind. Tbh, I think even Naruto himself should have realised that he was special that day that he learnt the shadow clone jutsu. But dude doesn't study. Any other Konoha 12 member would have realised that they are a chakra god
The way that I interpret the theme was more about Naruto becoming Hokage and his journey through it. He then starts to realize how hard he has to work to achieve becoming the hokage. At first he wanted to be hokage just to prove to people hes not bad and to be recognize. The more he got into the story the more he starts to realize alot of things about the shinobi world and what it really means to be Hokage. That's why I love the quote Itachi gave Naruto "you dont become hokage to be acknowledge but those who are acknowledged become Hokage. Now the part with Naruto and Neji, I understand how people can see the hard work beats talent theme but I saw more about you have to work hard to be able to change your destiny, as he mentioned he was a loser and failed many times but worked hard in order to move one small step of the thousand obstacles to achieve his dream. Neji is a genius and conform to believing that destiny cant be changed. Naruto wanted to prove that you are the only person who has the right to change your destiny, you have the choice to do that.
And while I mostly agree with his hyperbolic piss taking and love the series the Naruto failing thing is kinda bs he's just being neglected and passed over by every person in the know because he's a moron an they know that and don't want to deal with it but for some reason that makes sense to treat your super weapon hidden rage monsters like that no one thought of this. even Lee got a special pass.
He didn’t use kurama chakra as it seems he just has a lot of chakra we’ll know when he uses the fox powers. The first time he uses the shadow clone jutsu maybe but that’s speculation.

The problem with the video is simple... it misunderstood what Naruto was about. Remember, "Hard work beats natural talent" is ROCK LEE'S philosophy... not the theme of the story. It was something introduced in ONE ARC to define ONE CHARACTER. Naruto is about bonds, not about hard work beating talent. Sure, Naruto worked hard... but that was never the point... Itachi reminded Naruto of this and even the 6 paths sage said how he saw a path of people working together to create a brighter future. And about how lonely Naruto and Gaara was. It was always bonds, not hard work beats talent.
If hard work beats talent was just rock lee’s thing then why does almost everyone talk about how hard Naruto worked I mean you couldn’t have missed it because of how many times they reiterated it in the show literally everyone is always talking about how hard Naruto worked and just ignore/don’t talk about the blatant privileges he obviously has, hell even Naruto doesn’t want to admit that he was born with privilege because he himself thinks he’s worked hard and won’t admit that he was born with privilege, so basically in simple terms what I’m trying to say is: if the show itself isn’t about hard work beats talent then why does the show feel the constant need to never ignore the fact that Naruto was born and was given so many privileges and opportunities that nobody will ever be able to have no matter how they try and just say that everything that Naruto has is all because of “hard work”
@@pizzatowerpilled are they not allowed to mention it even . When has he not worked hard ? Other than the 1st ep, where they didn’t show him train multi shadow clone. Every other training were hard . Just because he don’t wrap his hands / arms is bandages don’t mean he isn’t working hard . Lee can’t do anything else , he can only to physical training and it shows on his arms and legs Naruto is straining his entire body outside and within ( chakra) . Example: summoning , rasengan and rasenshuriken . Even sage mode is risky , he could just die ( turn to stone ) . Also having nine tails isn’t only an advantage , he messes Naruto own chakra. Ppl forget that , they only complain “ oh he has nine tails.. this and that “ , he hurts Naruto majority of shows and he had to fight to get just fraction of nine tails chakra.
video: Naruto is about How you can surpass anyone with hardwork even if you don't have talent meanwhile top naruto moments, Naruto and Zabuza Naruto vs Gaara Naruto vs Sasuke Cycle of hate Kakashi vs Obito Sasuke vs Itachi etc if Naruto was about Hardwork beats talent than Lee would have won against Gaara
I love how he just cassually brings in the 'by the objectively best hokage' XD Ah and Lee did get some special treatment from others. At least from Gai he absolutely did. We can't exactly deny that without Gai Lee wouldn't be close to where he is today, and Gai did absolutely prefer him to his other two students. I mean there's a reason why Gai and Lee have essentially the same skill-set, while I can't even think of a single technique that Gai might have taught to Neji or TenTen. And Gai IS a legendary shinobi. He's even before the madara fight repeatedly compared to Kakashi, who himself is a legendary jonin of the leaf, and after Gai vs Madara it should be pretty clear that Gai is / was a force to be reckoned with. Whether or not he was legendary by genetics, inherent genius or hard work doesn't matter in that regard.
@@PixelPartyPals Also thinking about it now :D I was always a bit put out, how badly Kishimoto treated 'early geniuses'. Let's be honest, comparing the 'NAruto's' (Jiraiya, Naruto, Obito) of the series with the 'geniuses' of the series, it was pretty clear what kind of story Kishimoto wanted to tell. The 'Naruto' is the underdog, who always has a arrogant 'genius' in his team he wants to surpass. The way it is often protrayed it's just the underdog story about a talent-less kid, trying to surpass the inherently talent-less by hard work. Just ignoring the simple fact that neither Obito nor Naruto were born without talent (haha), it's still inherently flawed. (To a lesser degree, NEji and lee / Gai also fall in that category). We later in flashbacks find out, that the 'geniuses' had been much more serious. They'd been aware of the cruel shinobi world they lived in. The 'Naruto's' might have also suffered a tragic fate at some point, but they are much more careless in how they act. While the likes of Sasuke, Kakashi, Neji, Orochimaru take their shinobi life very seriously, very early on, and we know for fact that they STUDIED hard early on and just know a lot more about everything then the likes of Obito, Naruto, Jraiya Lee or Gai, on the other hand, those 'Naruto's' fool around, are class clowns, are trying to impress a girl, are starting random fights in school. Let's be honest here: In many ways more often than once, the story portrayed the underdogs as rivaling some inherent genius who got all this unwarranted and undeserved attention by everybody who praised them out loud, just because they were so talented and it's unfair, that people are born more taletented than others, but you can surpass them by working hard enough. However, delving into the story, it becomes pretty clear that the geniuses aren't considered geniuses because of their families or kekkei genkai (most of them don't have a kekkei genkai or only ever awakened it later on in the story), but because ... they simply focused more on their studies. I mean lets even compare Gai and Kakashi (because Gai indeed works hard, and isn't actuallly fooling around that much unlike Obito, naruto or jiraiya, but we can see even here, how badly Kishimoto treats the geniuses.) Now Kakashi focuses on his ninja-studies, while Gai mostly focuses on becoming stronger than Kakashi, chalenging him in school, which Kakashi is completely uninterested in. Kakashi goes on to finish the academy at age 5, and goes on missions and trains with a sensei, makes Chunin at six and goes on EVEN HARDER missions. now Gai has two more years of academy, and five more years until he makes Chunin. So essentially, while Kakashi is out and about doing Ninja-work, Gai is running circles. At age 12, when Gai only just made Chunin, Kakashi is already a Jonin, leading a team in the war and inventing his own jutsu. later we find out, that after Rin's death, Kakashi became a bit of a work-aholic, working for ANBU essentially 24/7 to the point that he had no private life anymore whatsoever. While we see Gai enjoying the relative peace of the village, eating dango with his friends - also clearly training alot, but still having time for his friends, we see kakashi basically move from mission to training to the memorial to bed to mission again. So at that point it gets really difficult pointing out who is working harder here. Clearly Guy is training a lot more, but that shouldn't be a surprise if we look at the very first data book and see that despite Kakashi and Guy being the same age, Kakashi has completed 350 missions more than Guy, including double as many S-Rank and 100 A-Rank missions more.
I love the series ngl.. But what the video say is true.. I kinda think that Kishimoto has slightly different in mind when making Naruto and when he making Naruto Shippuden.. Because tbh, Rock Lee kinda fits more with effort beats gift and speciality and shit..
If you hear him out objectively without bias, you would know he is 100% right...you could argue he was an ass about it, but you cannot deny every point he made was correct... people think plot holes and fillers are the worst part of Naruto...while it is true, Naruto is filled with plot holes, and asspulls even without the fillers, it's main problem was this "hypocrisy"
@@pumbobjay i would not say 100% right but a big reason why naruto is a hypocrite is hes not a ignored loser like the show pretends since he had friends just like sasuke..they just like to be lone for some reason and sulk ...he kinda likes getting into trouble being unfiltered loud rude so its hard to feel bad for him when he is ignored cause he also goofs off and does not study at all yet wants to be a desk worker aka hokage...see how dumb that is?
Almost no one yet understood, at least in public that it's "Shadow Clones" Not because they are made of shadow, but because thay all are connected to the original. Like if there is light source shining on you, you will always have shadow. And when there is more sources - you have more shadows, but they are less visible. At some point during Shinobi War it was told.
Matthew Lugo just because naruto was a reincarnation of ashura doesn’t mean that he is destined to be op it means he is destined to fight the reincarnation of Indra (Sasuke) to the death but naruto broke the chain that no one else before him could like Madara hashirama etc so neji is still wrong which means naruto isn’t a hypocrite
@Rikirie i mean when look at it from perspective yes asta did recently have a plot buff but before hand he was only limited to his swords and also the plot buff does have its draw backs well since its not like he can transform for long periods of time and unlike most characters he works out on screen and probably off as well.
Naruto did endure and didn't quit..the end of the series shows that he could of gone evil and thanks to iruka he didn't but also his own sense of will and morale of needing love after not having it...neji says his rant but naruto responds if you mean that then why are you trying to convince me of something you don't believe yourself..neji is a hypocrite himself cause he claims he will always be a side member yet he learned the secret powers on his own that he was forbidden to learning and he wants to prove that he can intimidate hinata and then pound her so he can overcome his own fate that he says you can't escape...what a liar
Nothing in this response disproves plagueofgripes point, and ironically, the show proves Neji right about fate. Neji was fated to serve and protect the main house.... he dies protecting the main house, Neji believes that he is fated to never move up in life, despite his hypocrisy. Naruto, who is supremely gifted, of course beats Neji.
Naw its shame that people dont understand the story of Naruto, watch Clydes video in response on the story of naruto and he covers it. The story is about how everything that he had was negative, son of 4th hokage sure but no one knows that and the village hates him. Kurama yea its trying to kill naruto and break out of his body, ashura reincarnation yea mans is destined to fight his best friend to the death, like Hasirama he didnt hate madara.
It’s cool :) I love seeing everyone’s opinion on anime themes and discussions. I agree with this video a lot but I can also see where people that disagree are coming from.
@@PixelPartyPals Yea I love seeing our opinions on things, I personally didnt like plagueofgripes rhetoric on this video, but the uzamki and fourth hokage points I do agree with. Although I think clydes hit the money of the emotional struggle. For the power aspect he was given a ton of opportunities but I still think he worked for them, before the chunin exams he trained so hard he ended up in a three day coma. For the rasengan he trained so hard he was sleeping on the ground where he was training. I dont think an average ninja would be able to accomplish the same even under jiraya. Up till kcm2 sage mode naruto it was hard work, six path powers were handed to him.
@@jalenprice23 have you watched the same show dude? you think having a demon beast inside you is a gift? that "dog energy" didn't come for free. the guy litteraly had to fight the beasts influence while trying to benefit from him. meanwhile someone like sasuke could have easy succombed to the tempation of revenge. i could go on and on about this. but we all know that gripes made this vid as a joke for the lulz. so you'd be playing yourself if you take all that criticism as genuine and true. the guy was obviously memeing.
@@joemartin7451 I’ve known that Naruto isn’t that hard of a worker far before I saw the gripes video. Naruto just like Ichigo, is bloodline royalty which causes him to grow and develop much faster than everyone else. The nine tails was 100% a gift as it would benefit him massively in the long run and was given to him for FREE unlike someone like Madara who captured them all. Naruto is also more of a natural born genius than even someone like Neji as he was able to master the rasengan an (A tier jutsu) in less than a week and could’ve learned it faster if he used the Nine tails infinite chakra to spam shadow clone training like with the Rasen-Shuriken. Which puts a spotlight on his laziness because never even figured that out despite the shadow clones being his “go-to” jutsu. Rock lee was disadvantaged and isolated exactly like Naruto was and also didn’t give in to hatred or revenge. The difference is that when rock lee gets dire injuries he doesn’t have the “gift” of a demon fox to heal him and power him up when he loses or makes fatal mistakes. Rock lee gets a spinal injury and his career as ninja was almost ended, Naruto gets his skull caved his by Suaske pile driving him off a cliff and just pops back up like a lonely toon because he has the nine tails.
@@jalenprice23 no, the ninetails wasn't 100% gift. even if naruto ended up benefiting from it in the long run. which was a product of his determined work to reach there. that's the whole damn point of the show. and the show makes sure to make that point as obvious as possible. by contrasting different jinchuurikis against naruto. to say that the ninetails was a gift and a plus is so bad faith characterisation of the premise of the story. only because nintails can give his host an endless chakra? get real dude. you basically cannot argue in favor of "naruto achieved what he did because he was so naturally gifted op individual with no hard work" position. that logic was never true in real life. nor has it been in any substantial piece of fiction. you know the saying "practice makes perfect". if you're ever born with a gift to do something you will realize that only because you have that doesnt mean you get to be the best at it. unless you pour a lot of hard work in it. your gift is rendered useless once you give up on honing it. that's what the show is trying to tell us. not because of bloodlines, not because of fancy techniques you learn from your teachers you can reach the top. only through "will and determination". heck, by that logic of yours even rock lee can't claim he reached the top through hard work. why? because he was privilaged enough to be under the tutoring of the strongest freaking shinobis as madara declared. might guy. so that argument gripes brought was very dumb. and he realises how dumb it is later on and aknowledges that he made the video as a joke.
@@joemartin7451 nope you are wrong. your meaning of hardwork is like saying kylie jennie works hard to build her fashion industry. It is not called hardwork but it is called easy effort. Nine tails is the same thing. Nine tails saved naruto ass lot of times and he was also the reason there was lot of favouritism. Might guy is a bad teacher compared to kakashi, toad sage, jiraiya. might guy is himself a loser and son of janitor who was not good in ninjutsu and genjutsu. Rocklee got teacher because might guy saw his determination. Naruto got the teacher because he was the son of 4th hokage and jinchuriki. He has lot of political connection. People like you are dumb who said the video is joke and plague is 100% right. Hardwork doesnt applied to privileged people like donald trump, kyline jenner, and any other person. They only had few failure and little amount of effort. Hardwork means those people who failed 5 or 10 times to achieve something in life.
Uhhh so I don't believe the OVERALL message of Naruto was to constantly showcase that Hardwork trumps talent. Sure it's one of the themes but not OVERALL. It was always about the battle of convictions and philosophies. If you really wanna talk about destiny, the most important is probably the cycle of hatred. Ashura and Indra reincarnations were destined to constantly kill each other and resurface...with each counter part...looping. Naruto stopped that with his counterpart: Sasuke. The anime became more about something philosphical. Jiraiya even mentions finding true peace during his travels with Naruto. It saddens me that people don't realize that Naruto inherited this, what people in the west call "talk-no-jutsu", philosophy from Haku and Jiraiya. Hell you could even say Iruka also passively implented it in him as Iruka looked passed the fact that the beast inside Naruto killed his loved ones. It also saddens me that people fail to give credit to Naruto, yes...dumbass Naruto, for actually understanding and meting out this philosophy as not everyone can just...forgive/show the other person THEY are in fact wrong...it's pretty important. If you want a breakdown of this philosophy check out this video th-cam.com/video/gH3Sh3hRV-c/w-d-xo.html The Neji thing is....idk...Naruto is the main character. Of course he is going to be special and powercrept along with the villains. What were they suppose to do? Make him fail in the end? Idk. It really depends on how one wants to look at it. Jiraiya and Haku did not die vain as at least there are people like me who remember.
Naruto is kot a hypocrite. Kishimoto is. Kishimoto was the one who wrote about his ideals, but had a character that went against the ideals he tried to preach. Subaru is actually the Japanese name for Pledias. Re:Zero has alot of characters named after Stars. Such as Betlegeuse.
naruto is a hypocrite because of the way kishimoto wrote him. like, they aren't separate entities. naruto himself contradicted his own morals (that hard work is more important than innate ability) by having some of the most convoluted abilities in his respective narrative. what exactly are you trying to say, lmao?
Ur acting like naruto is a real life character. No matter who u call hypocrite the truth is long series do face downfall (one piece go away ur not involved here)
@@lalitthapa101 But the blame falls on the author. A hypocritical character is one that is well written and the hypocracy is intentional. Kishomoto did not intend to make him this way, thus the blame falls not on the character, but the author himself.

Seems like working for Shounen Jump and Shueshai tends to do that,...
Nope Clyde to the recuse lol
He does have good points but he’s too simplistic missing a lot of shit Clyde goes over.
It's saddening.. But true. I think if Ultimate Ninja Storm wasn't a gaming series. I probably, wouldn't have finished Shippuden. :/
and now the same exact thing is happening with boruto and kawaki... except kawaki had to undergo extreme physical and mental torture to obtain his powers while boruto gets his because he just happened to be present when naruto and sasuke where tearing momoshiki a new one. boruto and sarada already have the god genetics from birth, heck even mitsuki but at least his story is interesting

Of course he'd still be saying how he wants to be Hokage despite not putting in any time or effort to get there (or even understanding what that means). Sakura would move on with Sasuke and some other jerk to take Nar's place.
The series could become more of a slice-of-life style anime, following the life of outcast-ninja-failure turned delinquent-attention-whore Naruto. Sure, the upper political echelon would be aware of Naruto's status as a Jinchuriki, but unless that was revealed to him later on he might never even know.
Well that's somewhat correct some sports rely on physical builds but what about other stars like Leonel Messi who isn't bulit like a Greek statue
But if Messi is too young for this example what about Maradona
All in all Naruto really fell off during the end
Don't forgot that Luffy has a bottom-of-the-barrel Devil Fruit in comparison with most of the people he fights and still manages to make it work
Every important character in the series are either born with special ability/ies or are handed stuff as the series goes on.
The only character who broke this mold was Might Guy but he became a handicap after fighting with one of the 'important' people. "Naruto" the first show is the pinnacle of the series while "Naruto Shippuden" is what sh*ts on that legacy.

The point of a reaction video is to react to a video. Thats what he did
@@Emerardo True, but it's not fair use unless it's transformative. That means editing the recording so only the parts that evoke a clear vocal reaction are shown, for example. The Fine brothers are really good at this. Discussing a point loud enough that you can't hear the original video (and doing so regularly) could also count. "Reacting" without bringing something to the table that you won't get from the original video is theft, plain and simple.

well, i agree that the writing in Naruto is certainly flawed; but look at a series like Fairy tail... ( on a side note, for those that are interested in it's worldbuilding, plot development, power usage; i'd recommend watching videos named ,,Fairy tail the problem with self-inert fantasy) and compare that to naruto.
A BIG SPOILER for the end of the series (of Fairy tail)
the MC defeats one of the Main villains of the series, who has an INFINITE amount of power through the ,POWER of FRIENDSHIP
that is just one example i stated; the series has many other asspulls like that.
Teodoras Lozoraitis Let us not point at different mangas, which have no relevancy in this discussion. Fairy tail is Fairy tail, Naruto is Naruto. This is a discussion about Naruto, any other manga would derail what the actual topic.
That drawing looked good to you lmao...??
And this is why my favourite character is Kakashi
shikamaru and lee are my favs, sadly, those without excellent genetic eye traits/kekkai genkai are largely overlooked by majority of the fans.
@@danknerevarine3678 yeah i have a running theme of not liking the main characters in Shonen Luffy, Naruto & Goku
Finally someone who agrees with me on naturo;s character.
No one knows Naruto's Heritage because it was kept a secret and S-Class Secret means that if you found out and told you die
Okay no one mention Boku No Hero to that guy if he hates naruto he'll just love Deku lol

He already knows lol
bobby31723 Idk, it’s not really like being given stuff invalidates your hard work, and the story writes for this. Even the video points out that Lee was given his exceptional skill at the Eight Gates by Guy. Deku grapples a lot with imposter syndrome and not thinking he’s worthy of the gifts and connections he’s given. It’s fine to not like this writing, but I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s hypocritical in the same way Naruto is
Naruto can't use his mother's chains because he wasn't born with the kekkei genkai
Kekkei genkai are a blood line inheritance.
Potentially it is there is must be awaken first.

Also Naruto's main theme isnt hard work beats natural talent so whats the problem with naruto being the son of the fourth. Naruto is such a cucked series to the point that Kishimoto gives off this aura of "I don't want to fucking do this anymore." It is like he just did whatever and threw development into the wind.
And let's be honest, they cucked for the pairing fans and for Hinata. It was all about her in the end and people pretend like "this is how it was supposed to be."
i was wheezing when the reincarnation thing was brought forth.
Hinata's love for Nar is one sided for most of the series, until he acknowledges it, but.......they didnt even talk THAT much to begin with. no meaningful interactions unless you count the few that were probs shoehorned into fillers. The same could be said of Sakura and Sasuke's pairing
@@danknerevarine3678 And even when they did talk, Naruto was so disinterested that they have to FORCE Naruto to relive all the things he didn't care about. How is this a good couple?

I suppose it's worth addressing that Jairyia did say the seal uses Naruto's Chakra to subdue the Kyuubi's. But then it also takes that chakra to build itself back up with an excess. It's unclear how much the seal uses but considering the feats Naruto has displayed it likely isn't a lot if none at all--definitely not 98%, that's retarded. Assuming that the seal takes chakra you could think of it like this, you have half a glass of water from a water bottle (16.8 oz); the other has been used in Rube Goldberg mechanism to hold back a spilling from a gallon.
Lee can’t do anything else , he can only to physical training and it shows on his arms and legs
Naruto is straining his entire body outside and within ( chakra) .

Ah and Lee did get some special treatment from others.
Oh snap, very valid point!
Only cuz gai was like him
It's crazy how you can just make videos on hating Naruto and get millions of views and those same people wouldn't even try to criticize other anime.
This should be good can't wait to see it
i hope you enjoy it :)

Great vid
I love the series ngl.. But what the video say is true.. I kinda think that Kishimoto has slightly different in mind when making Naruto and when he making Naruto Shippuden.. Because tbh, Rock Lee kinda fits more with effort beats gift and speciality and shit..
I was a bit annoyed by the dude but I understand where he is coming from 🌚
I kinda think he is 100.99% right
If you hear him out objectively without bias, you would know he is 100% right...you could argue he was an ass about it, but you cannot deny every point he made was correct... people think plot holes and fillers are the worst part of Naruto...while it is true, Naruto is filled with plot holes, and asspulls even without the fillers, it's main problem was this "hypocrisy"
It's ok to love something and still admit all it's faults.... I feel the Bleach community has been the best example as a bleach fan myself 😂....
However you feel about the show this guy has some great points and is pretty funny too👍
Almost no one yet understood, at least in public that it's "Shadow Clones" Not because they are made of shadow, but because thay all are connected to the original. Like if there is light source shining on you, you will always have shadow. And when there is more sources - you have more shadows, but they are less visible.
At some point during Shinobi War it was told.
When?????
This is why I like One Piece far more.
Isnt that the anime where every character has the same weakness?
Matthew Lugo 😭😂😭 Wrd
Matthew Lugo naruto still a good series idc 😭
@@fome5093 how? Is it? When the story is a mess and it going against its actual measage
Literally jus watched the original video then this pops up so I’m watching this
Thanks for checking out my reaction :)
Moral of the story black clover is a better naruto story than naruto.
Oh wow.....
@Rikirie i mean when look at it from perspective yes asta did recently have a plot buff but before hand he was only limited to his swords and also the plot buff does have its draw backs well since its not like he can transform for long periods of time and unlike most characters he works out on screen and probably off as well.

you should watch and react to cycle's video on "Was Naruto really an underdog"
hopefully have a reaction on tuesday, cant wait to see what he has to say
I left a big "fuck naruto" comment on plague's video which has nothing to do with anything that he mentioned.
Didn't Madara also respect Might Guy so much after his death to declare any and all who disrespects him will immediately be killed?
Wtf u smoke lmaoo
Naw its shame that people dont understand the story of Naruto, watch Clydes video in response on the story of naruto and he covers it. The story is about how everything that he had was negative, son of 4th hokage sure but no one knows that and the village hates him. Kurama yea its trying to kill naruto and break out of his body, ashura reincarnation yea mans is destined to fight his best friend to the death, like Hasirama he didnt hate madara.
Iv done a reaction to Clydes video
@@PixelPartyPals oh sorry my bad I didn't know, I'll make sure to check it out thanks! :)
I still don't CARE, it's NOT about hardwork! He is a liar to himself
You should react to swagkages video about kakashis perfect susanoo. Dont remember the exact name but you should find it pretty easily

Naruto is a hard worker he works hard all the time
Harder than who though? The ramen guy? lol
If you want a breakdown of this philosophy check out this video
th-cam.com/video/gH3Sh3hRV-c/w-d-xo.html
The Neji thing is....idk...Naruto is the main character.
No matter who u call hypocrite the truth is long series do face downfall (one piece go away ur not involved here)
@@lalitthapa101
But the blame falls on the author. A hypocritical character is one that is well written and the hypocracy is intentional.
Kishomoto did not intend to make him this way, thus the blame falls not on the character, but the author himself.
@@blankblank1284 whatever you saying about author still naruto is hypocrite self made. Cuz he make it like that
