I always thought the relief hole in the drum was just for transbrake applications. I did the dual feed on my trans when I built it, but haven't run it yet. Got me thinking I should pull it back apart
just curious, i was looking at the bowler kit but its been out of stock, so this is my next best option. what thickness steels and frictions did you use to get ~.060 clearance?
Is there a wave plate in the direct? Did you leave it out to get that 6th clutch in? Thinking that i missed something somewhere. do you still put an HD2 kit in?
No wave. No HD2, this is internal dual feed. The HD2 dual feeds through the plate. If opening up the transmission there's better options like the jakes or CK recal kits.
While watching your video I noticed that both the drum and the piston have a check ball, it's my understanding that you only want a check ball in either the drum or the piston but not in both. Check out the Precision Transmission channel, I'm sure that's where I saw this.
It so nice man , I have been watching your videos for while specially for transmission rebuild , so right now I got 4l80e and I need to rebuild it to handle my supercharged truck, so can you help with parts number, it will be prefect for my truck.
@@Balata_Garage Could just do an HD2 kit for that, or if you want to dual feed internally, a Jakes Performance recal kit. Both increase line pressure and dual feed. The Jakes kit also does accumulator delete.
This one here, come machined for 6 clutch in 5 clutch drum. Works with forward steels. I think the stock ones are a little thicker. www.atfspeed.com/th400-forward-or-direct-clutch-piston-cast-aluminum.html
@@horsepowerfactorytx Just been thinking about changing the name for a while to something more relevant to the channel. GUEST APPEARANCE BY SON O RYAN! Start em young! Kudos to both of you
Holy crap...I started following you when you did the first Ranger build. Wow, your son got big. haha

Thats why I always get the wheels spinning slow till it shift into 2nd at the track
When doing the duel feed mod on the direct drum does this affect the loc up on the converter
No.

is it possible to mix up the forward and direct pistons on the 4L80?
You can put the direct into the forward, but not the other way.
The center of the drums are different diameters.

Which part number?
For rebuild process, what Parts i need to make it to handle 500 to 600 WHP

You Machined the piston? Or it's a stock 400 piston?
