I stumbled across this and haven’t watch you for a while but mate… Great video and really good chemistry between you two as knowledgable car enthusiasts in an unscripted piece was excellent. It was really good viewing. I think you’ve just hit upon a sweet spot with your content with lots of possibilities and spin-offs.
Rs3 for me personally, love the B58 however the 5 pot is iconic. Rs3 looks better much more aggressive, the Quattro system is spot on all year round even in the winter puts power down.
Personally the m140i much more character an driver engaged experience an gives you on the edge thrill rwd with big power just a dream! On the other hand the rs3 apart from the 5 pot is boring not much driver control feels too computerised for my liking even my grandad could drive it just foot down no feedback or not enough drama shall I say!

Haven't driven the pre facelift. I know the engine is like 20kg lighter. But a fl on bilstien b16s and uprated sway bar and drop links on ps4s handle soooo good

I have a stock 2015 RS3 and i can tell you now for day to day life and ragging it about when need to the RS3 is the better car, looks, sounds and interior. That is why it costs £10k more
absolute fucking facts. i’m acouple months away from being able to afford one and cannot tell you how excited i am. i hear about the steering, and going around corners… but i could care less. i’m just a regular dude who’s inlove with the sound of the rs3, and thinks the interior looks and feels superb for a daily. this seems as the most ultimate daily you can get. unfortunately though i’ve watched almost every 2016 prefscelift rs3 youtube video, and have nothing left to scratch my itch 😭😭😢😢. have to hang in there for a few more months …
@@dubbog7870 yeah mate make sure the one you get has the dynamic pack with sports exhaust, best sounding exhaust for them you’ll love it, mine had a light stage 1 remap so it was 410 with loud bangs on down shifts

had to chose between RS3, TTRS, M2C and M140. took the M140 even if it has not so much power (can be changed ofc) but because its understatement, character and practicality
Both amazing cars. I prefer the M140i though, as I own one, wild and tries to kill me daily. Love it. Oh it's my 5th beemer matey, managing the wheelspin is part of the skill and fun of driving it. Much rather have a car which actually requires some skill to get the best out of, than some AWD hatch which you can launch full throttle with one hand on the wheel every time, b o r i n g (to me, but each to their own). xHP3 transforms the ZF8, and you probably don't know but you can adjust the ferocity of each gearchange in the xHP software (I turned mine down 20% for every gear).
RS3! Quattro AWD system, launch control, better colour options, 5 cylinder, better exterior, WAY better interior, better sound, reliability, RS3 actually puts the power it has on the tarmac, more stable chassis, no brainer really...

Great video but come on guys, the RS3 is the pinnacle for Audi whereas the M140i is a medium range car in the BMW range.....the RS3 should be and will be quicker so thats no real suprise. The RS3 is lovely but being a BMW guy Id probably take the M140i.....the 6 cylinder sounds sweeter in my opinion and isnt as much 'in your face' like the Audi.

10K difference is clear what you get, no LSD, no Xdrive system, the chassis/suspension from factory is less that perfect if you take your twisties quick, but you can make power soo inexpensively.
Comparison to A3 3.2 sline is more honest, Sid was spot on it should never of had an M in the name BMW should of just put the badges on the wheels and door trim like they used to.
id take the BMW m140i anyday ive driven a stock m140i and a stage 2 MRC RS3 and found the RS3 very boring due to not having any actual driver involvement its just abit fun on straight roads but gets very boring after a while however the M140i keeps you on your feet with the back end sliding out you cant let your guard down with a rear wheeler BMW and thats what makes it very exciting for me of course end of the day it is purely a matter of choice and what your preferences are i just thought the RS3 got very boring after a few hours and the bmw you can drive that thing for hours and never get bored of it sliding out and learn a few tricks once you get the hang of trying to drift and powerslide and stuff it becomes addictive and you just wanna keep doing it though i would recommend everyone drives an M140i with a limted slip differential driving with an open differential is just like waiting for a disaster to happen

i went from a stage 1 R to an m140i and i prefer it. the golf was fast but apart from that there was nothing else to it? idk how to word it, it just wasn't a rewarding drive?, it gotten quite stale after 4 months or so, sold it just after a year of ownership. the manual gearbox was the only thing stopping me from selling sooner as there was some enjoyment in that, if it was DSG i would've sold way earlier.
yes but huge differences in BOOST PRESSURES between those 2 cars . THE RS3 runs 1.5 bar the bmw runs 20 PSI of course the audi will feel livelier gents.... apart from that GOOD WORK AND LOVE FROM AUSTRALIA

@@zzhughesd how comes u say it was the wrong transmission? Ratios too long? Would be interesting to hear your thoughts. The zf definitely has its advantages but the thought of clutch dumping paired with a b58 seems amusing😂
@@carmadnab I’m a car trader and petrol head. The manual did not suit the car. A diff shifter or knob may have helped. But. BMW manuals rubbery and not nice in use. Opposite of a nice short throw MX5. Just not nice in application. The auto ZF fast. Suits car. And kills manual love. Shame. You’d think otherwise. BMW use diff boxes for their 1M and manual M products. M lites just use manuals that feel like a box in a Micra. Dull.
but the RS3 had more optional features available or already stock, while BMW sold the M140i as "just" a 1-Series with M package and a bigger engine. also the M140i has to be upgraded a lot apart from the engine to be a proper M-Car (which it is not) and therefore it's not really comparable to the RS3 in pricing. all in all I still love my M140i (manual, RWD) because it has a lot character and is a real sleeper (nobody suspects the tiny bimmer as the loudest car in a tunnel for example)

You can have both, 67 or 18 plate is still FL and has the pre OPF sound of the PFL so sounds amazing.

Had a m140i after a stage2 S3 8v, even the S3 was more fun. Chopped in for the RS3 8v afterwards, tons tons better and always used to have beemers :)
