It's the anniversary of the day Megumi and Danji met. However, Danji shows no signs of any intention to celebrate it, and seems to have completely forgotten about it. Seeing that Megumi has started sulking in disappointment, Tomari takes action to lift her spirits.

I can't stress enough how much I love Megumi's outfit lmfao.
Such wholesome episodes recently, new music track during the fight for Megumi and big big sister vibes between Tomari and Megumi. Good balance of cardfighting and other general stuff which was just nice. Good to see the anime getting into a good groove currently hope it stays like this from here on out
Finally, a full cast of likeable characters in a card game anime
Honestly, i think megumi its kinda boring comparing to the rest of the cast, but she is not bad at least
Also, i was pretty desapointed with her backstory, i thought it would be something more interesting after her interaction with her brother in EP3 if im not mistaken.
Her backstory is like "oh, i'm rich, bored and my brother is away > omg, my brother's friend show me something fun, imma simp for him", that wouldn't be a problem if she talked to her brother instead of waiting for him to take the first step, it seems that they talked normally before, so no reason for her to not talk to him, at least during meals, and she could "substitute" him with school friends, if she cared to make some.
Everything seems to be like it is because she doesnt care to change it one bit and has to wait for people to do the something first, worst backstory yet.
Honestly today's episode was a banger. Tomari has a great personality and it was nice seeing a flashback by megumi.
Prediction: They are probably going to a party. Plus danji is all dripped out

Loving the character development. While I can see why people want more cardfights, I like this format too. Yes, Cardfight exists in OverDress, but I still like how it's used to develop characters and the story, and tackling some surprisingly real issues we go through in life (Tohya...). I prefer this over the constant advertisement that: "Hey, you heard about Cardfight? See, we do these cool Cardfight things. Have I told you how cool Cardfight is yet, because it's really cool! Here, we do cool Cardfight things, you see. Hey, want to see another episode where I repeat the same thing I just told you over and over?"
I'm not saying the original didn't have moments like that, but I prefer this laid back style and let characters be characters experiencing real people moments. It's why I loved the previous episode as well.
As well as episode 6. The only episode I'm a little "Eh" on was episode 5. But this show has been great so far, and I can't wait to see what'll happen next.
I'm liking this....I just wish they explained there moves that's all in the match. Does not have to take the whole episode.

I don't play Vanguard but this anime is so well made, to the point where I want to learn how to play and watch it.
Its a really fun game, also, pretty cheap, the starter decks are 4$, so give it a try, if there is no one close to you that can teach you how to play, there are lots of groups on discord with people willing to teach you, myself included, i hope you enjoy the game

Amazing episode! Absolutely loved the cardfight and the development between the characters! My only wish was that we'd get to see a full fight soon with a clear ending since we've only really been getting half fights until now

I really like how down-to-earth and relatable this Vanguard series is. I'm still a stage 1 Megumi. I'm way too nervous to ever introduce myself to the good folks at my LGS. Last time they asked me if I wanted to sit down for a game I politely declined and ran out the door.
Hey, don't be afraid, generally the community is really great towards new players, so give it a try, if yu-yu did it, you can do it too

Ok 3 things i learned from this episode:
1.Zakuza is a low key perv
2.Unit fights for now only appear in THAT table
3.They might killed Danji off with all the focus his getting....
Ikr, from what I see. Everyone focus are now on Danji, Yu-yu and Megumi being the brilliant rookie all look up to Danji, now we need to see Zakuza and Tomari relation to Danji then I couldn't help bu to think that something horrible going to happen to Danji.

Even in the OG era and especially in the V era, the slice of life aspect of Vanguard has always been an highlight for me cuz destroying the universe with cards just, well, silly.... 🤷🤷🤷
I knew Danji wouldn’t forget about their anniversary! He just the best! 😊 I really liked the music that played in the background during Megumi and Tomari’s fight, same with Yuyu! Also, At the end when they all went to eat together, and Megumi calls out to Yuyu, it was so heartwarming 🥰 And, okay Danji’s shades from Megumi really make him look even more cool! 😊 Waitt Im just realizing that they are the same ones he wears whenever he rides his motorcycle, waaaaat lol

Yea they seem to be prioritizing the plot over the cardgames like Wixoss, which for the first four seasons worked well enough because of the psychological horror aspect but then Div (A) Live dragged its heels, got good for one episode and went right back to being mediocre again. Least _this_ show has good main characters to carry it with. Div (A) Live's best characters were secondary characters and there were barely any.
That's the point. It was a fight if emotion. That outcome didn't matter as much as the mutual understanding the fighters came to

@@triplen9804 I saw that happen on a video for the boss battles in the Dragon Quest Island part of this Japanese theme park where they are about to go in, then there's a jumpcut to them coming out, I don't think they allow video footage of the bosses though.

A good balance between slice of life, Megumi chara development and fight action.
Very enjoyable, please more episode like this and the 6th, the one about Tohya. Him and Megumi are my favorite characters thanks to those episodes ❤️

I think this might be my favorite episode very well done and self contained. The first part written and presented very much in a novel literary format, middle was hilarious and the cardfight at the end was well made i was able to follow the fight completely unlike some of the other fights.
Are we sure Megumi isn’t the Dragon Empire player? She had some straight burns at the ready

I like Yu-yu's gang a bit more than Aichi and friends (excluding best girl Misaki) in the original, and especially in V-series. The cardfights are used as a vehicle by the show to build character.
If you find that boring, then fine, it's not for you. But that doesn't mean that it is objectively boring.

I find it funny that we never saw who won the fight but my money is on Tomari, yes Megumi had 6 attacks but tomari was at 3 damage with enough cards in hand to block the attacks.
Unless Megumi got an over trigger
Not to mention, As of now of course, Brandt Gate still pretty much Hard Counters her deck, with the imprison gimmick, so it'd be hard for her to win.

@@SpectralLumo well we saw her already overcome the prison mechanic as none of her cards were shown in the prison when she started attacking. It basically just came down to if the 6 attacks were enough
@@Electric4Pie Well, yes. Everyone can do the exact same thing Megumi did when it's their turn. And yes, her 6 attack barrage is alot. Though, easily she could have blocked two with her intercepts, took two hits, and guarded the rest EZ. Especially after pulling those two crit triggers earlier during her triple drive. And when it goes back to her turn, boom she just imprisons everything again and gets her triple drive back. Not to mention, Seraph snow gets a 10k boost for having just one card in the prison, and Tomari's deck is more than likely filled with Imprision cards, and Seraph Snow can imprison twice for a C-Blast. Like OP said tho, if megumi pulled an over trigger that's an Ez game over for Tomari, though the chances were slim for Megumi to do that.

Megumi had 3 cards in her hand, assuming one of them was Magnolia, as she "had it all along", even if the last 2 cards were 15k triggers, two Agra + Blue are both 23k columns, plus 10k triggers on each, 33k to Megumi's 13k, that's 25k to guard each of them. Megumi had 1 card left before persona riding, meaning she used 2 cards to survive Tomari's attack. They can't be 2 free PGs as she had 3 cards, she wouldve had to discarded her persona ride, and had only 1 card after draw phase. Even if she had an OT in her hand, she still can't guard the 2nd attack. MAYBE she got an overtrigger damage check, which is why she lived with 5 damage and an extra card in hand; Tomari should've won

Pues al parecer Megumi se la pasara entre tristeza, enojo y celos (???) pues es el aniversario de cuando conoció a Danji, pero este parece se le olvido y supongo se la pasara medio capitulo con Yuyu esto o Yuyu aquello, aunque imagino habrá fiesta sorpresa al final. Pero si en verdad lo había olvidado seria algo interesante de ver, ya que eso pasa en la vida real.

Im pretty sure Tomari's VA is an adult, or at least a young one. Its Megumi's who isnt being that her VA is literally just 17.

This was a fun episode.
I already said this once but I think I gotta say it again, this time with a slightly new approach. While I understand there are people who really enjoy the overdress anime, I am in the minority that has a desire for larger than life imagine fights. My reasoning is because it’s been over a year since we had one back in shin. Honestly, I wouldn’t even mind if this season wasn’t after -If -. But I’m not going to hate on the series for it. I don’t think it’s wrong to want something some people have liked, especially because of the time period it’s been. In a sense, it’s kind of like Buddyfight. Except that thing is permanently gone.
