Zakusa gave me chill with Ren vibes and just seeing him play his order card to become dark night was chilling to me. Just the animation was awesome and seeing orfist play was pretty beautiful. Love orfist.
Zakusa and Tomari seem to always one up themselves with their strange styles and personalities and I for one am all for it lmao. Was nice to see a bit more investment in the actual card fight compared to the previous ones, but I have a feeling that was mainly due to neither player having a starter deck revolved around them. Plus some Tohya foreshadowing which I'm never against. Though Masanori is giving me very weird creep vibes around Yuyu.
This is the episode where the writers of the show suddenly realized that they were making a show about card games and forgot about the realism that they established in the past episodes.

But at least in that one it's more realistic to see the Wrestling champion than seeing a guy jumping out of helicopters like it's just an everyday thing to do and there's no guy that travels to mountain temples to stick vanguard cards on monk faces that causes them to have seizures 😂.
I still think that in anime currently is difficult to understand the game and who has advantage (eccept when they show the damage), since during the fight the effects are not fully told and the power level are not shown

@@halfzie the issue is that orfist can slam down on Zorga before he's ready to alchmagic with the best cards at his disposal, while orfist not only has consistency, he can run a world card that is essentially an upstart goblin, increasing the likelihood of seeing the right cards.
This is the best episode so far. Good character growth. Hilarious connotations and easter eggs. And finally a Cardfight all the way through where they explain each move!

So for people who complain about knowing too little about what the cards do, explaining out the full card effect has always (from my experience with card game anime) been used to make a card seem flashy/cool and “you should totally add this to your deck”. Either that or it’s used to basically fill time so the studio doesn’t have to animate as much. So while I am concerned about a new viewer who needs to consult the Wiki for these cards, I am also slightly relieved this series is moving away from the “product placement” style of most card game anime
I am LIVING for all this Tomari/Zakusa content. The ONE established couple in this show and it's the openly kinky pair. And they're consistently lovey-dovey instead of the usual slapstick bickering couple shtick established pairs usually get. Love it. Thank you for the food.
I like the contrast between how the grandiose, over-the-top Masanori remembers meeting Tohya vs how the logical, grounded-in-reality Tohya remembers meeting Masanori.
That cardfight was awesome and I don't care if it was short or not. It really showed off the Link Joker aspect of Brandt Gate as well as the Granblue aspect of Stoicheia. Ashamed that Zorga didn't get animated as Orfist did. Now the only Ride LIne we haven't seen is Hexaorb Sorceress, and I hope she comes around soon.

Amazing episode. Awesome how the team listened to the community about showing more of the cardfights. Being able to cursed soul then GDR and is what makes Zorga so awesome. Even though my monk boi Masanori is kind of rude better than a Simp Zakusa. Masanori gang rise up.
I doubt they listened. This episode was probably planned months in advance, even before the community started bitching about the fights not being like the older series (which it doesn't NEED to be like!)
Masanori's been absent most of the season and Zakusa mostly sat in the background doing nothing so giving both of them a dedicated episode for them was certainly appreciated. This season's mainly been about establishing the new cast of characters and the dynamic between them and both Zakusa and Masanori leave a strong impression this episode.
