I saw Akira for the first time in the early 00's and my love for the movie still growing up every day! Iconic, Legendary. And I must say the obvious for everyone here, read the manga!
This mix is real. Nothing will ever hit me like this movie did the first time I saw it on a second hand VHS. You summoned some of that feeling here, and I thank you for it.

This SHOULD happen again ALL OVER. This is the ANTHEM of the internet and our current times. Akira is just a perfect construction of Katsuhiro Otomo. I can't wait for a remake for this.

@@ジンオウガ-o9d この作品の本質は太陽の塔に似ていると思っていて、そういうせいもあってか好き嫌いが分かれるんですよね。僕は今高校生なのですが、以前「印象的な映画」というテーマの自由英作文でこのAKIRAについて書いたら誰も知らなくて、好き嫌い以前に誰も知らないのか...と落胆しました。もっとこの価値に気づいてほしいし単発的な商業アニメばかりじゃなくて、莫大なお金をかけてでも本当に価値があるアニメーション映画を作ってほしいですね。

この映画を観た当時は１8歳か19歳位だったかな
当時から大友さんの『童夢』を漫画で読んでて『AKIRA』の予告CMを観て必ず映画館まで見に行こうと思ったもんだった
まぁストーリー展開が壮大かつ荒廃で時代が逆行してるような風潮が蔓延った社会でしたから····良いも悪いも無いこの社会形態をどうにかしろ‼️って感じでした
