Manoel Island & Fort Manoel like you've NEVER seen them before! - Malta Drone Video

A small island at the heart of controversy, Manoel Island is so named after Portuguese Grand Master António Manoel de Vilhena, who built a fort on the island in the 1720s.
The fort is being restored, and it's a big job indeed. Although close up parts of it are still rather rundown, from the air you can see the true majesty of the Fort on Manoel Island, as well as Marsamxett harbour, Valletta, Sliema and the surrounding environs.
Whatever happens with the Manoel Island project, currently a PR hot potato for various parties involved, I hope rights of access to the public will be respected, and any development is in turn respectful of its surroundings, steeped in history.
