I got Social degree in and I’m very interested in using it. I’m a culinary student now, but I really want to work with people and help them make more nutritional food choices, help them make meal plans, help with some cooking techniques etc. So I’ve been bouncing around getting more training or schooling in nutrition to be able to do that well. If I’m more interested in the health coach option, are there any nutrition focused programs you might recommend?
You are so welcome. It's nice to have an idea of what your options are depending which direction you take. For health coaching I did Wellcoaches and highly recommend that program. They have standard and advanced programs as well. It's not nutrition focused per se, but it's focused on health habits overall, which help the most with behavior change and helping clients succeed.
That's wonderful! I did not do that certification, so I'm not any help there. You would be limited in that you would not be able to take insurance, just an FYI. But it's likely a quicker route to being finished. Dietitian route is now requiring a master's degree. HOpe that helps!

I’m looking at a career change. Nutrition and health has been my career for the last 20 years, but I’ve never been certified or educated in nutrition. Is it a four-year degree on top of a bachelors degree?

Wow that is fantastic. I'm not sure how difficult it is to get into the military, I've never done that. I do know some former coworkers who did that.

As an RN you don't need a nutrition certification to become a health coach.
