This is my choice for RV life. I love the quality. The tow capacity is great to fit my needs. Jayco nails this RV under 30 feet. I love the Black package! Retiring soon. Watch out road..here I come!❤😊

I have been looking at RV towables for YEARS. I've watched this video three times and I can honestly say I don't find anything wrong with it except the TV and I don't like those chairs. If I could afford it and not have to buy a truck I would buy that in a heartbeat. But in my case I would live in it.
And you are absolutely right about the hanging rod.

Hello, ok first off jayco here needs to explain why they can put a splatter guard here by the stovetop but can't do the same on towables. My dad had motorhomes, I have had motorhomes...what would worry me with this one is its on an e350 or e350 chassis, basically a 1 ton van chassis but they are hanging both slides, which are heavy, off the same side of the rv...Thats a LOT of weight, then add people sitting in those slides. Rv's with offset slides, ( on each side) balance out better both in road mode traveling as well as at a campsite. The huge benefits to a motorhomes over a towables are obvious: family not cooped up in a pickup cab, more relaxed family travel atmosphere, rv already cool or warm when u stop for the nite, etc. Downsides: can't unhook and go into town while separated from ur rv unless u tow a vehicle behind...and like me and everyone else Im sure, not good for mechanical engines/transmissions/gas/diesel to sit for long periods of time when not in use. Overall its a nice unit, but way too pricey for the average lunchbox jack and secretary Jill and their kids to afford for just a few times a year of travel. As usual, nice informative presentation, Sir. Thank You.

Own the entegra etseem bunkhouse model 31F. The TV location is fine, we like the sofa vs theater seating. Like the 12 cuft refrigerator vs 12v one. If they do change to 12v refrigerator, please increase solar system to 400-600 watts and install lithium batteries. Our 190watt standard panel with lead batteries can’t keep up during dry camping. Overhead bunk get too hot, needs better ventilation to that area with that front window.
Taking ours out tomorrow for a nine day trip during kids spring break.

There is nothing that I don’t like about this motorhome. Jayco makes a quality product all the way around. I’d save the $$ and stick with the standard non paint package. While a 12V fridge would be great with the solar package, I’d likely stick with the gas/electric and be able to have the pantry next to it. While I’m no fan of the bendy bed, it is what it is and acceptable. Same with the tv position. Really glad to see you showcase a motorhome. Hope you will do more of them. Camper floor plans are all so similar and a motorhome thrown into the mix every now and then is great! Thanks, Nerd!

Here’s my 2 cents, I’m a traveling worker and I believe it’s gonna be way of companies. They can’t get workers,,skilled. So rv’s are they to stay when on the road. We want a good kitchen and storage and room for bike, 4wheel. We don’t need a tv where storage cabinets can go!
If I’m not working I’m outside . Plus nothing on TV, u can stream movies on phone or computer!

12v compressor IF the pantry stays. Personal pref.: Stock colour. Yay F/R stabilizer bars + balanced driveshaft. Love those rearview mirrors. Love the height of all the exterior storage, even like the drop down doors. Very, very nice interior: layout, fit & finish - size of bathroom would be a problem for larger folk. TV position weak, but imagination and skills could fix that. So much storage space, wow. Dinette table has wall bracket, love, love, love. Big engine + curb weight = LotsaGas (be aware). Overall great design and execution. Very tempting. Great review, Josh! Thanks.

      Yeah they eat that fuel

    • @JeremyAkersInAustin
      @JeremyAkersInAustin ปีที่แล้ว

A 12v "10 cu ft" compressor fridge is exactly the same outside dimensions as the "8 cu ft" gas/electric fridge. That's because the propane lines take up so much room in the gas/electric models. So if they offered a 10 cu ft 12v fridge it would not eat into the pantry at all. You'd get more fridge space, keep the pantry, and not have to burn propane when driving down the road because the fridge would be powered by the coach alternator.
I don't really understand why gas/electric fridges are still standard equipment on so many RVs. I understand keeping them as an option for those that prefer them, but for the vast majority of RVers the 12v compressor fridge is the better option. The only advantage the gas/electric has is boon-docking, and even that advantage is slim: Sure you can run a gas/electric on propane for several days on a propane tank. But then you *have* to physically go fill that tank. And on a motorhome you can't just take the tank and run to a gas station and exchange it: You have to physically pack up the camper, drive the entire rig to a filling station and have it filled. Where as with the 12v compressor fridge: a couple solar panels on the roof will let you run that fridge indefinitely, or just start the coach (or generator) for a couple hours every day to keep the batteries charged.
So even without solar: You *can* easily go get gasoline to refill the coach or generator fuel tanks without having to move the coach, which is why I hate using propane. When you run out it's a PITA to get it refilled, especially on motor homes where the tanks are permanently attached and you have to drive the entire rig to a special filling station to get it refilled.

I've never cared for the TV location in most Class C RVs. I would rather see a slightly smaller dinette and a televator or the two window with TV wall between them.
I haven't heard of Ford lowering the torque spec on the 7.3L engine. They have made multiple versions from the beginning. For F Series trucks one with 350 HP, 468 ft-lbs @ 3900 RPM and the another with 430 HP, 475 ft-lbs @ 4000 RPM. The F450 up are standard with the lower spec'ed version. The higher output engine is an option in the F250 and F350. The F Series trucks are mated to a 10-speed transmission until you get to the F750 and up. I think the E450 cutaway has what Ford is calling their economy-rated calibration which is 325 HP, 450 ft-lbs @3800 RPM. The E450 is mated with a 6-speed transmission so that might have some effect on the lower specs. I think that "economy" in the engine tuning is the key. RV manufacturers were looking for a particular price point so Ford gave it to them. Specs might have changed since I last was looking into the 7.3L but I think the relationships between engine versions should still hold.
I'm still waiting to see what comes of Ford's 7.3L turbo project (though there are aftermarket turbo kits).

Bought a 2022 loaded Greyhawk 27U last March in San Diego! My wife and I came from 20years in a huge triple axle toy hauler. It's an awesome motorhome and we've spent over 60 days camping so far.
Ours came with a clothing wood rod in the big mirrored cabinet by the bathroom door... maybe the factory forgot to mount in yours. Also from what I heard Ford detuned the 7.3 Godzilla because of limited cooling of the E450 chassis, Compared to the F Series trucks. Once I'm out of the Ford factory warranty I'll have the horsepower brought back with a 5 star tune.
We tow a flat tow a 5100lb full size Mid Roof (148" wheelbase) Ford Transit Van with dirt bikes loaded inside. I also installed a front hitch so I can carry two dirt bikes on Joe haulers (front and back) when not pulling the TOAD.
We're glad Jayco didn't only added the front cap window until this year(why we didn't buy entegra) because they are a leak point and the powered shade fails often.
Thanks for your detailed reviews and general RV information...it helped us alot the year or so before we bought the Jayco!

Always nice to see a motorhome, and a Jayco is even better. As far as the fridge, I HAVE to have the two-way fridge. I am not one that likes RV parks, and don't want to have to rely on "hookups" to keep my food cold. Most of the Nat'l Forest and CCE parks don't have "hookups" and those underwhelming batteries that come with most Rigs aren't going to run the whole Rig no matter how many Solar Panels you have. I'm a Midwest guy too, but I travel to the 4 corners of this great nation of ours. I just don't like the picture being painted that the combination of a all electric fridge and a led acid battery and a 200w Solar panel is the makings of a fun filled outing, unless you're just heading to a RV park with electric. One of the better Class C layouts I’ve seen. Love all access in road-mode. But didn’t see hook ups for a TV in the bedroom; that would be a deal-breaker for me. And totally agree about SNL.

I love I can stop and go to the back and not step foot outside. I can put my groceries away, take a rest then jump in the driver's seat and move on. I definitely feel more secure knowing if there is any problems I can jump in the driver's seat and change locations at any time. No one knows if there are one or 5 people inside.
I removed my gas electric fridge and put in a chest type fridge with the doors in the top. The amount of storage space increased immensely doing that. Factory fridge takes up a lot of space plus no vent needed outside or on the roof. I then have the plug available so I can easy switch it to solar while driving. I use portable panels and solar generators for almost everything. I never use my gas generator and would love if it was not even on board. I have limitations as I don't like to tow so my travels to grocery or sight seeing can be limited and definitely planned in advance. If staying in one spot for weeks it normally takes me less then an hour to do my walk around plus doing my securing check list inside. Normally if I'm on the go it takes me less then 15 min to be on the road. Yes love my motorhome 😍

Yes on the 12v fridge. Definitely need a hanging rod in the bedroom. Definitely like the dark paint, but I'd probably take a pass based on the extra $$$. And I'd like a gallon of whatever you were drinking before you shot this one... Great stuff as usual!

This class C ticks a lot of boxes. We would keep the electric/gas refrigerator to keep the pantry space. But the tv mount and bed length are definitely two minuses. Could the tv issue be solved with a different mounting system? Does the infotainment center include a blu ray player? The bed is the same length as the bed in our Micro Mini. We were hoping to go to at least a true queen if we upgraded to something larger.

I prefer the gas/electric fridge with pantry. My biggest desires on a motorhome are recliners and a designated pantry. If I could find a floorplan with both of those and no slides, I’d be sold. Also, I like my partner and we like to snuggle, so a queen size bed is plenty. I don’t understand this obsession with king size beds. 🤷🏼‍♀️

A 12v fridge has my vote. I do not like a window in the front cap or in the front of a travel trailer. It’s just adds a greater possibility for water to get in that I can do without and it costs more to put it in. You had better like the mattress because of the different thickness of the foot section, and the fold, a standard thickness mattress will not work.
