    Thanks for review! Btw as a lightpainter main I think the "morse code" effect also comes from the light source not just from apps or cameras. For ex. a behind-a-tv led bar painting tool leaves dotted effect when the brightness is turned down and leaves continous effect when the brightness is crancked up. It's PWM. Also happens when whooting with dedicated cameras.

      You can’t unfortunately as they’re just a simulation.

      @@David_Addison oh... do you know apps that I can get RAW images from the phone taking long exposure time? I wanna astrophotography with my mobile phone and I dont know the apps that can get the light from deep space!

      The longest time you can expose in RAW is only 1 second, even on the latest devices. Probably because the iPhone would overheat if longer.

    Good video mate. Nice job. I love the slow shutter app, I use it for a fair bit. The light painting in SSC is much better (in my opinion) than the moment app. I found the moment app still has that morse code look in light painting. I remember a few years ago I tried an app that was just terrible for long exposures. I couldnt remember what it was called. I think your second one was it. Bloody terrible. Good reviews mate.

    What about Ever longer and Astroshader? Would you compare them for Milky Way shots and which would you choose? Ever longer, astroshader or Slow shutter?

      @@David_Addison I actually ended up buying the Slow Shutter Cam (that was a no-brainer) and finally decided on ProCamera (as opposed to Halide and Moment). ProCamera has a built-in 3D tilt meter which is super important for me as an architectural photographer. So that was a big plus for me. Thanks so much for your reviews! I binge-watched all of them :)

    I have been following your videos regarding the iphone camera apps.
    Halide mark 2 is out of my budget.
    I want complete manual controls - and wanted to know your suggestion - shall I go for the moment app. Hope I won’t be disappointed. And if go ahead with the moment app do I also need to pick up the slow shutter cam. Do I need to pick up both or just Moment app for their respective features

    There is this app called “blendeo” that has a ridiculous subscription/pricing on their app. What it advertises is something that other apps can’t do. Since its behind a paywall, i cannot use it. Maybe you can give it a try?
    I am already using slow shutter cam. But man I’ve used a huawei phone earlier and it could do all sorts of long exposure on its stock camera app.

    Is there any reason to buy Slow Shutter Cam if you have Moment? I was actually also planning to but the Spectre cam for the handheld feature but it doesn't look so promising here or is it worth a try? Great Video btw 👍 +1 Sub

      Thanks Andreas! No I don’t think so to be honest. Yeah, the handheld feature CAN work in very well lit situations but definitely not as intended unfortunately. It’s a shame because I want to like Spectre!

      Moment has this feature built in so you don't need Slow Shutter. Spectre is for handheld especially. It's awesome.

      @@ashtonsun an underrated feature of slow shutter cam is its simplicity. Just 2 or 3 clicks and you good. Sometimes you don’t want to mess around with settings for 5 minutes before shooting.

    I got both moment and slow shutter cam , I never paid full attention to slow shutter cam as I was excited about moment’s light trail capture preset.

    I just bought slow shutter cam, but when I use the low light mode and do a long exposure of like 30 seconds, The picure isn't actually any brighter than before and that feature seems pointless. What am I missing?

    Your review video was very interesting.
    In case of procam, can slow shutter mode be saved as raw?
    Shooting in slow shutter will only be saved in HEIC. I am very sad.
    If it's impossible, can you know which apps can be long exposed and raw?

      @@catikri Unfortunately, you can't see the metadata in the Photos app. You have to tap the Share icon and choose 'Save to Files'. Then within the Files app long press on the photo and tap Info.

    Buy both and DJI Osmo.
    I have my entire astronomy and astrophotography equipment. But sometimes they are not convenient,
    in fact, those occasions when I just feel like going out light.
    A great camera app, a mobile lens adapter and a dji stabilizer save the day or night….

    Next up you should try the Focos app for portraits and that artificial bokeh on single lens camera phones like your Xr , It’s free but works best with the in-app. purchase.

      I’ve tried Focos with the upgrade and it worked fairly well but it’s very limited by Apple’s depth mapping technology at the moment. I’ll be discussing/demonstrating depth in detail my next video.

    Great review! I saw the long exposure exemple in the video and i noticed second heart close to painted heart. Is it effect of a lens flare? Do you know how to avoid that in light painting ? I have iPhone 12pro and sometimes i have that during the shooting.Thank a lot!

      For long exposures, definitely! Just look at the examples in the video to see the difference in performance.

    Many thanks for review ! I bought spectre mostly because of developer's team, because Halide was amazing. But I think they put all their effort on improving Halide, and spectre now is completely useless(
