Mason & Sons Safari Jacket Review

- In recent times the Safari Jacket has made something of resurgence and it's in no small part due to James Bond! Lightweight, stylish, and versatile, the Anthony Sinclair Safari Jacket takes its cues from the practical considerations of Hemingway’s bush jacket, the directional styling of Yves Saint Laurent’s interpretation, and naturally, the most sincere reverence to the late Sir Roger Moore. Mason & Sons made these tributes to him as a modern take on a traditional classic...and we put them through their paces in this review.

Looks great...Tom Ford LOVES these kinds of jackets...you often see him wearing a black one when travelling. Surprised Craig hasn’t worn one yet as a nod to Roger!!
Yes, the TF ones are very cool too!
Excellent to see these reviewed and nodded too. We've yet to have a cyclical resurgence of a Moore type bond although I think Brosnan semi -incorporated a little moore-ism into his own personification. I think Craig has tried to embody Connery /lazenby and Dalton.
The black leather version that DeNiro wears in the movie Midnight Run has always been my favourite leather jacket. This style covers all bases - from dressy super smart to casual and incredibly practical with all those handy pockets.
I ordered one from Jimmy Cheng who was the original tailor in the MWTGG
I actually quite like Safari jackets. I have a number of vintage jackets they look great worn casually with jeans. Sir Roger was one of the best dressed Bonds. There are not many channels out there that recommends Safari jackets. Well done. May have to dig them out when lockdown is over.....
Dig 'em out!
Looks great, but where are the epaulets?
David the material you're thinking of at 7:17 is called Mithril. Bilbo Baggins was given a chainmail shirt made of Mithril by Thorin Oakenshield (The Hobbit) and later it was gifted to Frodo by Bilbo (Lord of the Lings: FotR) Bilbo said it was as light as a feather and as hard as dragon scales!
Safari Jacket is so much great. I wear it since 20 years. Could be worn like a casual jacket, with a simple tshirt and a pair of jeans, or like a blazer, with a nice dress pant, a shirt and a tie.
May I ask if this jacket is your new favourite? The name of the armour is Mithril, made by the dwarves in Khazad Dhum.
Looks Cool Timeless style. Thanks David. (:
Thank you!
Mithril? @7:20
Probably! LOL!
Willis & Geiger Safari Jackets. ❤ Egyptian Cotton fire hose material.
Thanks for the reco!
Nobody could pull off the safari jacket as well as Roger Moore did as he was the epitome of elegance
No argument here! :)
David the company does not post to the UK? oh while i am here, your review on the no tme to die Omega watch you where did you order the long sleve black short zip colour slight sheen , please can you help?
Actually, Mason & Sons is based in the UK.....and they absolutely post there.... :)
thanks i was refering to your was jacket from the trailer scene + that jersey from you review if the Omega ?
Hello David, great video as always, can you confirm a couple of things please? The first Jacket, is that Sand or Khaki? Secondly, the blue jacket, is that the same material as the first jacket? Regards Carl
The first is sand, and the second jacket (blue) is made of a different material....same form tho'....
is this close to the one worn by Roger at the boxing match in GG?
The green jacket in Golden Gun matches very closely to the Orlebar Brown version...this one is closest to Moonraker.
Where can I get that tshirt?? Love it!
emporiumofsolace.com/
Awesome, thanks for the quick response!
David, do you know of a Hong Kong tailor that does suits, etc that's reliable? Love your channel.
Even after all the protests and covid lockdowns?
I believe tailor Hi Fat , Kowloon bay near the bottoms up club
You either have to wear the collared shirt and tie, or no shirt at all under it.
David! Amazing video...how does it compare to the Orlebar Brown version?
They are quite different....the OB one is more a shacket vs traditional jacket. But like them both!
@@TheBondExperience I am happy with the OB one as well. It was an amazing find.
Lots of great enthusiasm.

Looks constricting in the arm holes, tight across the chest. Doesn't look like you conceal anything under the material, so much for the Walther or Baretta! For action clothes, I don't think so,,,,,.
So...you spent over 1,000 GBP on something which could have been (perhaps) a better custom or mtm order.... and the fabric shine makes it look cheap. Sorry David, not feeling this one.
Safari jackets should not come back into fashion even when in the middle of an apocalyptic pandemic.
Would you sell me the blue Sinclair Safari jacket?
