THANKS TO THE IBEW, I WAS ABLE TO BUY RENTAL PROPERTY OVER THE YEARS AND TRAVEL THE WORLD. NOW RETIRED, AND TRAVELING THE WORLD MORE!! BEST DECISION I EVER MADE AND VERY GRATEFUL TO THE IBEW. 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
I’m a union labor making $38.89 a hour with health care an retirement … join a union or Form one. .., you pay dues to pay health an retirement into anything retirement positive benefits.., Unions are what made the middle class
Unions are for people whose management screws them over. Non union shops with good management that takes care of their people won't go union. This includes local governments I was a union cop in San Antonio and our management and elected officials tried to screw us over all the time: unpaid OT, unshceduled work days (get dressed and come in) petty punishments for raising these issues and a lot more. Our union lawyer was a retired NYPD cop turned lawyer and a red-headed irishman, and he was great. When we had a problem we told him and he complained to management so the target was not on our backs. Unions serve a purpose and I was glad I was in one.
In any field, not only the IBEW - The best pay and working conditions are with the Union Worker. The MD's have even discovered this, as there are now a couple of UNION Hospitals where the Doctors are in the Union.
I've been working at a non-union shop for 4 years and was so caught up in the stress of trying to learn a little and keep my job by cleaning at the same time that I didn't realize how poorly I was being compensated. I blame myself nonetheless, he kept me at $18/hr for 4 years, granted I went part time for 2. I can wire a house now. I have all hands on deck trying to get into the union, happy to pay dues just to work with some Jmen who want to teach me!
Get out of non union ASAP. If you’re a good worker and can do your job well. You’ll stay employed. Sure there’s still some BS. But you’re better off being in the union. 11 years non union and 4 now in the union. Really wish I could go back In time.
My other job used to be full time now part time non union pays me $35 hr and health insurance not free, 12 days pto a year and no sick pay it gets taken out from our pto. My full time pays me $45.33 hr and free health insurance, PTO 16 days a year, 36 hr sick pay separate from pto.
I lived in California and went to a trade school like 10 years ago and I didn’t go through with working as an electrician, I regret it now but now I was offered a job to work for ibew in Minnesota but I don’t want to live in Minnesota it’s too cold 🥶 if they would offer me a job in California or Tennessee I would definitely jump at the offer as a construction wiremen. What should I do?…

The union in VA has insurance that you pay fully till the end of the year and if they don't lose the receipts you may get paid back

First of all thanks for the video.
I have a question, how many pensions check will get a retired person from a local union?
Hello! I’m Just starting out as an apprentice. I was offered a conditional position for the first 45 days. Is this common? Thank you.
Thank you
Good luck getting in. It's all politics going union
