I don't think Mii's will go away anytime soon. I think just recently at Nintendo Museum I think you can set your mii on your ticket. Still happy that Nintendo remembers these guys and hope there is a transfer feature for Switch Mii's on the Switch 2.
There actually is a way to get Miis from the 3DS/Wii U to your Nintendo Account and mobile titles. By linking your Nintendo Network ID (NNID) to your Nintendo Account, you can import the Mii used for your NNID profile to your Nintendo account! I had updated my personal Mii this year, so I can verify that this method still works!
@Real_Faygo Log into your Nintendo Account on a browser. Go to User Information. Go to Linked apps and services. There should be a list of links or services. I believe the NNID is the first one. In the US region, at least, it’s the only bright orange option.
@@Real_Faygo I don’t know what happened to my reply. Log into your Nintendo Account, go to Account Settings, go to User Information, and go to Linked Apps and Services. NNID should be the first one on the list, but even if it’s not, it’s the white “n” on the bright orange background. Good luck.
vWii's Mii channel does have the connect to DS feature. This is how I was able to transfer Miis with Japanese names to my Wii U. This is also one of the few ways you can directly connect a DS (not 3DS) to a Wii U.
I may know too much about Nintendo that I was able to guess the solution by the title; let me guess. You use the Wii's DS transfer tool to transfer the Mii to your 3DS, you use your 3DS to copy it onto an amiibo, And then you scan the amiibo on the switch.
I've been using the same Mii on every platform since I got my Wii in 2007. I have transferred him to 3DS, Wii U, Switch, DS, and Android. I will also keep him on the Switch 2 as long as that's possible!
Also, if you use the Miitomo revival service, you can scan the QR code in there to get the Mii on there! That's how I still use my Mii on Android. It was always an option when the app existed.
They are actively phasing out the Miis for literal years now. The Switch has no Mii related features (Streetpass, Swap Notes, Miiverse, ...) and nearly all of the games that support Miis are either ports or sequels of Wii, Wii U or 3DS games. And I don't even think there's a single non-Nintendo published game that supports Miis. I'm sorry but that's just the truth
@@netizen10008 I'm obviously talking about this gen. Pretty much every game (Nintendo or not) used Miis during the Wii era (even if it was only for a profile picture). Now it's basically non.
4:47 No, you can use the secret code on the Wii U virtual Wii Mii channel to enable transfer to DS. But I've only used it to copy Miis onto my 3DS, something that also applies to my use of that button on the original Wii.
i'm aware you'll be stuck with the gray pants so i understand if this method would put people off, but for those who don't have the time or resources to do this, you can always recreate the mii by editing the mii on the console you originally made it on and count how many times the proportions change until you can't change it anymore. it would take around 5 minutes per mii and it's pretty accurate as well if you know what you're doing alternatively, if you have a way to get the mii data, you can upload it to a website and get the exact information to recreate the mii that way. i don't have the link right now but once i find it i will definitely add it in here
Hey I have done this before :) Glad the process is documented online! I haven't even started the video yet, but if I remember correctly you can directly connect the Wii and 3DS, and then store the Mii onto an amiibo to move it to the Wii U or Switch! (And most likely Switch 2!) I have brought 2 of my original miis from my Wii to 3DS, and then those two and a third one to Switch, and I do have a fourth one now that will be moved onwards, though I'm not too attached yet. (Maybe I finally need to get Miitopia for the Switch!) Again, it's so cool to see a video of this online now! Thanks for making it. Time to watch!!! :)
Well since it was just announced that the next gen Switch will be backwards compatible with the current Switch, the process to bring your Mii’s from your OG Wii alll the way to the next Switch could go like this: Either do a full system transfer from a Wii to a Wii U, or send them to a 3DS. Then use the “Copy from Mii channel” option or the “Send/Receive” option if using a 3DS to get them to the Wii U Mii Maker. Then on Wii U, have one or more Amiibo and assign the Mii(s) you want to the Amiibo Then use the “Copy from Amiibo” option on the Switch (Hypothetical since the next Switch isn’t out yet as of writing this) Then on the new Switch, preform a system transfer. And there you have it! Your Mii collection has successfully been transferred through 4 GENERATIONS of Nintendo consoles!
Technically you can skip the Wii U, the new 3ds models have amiibo and the successor to the switch probably also have amiibo so I guess it will just take 3 consoles and at least one amiibo
I’ve genuinely gone OG Wii > 3DS > Wii U > Amiibo > Switch in my youth as I never bothered transferring my data from Wii to Wii U as a kid, and I “collected” amiibo as a kid (as in I got the Splatoon 3 pack, Ness, and Kirby LOL) It’s oddly nostalgic seeing this topic discussed again, I also had the great joy of booting up Pikmin Bloom for the first time this year and got to reuse my old Mii due to the account shenanigans. I won’t let him ever die..
I transferred my original Mii from my childhood Wii to my 3DS then to my Wii U and finally to my Switch via my Amiibo. She’s travelled quite the distance and has barely changed over the years. I fully intend to send her to the Switch 2 if they include them and keep her as my Mii on my myNintendo account.
Nintendo confirmed that the Switch 2 will have backwards compatibility and support Nintendo Switch Online so you’ll probably be able to transfer miis without the ridiculous Amiibo method
saying this before watching the video, i think he'll transfer the mii from the wii to the wii u, then put the mii in a amiibo, then use the amiibo with the mii in it on the nintendo switch (edit: seems to be i was wrong, he goes from wii to ds, then from ds to 3ds, 3ds to wii u and wii u to switch)
The Mii Channel on Wii U does have the Connect to DS option, you just didn't do the button combo. Also, you don't need to transfer your Miis to your Wii U in the process since you can just use your 3DS to save the Miis onto an amiibo, and on older 3DS models there's an NFC reader/writer you can use for amiibo.
you can transfer from vWii (virtual wii) to wii u from the wii u mii maker theres the recieve/send button and inside that section is an option to clone miis from the vWii
