The complexity of the soda fountain mix options are definitely underrated and underexplored. It stands as a testament to human creativity and ingenuity.
Every single time i went to my aunt as a kid she would give me this mysterious drink she called 'a spacey' and it was so good so i asked my mom to buy some, but it wasn't anywhere in the supermarkets. I just last year found out it was just cola and fanta mixed together.
When my dad and his brother were kids (probably around 1981/1982) they sold mixed sodas on the sidewalk like a lemonade stand. My dad made a citrus/cola mix that’s equal parts Fanta, root beer, and Cherry Pepsi (in that order), and now it’s become a family tradition to buy all three whenever we get sodas
Worked at a restaurant for about 5 years, where I found the secret flavor combination to get Baja blast. It was so spot on, some of my regulars started requesting it (Baja blast with Mexican food is a match made in heaven) Half sprite Quarter lemonade Quarter blue Powerade Squeeze quarter lime and garnish with lime wedge🤌
I always saw two constants when it came to soda mixing: Dr. Pepper was the "universal receiver", where you could mix just about anything into it for a different though Dr. Pepper forward flavor, and Sprite was the "universal donor", where it could re-carbonate an almost flat soda without affecting the flavor too much.
Love how Santi is horrified at how the Pepsi Mix could taste so bad, but Mat is more curious about how the Pepsi Mix could taste so bad. Different minds make different finds I suppose.
For a chuggable, low carbonation sugar rush, we had something that we called Hulk juice, 1 part blue powerade 1 part Hi-C orange 3 parts sprite .5 part lemonade It was *very* green and the sugar rush + electrolytes was a decent replacement for caffeine
Santi being a bartender is that kind of information you learn and it's like "woah, really?" and then you go "wait, no, actually. Yeah, I'm surprised I didn't guess that already."
i absolutely love soda mixing , as someone who works at a gas station/ restaurant and gets free drink i’m a gigantic fan of mixing things , multiple mtn dews mixed with sprite are almost always good , and tea mixed with soda is kinda great
Standard mix in Germany is coke/fanta(orange), also known as 'Spezi'. So popular that it was released as MezzoMix by Coke (plus many other brands). But fanta tastes very different (less artificial; better in my opinion) in Germany than the US.
2:38 i am actually a mixologist. Literally my mom asked me to make her a margarita as a joke, and i made an actual margarita 🗿. She said it was the best she’d tasted in a long time. Thats where my career began 💀
I’ve been drinking 3parts blue Powerade and 1 part sprite for almost a decade. One of my favorite combos. Good to know I’ve been onto something. Great episode.
I mean that's what I learned to be the ghetto hack replacement of sprite remix, the best sprite that should have never been discontinued. Funny enough I've also heard that blue powerade and mountain dew also makes ghetto baja blast. So there you have it Baja Blast is just the exhumed corpse of sprite remix confirmed.
Great choice, i do that too lol. In general, mixing any kind of juice (lemonade, powerade, Hi C fruit punch) with sprite is great. Its literally just punch 😂
The layering feels much less important in a restaurant setting with a fountain machine simply because most everyone drinks with a straw, meaning you'll be drinking from the bottom of the drink first. I guess you could try reversing the order of the layers, but I don't think a straw would allow you to taste the layering of the drinks.
Honestly I'm concerned about his sanity. Maybe it's good that he retired. Between the gross food experiments and FNaF theories, I'd hate to see what would happen if he continued.
I go with waterver is available, SOMETIMES adding sweet tea and/or lemonade helps a lot. If you do add them, make sure it is not contradicting with the other stuff. Also, it is very hard to make a mixed soda with all the drinks, but not impossible.
This is so interesting because as an Australian I've never had any of this "swamp water" because our fast food restaurants don't really have those soda fountains (at least not the self serve kind). Kinda interested to try it out tho and mix up my own stuff
not entirely true, i'm also aussie and where/when I grew up, the Hungry Jacks stores all had diy unlimited refill machines. It's just a couple decades ago so maybe they've changed it recently. I wanted to see them mixing Solo/Lift into the mix, instead of say sprite
i worked in a kitchen for a while and a personal favorite mix is 1/2 blue powerade, 1/4 sprite, 1/4 orange fanta, with ice. kept me hydrated pretty well and kept it interesting
What I always find fascinating is that when Powerade is included in traditional fountain drink machines it is always Mountain Berry Blast (Blue), but that flavor is never present in the freestyle machines. Probally has something to due with how that flavor is not used with any other drink unlike: orange, grape, fruit punch, etc.
Hey! Someone who works at a restaurant that has a Freestyle here - you're right on the money. In the lower half of the fountain are boxes with pouches of flavor concentrate (think liquid flavor enhancers like MIO, but without the sweetener.) There are flavor pouches for the regular sodas as well as pouches for the flavors down there, and there really isn't much room. Recently, the raspberry flavor has departed to make room for pineapple, which is a shame, because Coke Raspberry is my favorite flavor. Anywho, it just comes down to them not wanting to sacrifice another flavor or a different soda for a Powerade flavor that probably doesn't sell well when there are so many other options. Hope this helps!
I work in a Cookout with an indoor lobby, and I've developed 3 of my own (simple) mixes: 1. My Personal Favorite: Start with half a glass of crushed ice, add a splash of Mellow Yellow, then top with Pibb 2. Cherry Daiquiri: Again, half a glass of crushed ice, half Cheerwine, top with Sprite 3. Sugar Swamp: One more time, half a glass of crushed ice, half Powerade, top with sweet tea
Ohhh the Cherry Daiquiri sounds really good! I like a bit of pretty much any fruit flavored soda added to a base of Sprite. I’m originally from NC so I’m very familiar with Cheerwine, but now that I live in AZ, it is unfortunately very hard to come by.
Is it weird that i think Santi LOOOKS like a bartender? Like, thru vibes alone, Matt says "former bartender Santi" and i'm just like, "yup, definitely a bartender"
I'm not too big on mixes, but one duel mix I always went for was Sprite and lemonade. It's fizzy, it's refreshing, and just a simple but good drink to have with fast food.
My dad and I did this, too, with pink lemonade specifically. Now that I'm older, I'll add a splash of either pineapple Fanta or Baja Blast to give a 'tropical punch' feel

MatPat isn’t dying is he? I know he wants to spend time with his family but he seems way too young to retire. I guess I missed his video (thanks youtube!)
He just wanted to spend time with his family some more and he would rather quit when his TH-cam channeling is booming then quit while his channeling is dead or about to die
My mix growing up isn't as easily available anymore since McDonalds changed what they offer, but was as follows: ~48% Barq's Root beer ~24% Orange Hi-C ~24% Blue Powerade ~2% Sprite It had a nice sweet tangy flavor, and without having heard any of the other names for mixed drinks, I called it sewer water... because that's what it looked like.
for me, i call them mashups and my fave is pepsi max cherry with some fanta lemon topped off with a bit of apple and blackcurrant squash (yes, it does appear in soda fountains in england) honestly, the squash makes it so good
I used to always mix roughly 25% sprite, 50% lemonade, and 25% hi-c as a kid. Adding the orange at the end is so satisfying to watch. It's carbonated citrus heaven.
it really depends on if you do it at a fountain or not, because "restaurants" can control the ratio of syrup to water in the soda, so to every fountain would be slightly different, it's a much better from a scientific standpoint to use bottled or canned drinks as they are controlled variables, the ratio of sodas and ice and whatever can change, but the sodas themselves will stay the same, put them in drink dispensers if you want the authentic soda fountain experience
When I was working at a Hardee’s, I often combined that blue Powerade with Mellow Yellow to make Baja Blast. Also, if you can get the Powerade syrup itself with it, it makes it even better.
@@ThatFriendlyMantis358It's not 100% exact, but it's like 90% of the way there. The only way you'd really be able to tell the difference is if you drank them side-by-side.
This makes a lot of sense because my dads favorite soda when I was younger was mellow yellow and then he switched to mt. dew specifically Baja blast he loves very similar flavors I guess
FINALLY! Someone doing with their face what I've wanted to do with a robot and a scale. I've had mixes that were utterly bland until the aftertaste kicked in hard enough to draw tears. There's tap water that when added will pull all the carbonation out of a mix leaving it completely flat. These drinks have been my jam for decades.
In Germany they market mixed soda drinks, such as Mezzo Mix (cola and orange soda), and every German kid grows up knowing what a Spezi is (equal parts cola, orange soda and Sprite/what we call lemonade)
@@stormtroopert16 that is not a drink that people make, and it’s not one people can buy easily either. Lemons don’t grow easily in Germany, so it’s not really one we think about
Yeah I think alot of people call it that, the best one I've had was at a hotel during breakfast (I forgot the exact concoction but it was all of the sodas in an older machine)
One of my favorite tricks I learned at a summer camp on a college campus was when combining Mountain Dew with equal parts blue Powerade (and SPECIFICALLY POWERADE) it tastes and looks almost exactly the same as Baja Blast
I haven't seen anyone mention this yet..but this episode reminded me of visiting any of the local soda shops in my area. I'm from Utah, where the soda addictions are truly next level, and this is child's play. You haven't tasted hurricane until you taste the unlikely mix of 2 sodas, 3 flavor syrups, coffee creamer, and a splash of monster all in a 44 once cup! My personal favorite is called a Cocolada: coke, whip cream, pineapple, and coconut.
we have a syrup stand for coffees at the gas station i work at. im a big cherry fan so i go 1 third coke, one third sprite and one sixth dr p and code red with one splash mocha syrup makes a good sip. if you add energy ( our fountains have four auxilary syrups you can choose after the soda) id reccomend a second mocha splash or vanilla splash to settle the bitterness. its not named yet but i find it to be pretty good.
@SuperLifestream i dont do carbonation so i do lemonade instead, but for me, the cream is TANTAMOUNT. its not whip cream, its usually just half and half. if im just mixing something at home i'll sometimes use heavy cream, both work. the tartness and overbearing sweetness from all the flavor shots get taken down to a manageable level, and it adds a certain depth to it. (side note: my usual orders end up being passionfruit, raspberry, peach, and vanilla cream)
I live 8 miles from Utah, and yeah, y'all's soda addiction is pretty wild. I chalk it up to the "no hot caffeine" rule of a certain ubiquitous religious organization. 😒 Heck, a great deal of my LDS friends call Mountain Dew "Mormon coffee"! But since we ARE talking about Utah and the word "hurricane", it only feels right that it be pronounced the way the city in Utah is - Hurrikin! 😂
When I was blessed enough to visit Germany and Austria as a kid, my father once ordered me and my sister a couple soda beverages. (an extremely rare treat for us) He told us it was called "spezi" and that he used to love it when he was growing up in Hamburg in his highschool years. Ever since then, I've always mixed roughly 3 parts Coke and 1 part orange Fanta whenever I walk up to a soda fountain. Brings back very good memories and tastes pretty dang good.
Use orange pellegrino instead of orange Fanta and you will have something very close to spezi. One of my favorites. I occasionally find spezi imported from Germany in small candy stores or world markets.
at 13:20 there's a big block of code-like text that shows up for two frames. not sure what it says or if it's even supposed to be there so i'll just leave it to someone else to figure out
It _might_ have something to do with the graphics of the Pepsi can that shows up at the exact same spot a billionth of a second later. Maybe. You be the judge.
I think thats just an editing mistake or something like that. On the bottom it´s referring to the support email of "the foundry" which seems to just be a software developer for content creators and such.
I would actually like to see this one revisited, with STRAWS thrown into the equation. When you drink from a cup, you're drinking from the top of the mix. But when you drink from a straw, you're drinking from the bottom. How would that affect the flavor profile?
It also affects the carbonation when you drink through a straw. Which is why McDonald’s has a patent on their straws because they have a specific design to make the drink taste a good as possible.
If it’s well-mixed enough at a high temperature before making its temperature lower and you drink it through a McDonald’s straw specifically, it should taste the same if not a little bit less sweet
I’m a simple woman, three parts lemonade to one part sprite has been my go-to for years. Recently I worked for a place with a juice fountain, too. I’d get sparkling water + tropical juice (mango, pineapple, and orange) and it was sooooo goood 😔miss that drink. This video certainly makes me excited to experiment more with my drinks, so maybe I will!
my personal favorite, you know that ORS packets given to patients when they suffer from vomiting/diarrhea, just that with soda (carbonated water) and a lime, gosh it this the best refreshing drink i ve ever had thru my throat in my entire life
lol, i was just drinking ORS right now. Please do tell what brand and flavour ORS you are using cause different brands taste way different from each other.
Hoo boy. This episode speaks to me. I’ve been mixing sodas for decades, and I typically spend at least half a minute at soda fountains. As for my typical mix, I mainly fixate on citrus, coke, and cherry. I usually go Sprite (1 second), Mello Yello (1.5 sec), Fanta orange (2 sec), and cherry coke (1-1.5 sec), plus other miscellaneous related pops if I have some room left.
as a water drinker, i know I will never use this information, but this useless knowledge is why i love the channels, whether that be random equations and karat values from game theory, the average packing density of ellipsoid objects from film theory, and this perfect soda that i will never drink, this is why i love these channels
One thing I've learned playing around with the Freestyle machines is that Vanilla plays really well with fruit flavors. Cream Soda will play well with Orange, Strawberry, and Peach. Cream Soda helps bridge to something like a Coke Zero and connects the Coke flavor to the fruit. I think this is the principle behind why Strawberries and Cream Diet Dr. Pepper tastes so good. The heavy Vanilla mellows out the fruit notes of the Strawberry and Dr. Pepper. This is the long-winded way of saying my preferred movie Soda mix is a Coke Zero base followed by a splash of Vanilla Coke, Cream Soda, and a mix of Strawberry and Peach Fanta on top. To me, this mix tastes like drinking a Coke while also having a mouthful of Vanilla ice cream with cut up Strawberries and Peaches already in my mouth.
I once worked at my local Arby’s and for lunch I would take a cup and fill it with the following; Sprite, Lemonade, Powerade, and finally, Unsweetened Tea. I never really figured out how much of each I just judged the amounts on my own. And in rare occasions if I felt like it I added a tiny part of water if I wanted more drink but felt I already had enough of the sugars and carbonation.
21:38 Sam, buddy. I get your point, but I would absolutely ask Da Vinci about fractions of blue in The Last Supper. He’d probably know the mass of the pigments, too.
Yeah, otherwise how would they be able to accurately reproduce colours without having to do trial and error matching every time... Also paints generally change colour wet to dry (and pigments can also oxidise when mixed/wettened) so knowing your ratios for the final colour you want when dry takes the guesswork out of it 😊
When I was a little kid, every time my parents took me to a fast food place I'd take my soda cup and fill it with every single flavor of soda that was available at the fountain. Good times, man.
thanks man, that means alot. i wish the poor bot could experience the feelings of love that I can feel. Oh wait, no I don't. Cuz no one loves that bot@@liamurness302

Food theory idea: ✨ What temperature of water is the healthiest for your body? ✨ So I know we've already covered that we can taste different kinds of water and hear water temperature, but how does that affect out bodies? 👤 I mainly got this idea from my dad, he is always mad at me for drinking ice-cold water everyday 🧊(not a fan of soda). He says it's unhealthy, as it stiffens my stomach, slowing down my digestive system and makes me more prone to getting sick. 🤢 He ALWAYS drinks lukewarm or hot water, EVEN DURING HOT DAYS! ☀️ He says warm water helps keep the stomach running efficiently, and powers up the body to keep moving. 🏃♂️ I normally just shrug it all off, but he mentioned it to me again while I was literally sitting down watching a food theory video and it hit me. I could ask HERE! 🙋♀️ I know the probability of this happening is low, especially with Mat signing off soon. But maybe it could work out as a mini food theory? Like a youtube short. 👀 I honestly just want to know if I can use it to BACK my dad OFF for once, or be shocked to see if he actually has a point...🤔 It's all on you team theorists.🔫💛
For a more fruity mix without dark sodas: sprite, orange soda, pink lemonade, fruit punch (also an overlooked option at some soda fountains) topped with more sprite. I've been doing this one for years!
Santi Supreme recipe (26:38) 1 part Dr. Pepper 1 splash Code Red 1 splash Orange Fanta 1 splash Mountain Dew 1 part Blue Powerade 1 part Sprite 1 part Coca-Cola 1 part Diet Coca-Cola Could probably simplify this to just 3 ingredients: Santi Select recipe 1 part Dr. Pepper 1 part Blue Powerade 2 parts (Diet) Coca-Cola But that's just a theory.
Never have I felt more compelled to comment on a Food Theory Video. To start, I have been making "self unaliveing" beverages from about as far back as I can remember being presented drink options and choosing all. As a mater of fact I just enjoyed such a mixed beverage with the dinner I consumed watching this video. As a chemistry major in college, I actively made a concerted effort to evaluate the concoctions I crafted. However, I feel that my results are drastically different due to several key preferences: 1. I don't like ice in my drinks (hurts my teeth and waters down the flavor over time) 2. I generally prefer fruity and citrus flavors over coke related flavors 3. I can enjoy a very strong sugar flavor in drinks so long as they are also very sour 4. I never experimented with the mix order as I was often drinking through straws (in college) or letting the drinks mix before consuming Some of the major realizations I had were as follows: 1. Light and dark rarely mix well (as shown by the sprite + coke in the video) 2. less citrusy fruit flavors (cherry, strawberry, grape, blueberry, blackberry, etc.) work well to bridge the gap and can work well both with dark sodas as well as light ones. (sadly despite my love of cheerwine, its inclusion would often water down the resulting mixture, instead of adding its unique cherry flavor) 3. honestly, my favorite combinations include mixing real fruit juices with sodas, but as this video is about exclusively what is on tap i will refrain from delving into that particular tangent With all of that being said, here are 3 of the concoctions I have come to enjoy over the years (note %'s would vary depending on daily preference) 1. 45% Cherry Coke + 45% Root Beer + 10% Dr. Pepper - my go to dark drink in college for when I felt so inclined. interestingly the coke and root beer alone would foam excessively developing quite a "head" (this was detrimental to rapidly filling up the cup) but adding just the 10% of dr. pepper would reduce the foam considerably. 2. 30% Mtn Dew Baha Blast + 20% Mtn Dew + 10% Sierra Mist + 20% Tropicana Fruit Punch + 10% Lemonade + 10% Mango Brisk Iced Tea - Taco Bell staple both acidic and fruity 3. 30% Cherry Limeade + 20% Raspberry Fanta + 20% Grape Powerade + 20% Mello Yellow (classic) + 10% Orange Sprite - for Coke freestyle machines, many different variations, absolutely prefer the fruit basket approach, the trick is not letting any one fruit flavor become too dominate (like orange)
I have been drinking my own mix since I was a kid and I’ve been told I’m crazy. It is equal parts lemonade (pink or yellow), root beer, and lemon-lime soda. Traditionally Minute Maid, Barqs, and Sprite from a McDonalds fountain. I never had a dedicated order for layering though.
I'm late to this party... But a couple of things: 1. Been doing this since I was a kid. A mainstay of fast food outings with my dad. So this video just drew me in. 2. Burger King does make sense to be the purveyor. Burger King brought "have it your way" to fast food. I do believe that was the advent of self serve sodas in fast food along with having your burgers and meals however you liked. 3. My theory is a soda blend will not be a soda blend without Dr. Pepper. Those 23 flavors blend masterfully once you go down that soda line. 4. Orange soda is also a requirement. Don't ask me why. It just is. Also Sprite. 5. The key definitely is amount. This is where you have to set up the blend with all of the sodas you want to add. Then tweak it based on taste to add more of which soda you feel will give it that right amount of yum.😋 6. I can't believe I have not made one of these in like 20 years yet I remember my method to a science!😂 7. But hey... That's just a theory...
My brother was a swamp water drinker when we were little. I think his preferred blend used to contain root beer, ginger ale, orange soda, and possibly some lemon-lime soda. I wasn’t into mixing until they came out with the Freestyle machine. I like cherry, vanilla, lime Coca-Cola. I guess using only coke flavors isn’t really in the spirit of swamp water lol but I like it
my favorite is a mix with about 1 third fanta, 1 third sprite, and then fill up the rest of it with sprite fruit punch or root beer depending on what's available. ALWAYS POUR THE FANTA FIRST
I can already see someone at Coca Cola running into their office, practically screaming, "You got to taste this!" followed quickly with a "We got SELL this!"
I didn't even know that the mix's were even called swamp water or any of the other ones, I just knew them as the soda mix. My favourite combination would probably be first 8/16 Ice Peach Tea, 5/16 Sprite and then 3/16 Fanta
@21:30, got to call you out here Matt!!! Most recipes would have it written as 1/8 cup + 1/16 cup of whatever_ingredient and expect you to realize that it is the same as 3/16 cup or 1.5 fl oz or 3 Tbsp or 9 tsp.

The layering feels much less important in a restaurant setting with a fountain machine simply because most everyone drinks with a straw, meaning you'll be drinking from the bottom of the drink first. I guess you could try reversing the order of the layers, but I don't think a straw would allow you to taste the layering of the drinks.
If you're going through all of these lengths to make swamp soda I don't think you're going to mind skipping the lid and straw of the cup lol

This video is super relatable because I mix a bunch of different sodas all the time when I eat at a restaurant with a soda machine.
I once for some reason had a metal cup at a soda fountain (they were provided I dont remember) and it really worked with that mixture
@@jntproductions1 its exactly what I suspected.

it really depends on if you do it at a fountain or not, because "restaurants" can control the ratio of syrup to water in the soda, so to every fountain would be slightly different, it's a much better from a scientific standpoint to use bottled or canned drinks as they are controlled variables, the ratio of sodas and ice and whatever can change, but the sodas themselves will stay the same, put them in drink dispensers if you want the authentic soda fountain experience
When I was working at a Hardee’s, I often combined that blue Powerade with Mellow Yellow to make Baja Blast. Also, if you can get the Powerade syrup itself with it, it makes it even better.

You haven't tasted hurricane until you taste the unlikely mix of 2 sodas, 3 flavor syrups, coffee creamer, and a splash of monster all in a 44 once cup! My personal favorite is called a Cocolada: coke, whip cream, pineapple, and coconut.
hahaha ikr, I was like "these people have clearly never been to Utah"
Utahns are like either never touched soda or the ultimate hurricane soda addict.
Pineapple, Coconut and coke is just a malibu and coke with out the alcohol... Whip cream? ew
we have a syrup stand for coffees at the gas station i work at. im a big cherry fan so i go 1 third coke, one third sprite and one sixth dr p and code red with one splash mocha syrup makes a good sip. if you add energy ( our fountains have four auxilary syrups you can choose after the soda) id reccomend a second mocha splash or vanilla splash to settle the bitterness. its not named yet but i find it to be pretty good.

I would actually like to see this one revisited, with STRAWS thrown into the equation.
When you drink from a cup, you're drinking from the top of the mix. But when you drink from a straw, you're drinking from the bottom. How would that affect the flavor profile?
yesss, its also a fact that straws change the flavour of things: they can be used to hide the flavour of things
Now I can hide the flavor of my d****d drinks
It also affects the carbonation when you drink through a straw. Which is why McDonald’s has a patent on their straws because they have a specific design to make the drink taste a good as possible.
If it’s well-mixed enough at a high temperature before making its temperature lower and you drink it through a McDonald’s straw specifically, it should taste the same if not a little bit less sweet

Yeah, otherwise how would they be able to accurately reproduce colours without having to do trial and error matching every time... Food theory idea:
✨ What temperature of water is the healthiest for your body? ✨
So I know we've already covered that we can taste different kinds of water and hear water temperature, but how does that affect out bodies? 👤
I mainly got this idea from my dad, he is always mad at me for drinking ice-cold water everyday 🧊(not a fan of soda). He says it's unhealthy, as it stiffens my stomach, slowing down my digestive system and makes me more prone to getting sick. 🤢

However, I feel that my results are drastically different due to several key preferences:
1. I don't like ice in my drinks (hurts my teeth and waters down the flavor over time)
2. I generally prefer fruity and citrus flavors over coke related flavors
3. I can enjoy a very strong sugar flavor in drinks so long as they are also very sour
4. I never experimented with the mix order as I was often drinking through straws (in college) or letting the drinks mix before consuming
Some of the major realizations I had were as follows:
1. Light and dark rarely mix well (as shown by the sprite + coke in the video)
2. less citrusy fruit flavors (cherry, strawberry, grape, blueberry, blackberry, etc.) work well to bridge the gap and can work well both with dark sodas as well as light ones. (sadly despite my love of cheerwine, its inclusion would often water down the resulting mixture, instead of adding its unique cherry flavor)
3. honestly, my favorite combinations include mixing real fruit juices with sodas, but as this video is about exclusively what is on tap i will refrain from delving into that particular tangent
With all of that being said, here are 3 of the concoctions I have come to enjoy over the years (note %'s would vary depending on daily preference)
1. 45% Cherry Coke + 45% Root Beer + 10% Dr. Pepper - my go to dark drink in college for when I felt so inclined. interestingly the coke and root beer alone would foam excessively developing quite a "head" (this was detrimental to rapidly filling up the cup) but adding just the 10% of dr. pepper would reduce the foam considerably.
2. 30% Mtn Dew Baha Blast + 20% Mtn Dew + 10% Sierra Mist + 20% Tropicana Fruit Punch + 10% Lemonade + 10% Mango Brisk Iced Tea - Taco Bell staple both acidic and fruity
3. 30% Cherry Limeade + 20% Raspberry Fanta + 20% Grape Powerade + 20% Mello Yellow (classic) + 10% Orange Sprite - for Coke freestyle machines, many different variations, absolutely prefer the fruit basket approach, the trick is not letting any one fruit flavor become too dominate (like orange)
But a couple of things:
Then tweak it based on taste to add more of which soda you feel will give it that right amount of yum.😋
6. I can't believe I have not made one of these in like 20 years yet I remember my method to a science!😂
7. But hey... That's just a theory...
21:46 I can see why Matt said "Oh no!"
Soda + MatPat = unbeatable
Sprite + matpat is infinate tastiness
Diet coke + MatPat = Addiction

No one cares@@UTTPBURGER
My favorite mix is root beer and vanilia ice cream. I call it: A Root Beer Float.
@21:30, got to call you out here Matt!!! Most recipes would have it written as 1/8 cup + 1/16 cup of whatever_ingredient and expect you to realize that it is the same as 3/16 cup or 1.5 fl oz or 3 Tbsp or 9 tsp.
Oh
Like most netizens can do maths anymore…
As someone from the motherland of Spezi, those coke mixes need more orange juice.
2:46 Diet coke + sprite + lipton (iced tea)
My mix is 2 parts dr pepper, 1 part orange soda, 1 part mello yello
It’s been YEARS since I’ve had an “unaliving yourself” drink!! I’d enjoy these at Skate City growing up. Awesome episode Mat Pat!! Appreciate the nostalgia😁
I tried the merhods used in this and have found my new favorite mix. One part cherry coke, one part diet coke, two parts blue powerade. I work at a gas syation and i tried this with an actual fountain. Yes it does in fact make it better. Ice is a nice addition as well. Hope you try this sometime mat😊
