- Welcome to London Heathrow! This video documents my 20th year plane spotting at London Heathrow. Heathrow is one of the busiest International Airport in the world with 80 million passengers passing through every year. There are endless stream of planes arriving and departing with 1,400 flights and 220,000 passengers per day. Indeed, the World comes to London Heathrow.
In the video, I received a rare visit to London Heathrow Air Traffic Control Tower. I am also showing you various good spotting location around Heathrow. Renaissance London Heathrow and Premier Inn T4 Heathrow is also featured in this video.

Thank you Sam for sharing this. I grew up in the Heathrow Area and went to school there. The planes flew over my school so everyday at break time we were plane spotting.

kiran kaur I lived in Harmondsworth Village next to the T4 Runway. I think the village will be demolished to pave way for the 3rd Runway. I left the village in 1997 when I was 9 years old.

Hey Sam, I almost never comment on TH-cam videos but this one moved me to do so. I loved it! I'm from London originally and have happy memories of afternoons spent as a young boy marvelling at the awesome beasts flying overhead, filled with tourists, business people and crew from all around the world. When I was older, I discovered the wonderful Myrtle Avenue and couldn't believe what an incredible and intense spot it was for spotting. Seeing your infectious enthusiasm and willingness to share tips has brought back those memories. These days, i'm closer to Manchester Airport (EGCC) and we benefit from the dedicated Runway Viewing Park as well as other easily accessible pathways that offer viewing opportunities. None though are quite as good as Myrtle and, of course, the traffic scale & diversity is different. It's still a fun afternoon out.

I sat in business class once in upper deck when I was like 5 or 6 years in the mid 90’s on a 747
Usted to work at LHR and rode my bike every day to work. Couldn't help stopping when landings were on 27L and taking some great shots. Nothing like seeing the 747s and A380s. Great view from Premier Inn T4. This video brought so many good memories. Thanks you.

I will always remember July 8th, 2018. I had two of my best ever flights that day. From Berlin to London we flew right over the city. And my connection to Phoenix happened to be on a 747. My dream to fly on the queen of the skies came true that day. Wonderful airport and many beautiful aircraft there. I want to go back and re-live that day.

Best plane watching. Los Angeles @ in and out burger on Sepulveda blvd before century blvd. Having lunch outside with a plane 200 feet overhead landing every 5 minutes

🇬🇧✈️Heathrow is the best!! I’ve been to London for 3 times already but I never got the chance to spot at Myrtle Avenue as I was traveling with my family. The only time I got to spot the planes was on the day I leave Heathrow. I have to say that T2 (The Queens Terminal) is the best terminal to do a plane spotting since there’s a lot of windows to spot the planes. Anyways, excellent video as always Sam! Hope I could meet up with you one day😊😊😊

Heyo Sam, as a frequent flyer and as an inhabitant of Surrey, I see planes landing and take off from Gatwick and Heathrow . I love the Virgin Atlantic aircraft and you should have filmed more of them. You should book the new upper class in the new 350-1000. They fly to JFK from the end of September/start of October. Love your videos

Oh, I loved that! The magic of EGLL.. my home airport. 20 years ago I would sunbathe in my garden in NW London and watch planes fly over inbound or outbound and wonder. There’s a certain magic about going to this airport and leaving on an adventure. I can never get bored of watching aircraft. Thanks for a great vlog Sam.

It's interesting to see you at my favourite spotting point - Myrtle Avenue. I have also stayed a few times at the Premier Inn T4. It's an amazing spotting hotel for the price. If you're back spotting at Heathrow at any point, do let me know. I'd love to buy you lunch.
Can you please advise which rooms are best for spotting. I plan to visit this hotel in Sept.
@@gpopchev 504-508 (not including 506) and the same in the sixes are the best. You can request when booking. Some of these rooms have the best spotting views of any airport hotel I've ever stayed in.

Hi Sam, I have been following your channel for a while and only learnt that you like Heathrow so much! I am a helicopter pilot(PPL) in London and I fly very often, let me know if you are interested to do a Heathrow crossing @ 800 ft in a R66 helicopter, I think this is what you might be interested and as a fan I am happy to share this experience with you when you next in London!!

In my books nothing beats the Landor BA 747
When I first started spotting, Landor BA livery were common, also United battleship and Canadian airline adopted similar striking and dominating livery.
