Menzerna Power Lock has been an outstanding product for years. Slick finish, UV protection, wax-like final finish, doesn't stain trim, easily applies by hand or machine, and has no cleaners so can be layered over itself for complete coverage. Also is a nice base layer for the Menzerna carnauba. Good video, brother...keep it up.
Again; Thank You for all your time uploading so many great informational videos before you open up your own Scott's Auto Detailing Schools. I hope people know just how much time it takes for you to help us all. If you ever make a DVD set on auto detailing please let me know. I'm a beginner at 60 years old, but I think after your videos I can do this. Thank You so much! (I just love the fact you use Harbor Freight's DA in many of your demos so you don't need a $450.00 DA)
I detail cars and in my opinion Wolfgang Sealant 3.0 topped with Collinite 976 is the best combo for shine and durability. Wolfgang 3.0 has Menzerna in it, easy on, easy off!
The best one is the one that gives the results YOU want with the effort you want to put it in to it. There is no right answer. I get unbelievable results with CG's stuff, other say CG stuff is crap. Learn how to use the products correctly is one of the keys. So many people are chasing the shine they never learn a particular products value. That's what I've learned.
Another good video Scott, thanks BTW, you made an excellent point about the relatively low melting point of carnauba wax, something particularly relevant to my part of the world, where the weather is either roasting sun or tropical storm most of the time and little in between. Carnauba waxes would quickly melt off after a rainstorm that happens just after a car gets baked in the tropical sun. The simple conclusion, for where I am, anything less durable than a fully synthetic sealant is practically pointless.
One other thing I would add is that menzerna is a pain in the ass to get out of the pads and even the foam pads and even the micro fiber cloths. I would recommend dedicating those pads only to menzerna.
SCOTT YOU MENTIONED USING THE BLACK PAD FOR JEWELING POLISH WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER A JEWELING POLISH SCOTT YOUR VIDEOS AND PRODUCTS ARE VERY USEFUL AND TOP OF THE LINE THANK-YOU
Same story with the Angelwax Ti-22 Titan based seal protection spray wax i just used today. They say you have to throw the microfiber towels after. Which is why i opted to use the cheapest towels availible (theyr still good enough). But thow them, really? Thats stupidity! Keep using them for something less sensitive. Like for example, when uv degreased your rims, and thinks it may not be a bad idea to slap some seal protection on them as well (yes Ti-22 can be used for rims, heck even rubber & plastic surfaces.. :)
Happy Fourth of July weekend ! here in South Carolina where I live now they sell fireworks on every corner so I know what you mean by not getting much sleep this time of the year . I'm originally from upstate New York . thanks again for another great video !
I use Jescar with Colonite 845 as a topper. I have to wait ONE WEEK before applying BeadMaker. I did have a problem with streaking in the beginning. However, instead of applying the first coat of BeadMaker as instructed, I LIGHTLY sprayed BeadMaker on a microfiber and applied. The results were good. Two days later, I applied the second BeadMaker coat. Results looked great; it appeared as though the car’s finish looked “mirror-like”. Not bad for a graphite gray 2013 Subaru Outback with 230,000 miles. One thing I should point out: I HATED BeadMaker in the beginning! After applying it in a way that works for me, I’m quite happy with it.
Scott, what wax might you use to top the Power Lock was far as a wax, if someone wanted to use one for depth? Also, if using a glaze before sealant, should it be wiped down with paint prep, too? Thanks in advance.
Scott, after a wash and denomination cleaning and a polish correction to the paint then homemade iso/water. I use a 3 step sealant wax process. Carpro hyrdo2 first then Carpro reload simple and very durable, with a topcoat of Colinte845 for my ultimate package deal .
Why do you use Hydro2 and Reload? Seems counter intuitive. Hydro2 is basically a Reload but does last as long as reload its just easier to apply especially for tough areas to reach
Hey Scott, in a lot of your tutorial videos you talk about being quick, accurate and profitable in your business and you encourage us to do the same. So my question is when you do polishing do you take the time to tape up the moldings and emblems or do you stay a reasonable distance from them to avoid polish get stuck in the cracks. Thanks, I value your opinion.
Its important to remove any waxes or other finishes before putting a ceramic coating on or a sealant like menzerna. So I personally use a wax and grease remover if I want all waxes removed.
Let me say this, if any of you live where road salt is don’t bother doing any sort of coating. I’ve done years of testing after the first salt everything is stripped. I’m completely done with any coatings, I use bead maker as a drying aid that’s it. If I lived in the south I’d have a coating.
using menzerna and 845 isn't a good option, I will explain why in detail in a future video.yes many recommend it but they aren't pro detailers and don't truly understand why using those two products together is a waste of time and aren't able to bond

Hi Scott I am waiting for this product to come in, in your opinion would you recommend using TurtleWax hybrid ceramic as a topper. I watched your video on it and used it on meguiers super polish.
Hi scott, there is another protect called "Menzerna sealing wax protection" . Can you pls let us know , what exactly it is and how it differ from power lock and color lock?
Scott, just a question, if your not waiting the full time for the sealer to bond, will applying the spray wax have any affect on the sealant? BTW, great videos, love 'em.
Yes you can apply it by hand. - not difficult at all - make sure your applicator is CLEAN and keep it dedicated for Powerlock because you can't wash the product out of the applicator.
Scott, you killing Matt Moreman's combo, but you're right, tested his combo and the following day the car sweated, I realized that the Menzerna PL and Collinite 845 did not like each other. Good video. But after application, after few days how can I remove paint sealant? Is it required to remove the paint sealant before each wax application?
yes over spray control is important with meguiars fast finish because they don't recommend it on glass..spray small amount on microfiber and apply then flip to dry side of towel and remove any high spots...its a super product and very easy to apply..thanks John..much love my brother:)
oh I'm sorry...i thought you meant meguiars..lol..i just spray the wax to the panel because griots spray on wax will not stain trim and any over spray will wipe down quicky, even on glass..but if you want to spray on towel first,i think that would be fine as well

always tape up plastics... the moment you accidentally hit them, you'll very quickly realise why you should have taped it.
@Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing how do you re-apply the power lock after the few months its been used?

Its important to remove any waxes or other finishes before putting a ceramic coating on or a sealant like menzerna. So I personally use a wax and grease remover if I want all waxes removed.

Hello master, would like to ask, can i top it with polymer sealants as: polymer netshield (sonax)? or something?
Great tip on the black pad! In your opinion, what's the easiest paint sealant to remove while in direct sunlight?
Opti Seal, but it isn't as hydrophobic as this.
This sealant is very good and wipes off easily in direct sunlight too (Powerlock).
Thanks!
Do you guys clean the pad after each 2x2 section is done, or does it not matter to do the whole car at once and just reapply the product? Thanks

Is PL a good sealant to finish after M205? Thnx
Scott, where did you buy the DupliColor Wax and Grease Remover.
I bought a quart of a body-shop wax and grease remover for $17.
John Perez you can buy the Rust-Oleum wax and grease remover for about $7 on Amazon
What's your suggestions for a high end wax that works well with Manzerna PL?
After 3 hours, add any wax. I like Optimum Spray Wax as it's easy to apply.
Kind of a dilemma. I’m about to recondition the car, compound and polish. Do you think I should skip the polish if applying this jescar? Or can you polish first and then seal it? Thanks.
Compound then polish is a must, polish will remove swirls from the compounding.
I have a random newbie question. Can I apply Griots boss correcting, hd speed and menzerna last?
Skip the hd speed.
Would I be able to use the Menzerna Color Lock on top of the Menzerna Power Lock instead of the spray on wax?
so you can use this on headlights glass? plastic
I just love that thick NYC accent !!
Can the Menserna be used on the plastic trim ? or do you have to carefully avoid the trim?
Len Smallwood doesn’t hurt it too much but I would still try to avoid it

Yes it can be topped. (Collonite 845 is my choice). Its up to you, if you want a more wet glow top it. but its not necessary
