Communa 13 is still a very cool place where you can take a beer and enjoy some of the DJs playing there. Especially if a person has never been in a real hood this is the safest way of doing that.

The truth is there isn’t 10 places to visit in Medellin. I think Medellin is great for a trip for a week or 2 but if you have lived here for awhile it gets boring
Depends on what youre looking for. If youre into dancing it's dope
If I think really hard I can probably come with ten or so, but after 2-1/2 years here I've done them all - and for the most part they don't have great repeat value.
The best things to do in medellin are outside the city lol. Like guatape and el penol. Inside the city? Comunna 13? Pablo escoba tours? Boring and dirty city centre? Sleazy lleras park? Yeah nah medellin is over rated my hommies, you know what im saying dawg?
no place is perfect for everyone. interesting you watch videos of a place you have no interest in /dislike just to put in negative comments.

You have forgotten Envigado and Itagüí, if you keep a low profile it is going to be a very chilled experience. As someone who lives in Medellín, I rather go to these zones because it is more relaxed and you'll always meet new places.

@@WheresWes yup. I’m fluent in Spanish so after it happened one of the local kids started breaking down to me what was going on in the area at the time. This was 2019, they had just arrested one of the local combo leaders and there was a battle going on to see who would control the area. Big money to make from “vacunas” in comuna 13. Told me at the time the tour guides por the combo $1 per tourist they brought to comuna 13
I went to Colombia the first time in 1997. Cali. Mistake! A first time visitor needs to go to BOGOTA. I made 2 trips to Medellín. Overated. You can go to Pueblito Paisa and Parque Arvi but what else? Guatepe is close by but what else? Just my opinion.😊
