This is literally the best advanced guide that's ever been made for anything OSRS related. The quality of the research is incredible and the presentation is extremely clear and thorough.
this was in my recommended randomly and i've done so many solo chambers on my iron so i was skeptical about watching and wasting my time, BOY WAS I WRONG this guide is insane and goes into so much detail about every room i love it, keep it up man!
I'm only halfway through but this is great stuff so far! The community has a sore lack of videos/guides that cover higher-level topics (specific mechanics, optimizations, almost anything that goes beyond the basics), so I am always excited to see a new video from you in my feed. Thanks for all the well-thought-out content!
seeing someone finally make a guide and including 4c2p as efficient makes me very happy. I would enjoy doing this content so much more if we were just able to remove ice demon as a scoutable room. its so unbelievable bad its a joke.
Very cool vid mr pecanbread! Just to illustrate how bad ice demon is, would you have a way to show points per hour without fire surge when capping points by chopping piles, vs getting through as fast as possible with minimum chops? I tried the calculator but was too small brained to figure out how many ticks the chopping would take 😅
@@connorblake359 the ice demon tab in the linked spreadsheet has the calcs. Off the top of my head it's something like this, assuming tbowing ice demon. Chopping 25/25/10 and dumping comes out at around 83k pph. Chopping 25/25/25 and dumping actually brings you up to around 99k pph. I don't have figures for capping but I believe it brings you up to around 115k pph. The calc is quite complex though as it involves opportunity cost - while it is better pph capping ice demon than not capping ice demon, it also makes the room significantly longer, which means you're missing out on the points you'd get from doing the rest of the raid instead. Similar to how skipping rope makes rope higher points per hour, but it's not worth doing because it shortens the amount of time you're gaining those points for - you'd rather be killing the tightrope mobs than doing the rest of the raid for points. It's the opposite effect here, so in terms of efficiency: Not doing ice > capping ice > normal ice
@ great and fantastic reply, thanks for this! Appreciate it as I was getting “not so bad” figures while calcing it but thought maybe I was missing something. Appreciate again your help and also lending to a bit more understanding, I’m sure you’ll be able to use it next time ice comes up 😂
Two questions - 1) For rope, is it be better to kill MRRM instead of MMRR and cross when last mager is on like 50% hp, so you can hit after cross and hit while running to door? Or just killing MRRM since leaving the mager alive accidentally while crossing is less of an HP penalty than leaving ranger alive. 2) Is your 39 grub thieve method better on average than pathing to hit high probability bat chests? bats are 300 points iirc so that'd give you a target of like 15 ticks to be able to find and eat them before it becomes inefficient
@@shamooguy that's a good point on MRRM, I'd say that is worth yeah, and you can even get off the mager at around 60hp and that'd be better for pph. For the bats thats actually exactly how I justify not doing it in my head, you'd need to get it within 15t, but on average with pathing time, and the probability of getting poisoned chests I just thought that it's usually never worth it - unless there are very few poison chests left and it happens to be very close by
Is the vespula method worth doing on bowfa? I haven't tested it in a while but I thought bowfa was so low dps on vespula portal that if you werent hitting portal right from entering you wouldnt have enough dps to finish the room before she spawns minions?
@@k45k-s5j bowfa is pretty good dps on vesp portal, and they updated the grubs to have a bit more hp recently so that the room isn't as bad! It would be worth doing for points, provided it doesn't heal - you could get portal low first and then damage vesp until you get close to grubs hatching and then kill portal to try it out.
@@pecanbread11 I was thinking of my experience with cms vespula, It worked very well! Almost 2500 points for the entire room! Also(I think it worked this way when i tested it twice) with bowfa if you dont have anti poison you can shoot vesp one more time after portal dies to hit it below 56% get the free points and not risk getting poisoned. Very cool!
Thanks! That's the 'Cox scouter external' plugin - you need to manually configure it though. I have the following written into the 'recommended items' section of it: [guardians, dragon pickaxe],[muttadiles, zamorak godsword,lightbearer],[shamans,antidote++(1)],[tekton],[thieving,lockpick],[vasa,blowpipe],[vespula],[ice demon],[tightrope,]
Very nice guide Sir. Some Muttadile rooms give the possibility to fully safespot the mother after munching the tree, is this worth doing for point milking or is it inefficient?
@@erik1337cubeman yes that's right, the right turning layout is the only one with a 'true' safespot where big mutta can't come round a corner and reach you. Because of the way cox points work, this isn't worth I'm afraid, there's a set number of points available for each npc, and having it heal doesn't change the amount of points available for damaging it. Note it does ever so slightly increase your points due to how points are awarded for damage, but this effect is miniscule and not worth the time loss!
Taking a look at your spreadsheet and it appears this is mostly geared towards solo cox. I do have a mega scaling team, but we often run smaller scales under 7 man with less experienced members of the clan. If I wanted to find efficient layouts for these group raids would I just average out the max hits and accuracy to get approximate points per hour figures? Or would it not work for groups?
@@EnlightenedOne90 it is mostly geared towards solo cox I'm afraid yeah - it wouldn't be ideal for groups due to threshold calcs like the number of tekton anvils etc, but it should be reasonably correct - the main areas it will differ are tekton and olm as you can get them much lower defence.
I did calc this, and it would be worth for some very limited builds with low dps and high woodcutting, but the overall points per hour just aren't good enough to warrant doing it in even medium gear. Still, it's a very chill way of getting more points!
@@lemonizedapple9574 things like killing rope, hitting vesp, overthieving etc I'd say yes, they all definitely improve the points per hour in cms too - though I know people often want to get cms done as quickly as possible!
Took me ages to get a clip of leaving the ranger low to show that the thrall would get stalled rather than finishing it off! And then I messed it up anyway 😆
It's actually not the worst points per hour in the world doing that, but it does lower the average, even in medium gear setups. It is nice and chill though for the points you get so I don't blame you!
