    I'm so glad to see this. I have a pet bobtail lizard (born and raised in captivity) they have great personalities and are fascinating creatures. Mine is called Connorey (Connor for short) because hes the hot shingle in the area. He loves his tank and blueberries.

      its a good thing, this is full of bs.
      shingleback is their name, bobtail/sleepy are nicknames.
      shinglebacks are bluetongues, they're so close they can interbreed.
      there are 4 types of shinglebacks.
      the world record for a shingleback's lifespan is 50 years, their default lifespan is 20-30 years in both the wild and as a pet.
      do not feed them mice, it damages their liver and kidneys.
      they can have 1-4 babies at a time.

    Hi Guys, loved the video, learnt so much more about bobtails. I’d love to see one being chased off in the fight for females, how fast can they run?

      Thanks Emily
      They cant run that fast, they have only got small legs, but in saying that they move quicker than most people think. Put it this way you can out walk a running bobtail. Hope that answerd your question
      Hope to see you at the park again soon

    Awesome thank you! Is there a lizard in history with a head like the tail thats long and skinny rather than bobtailed?

    Hi i was just wondering how you tell a boy from a girl?

    • @madelainekurtcobain6957
      @madelainekurtcobain6957 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my experience (everyone I’ve spoken to and what I’ve researched) the only way to tell the difference is to x ray individuals - the x ray will show their internal ‘bits’. But reptile specialist vets might have recently found a new probing technique 🤷‍♀️

    • @burghbloke
      @burghbloke ปีที่แล้ว

      would a shingleback consider that as alien probing? I use a cork with a copper wire wrapped around it and a string attached. Hold by string above lizard, fertile egg, woman's prego belly, etc. if cork swings from head to tail it's a Boy. And if it goes in a circle it's a Girl. Unless female is carrying male offspring!

      @@madelainekurtcobain6957 do not probe lizards, their insides are different to snakes.
