- This strip quilt pattern was chosen by my community. I posted 4 or 5 Villa Rosa patterns and asked that my friends choose which one I should make. This pattern called Neptune was chosen. I love jelly roll strips and this pattern uses 40 of them. I picked a strip set by Michael Miller called Refractions which is colorful and hombre. So join me and let's free our strip sets and jelly rolls and make a quilt.

Hi Jenny, you are not alone. I also find relief from depression in watching April and other upbeat quilting videos and "losing" myself in making quilts for others.
I too get very depressed in the winter time especially.
I live in Maine we get such cold temperature's in the winter, & lot's of snow.🦞🏕️🌄🐳⛵🐟🦌🐻🦨🦔🐿️🦫🦉🦅🦆🦝🦊🐰🦃🦀🫐🍓
I dream of summer time, the spring flowers, 🌹 🏵️ 🌻 🌼 🌺 🌷 🌸 💮 ☔ ☀️ 💜 💙 & I try to focus on the positive, for the most part, as much as I can.
I pray everyday, and sew as often as possible. I think April is a hoot. She is so funny, & real.
Hi Jenny, Shirley and Jenny (2!), I suffer from serious health issues and the depression that accompanies the despair of knowing I will not get better. Unlike your cold weather Jenny (2) I live in a tropical country and the relentless heat and humidity most of the year adds to my misery. If it wasn’t for April and like-minded people who share their passion for quilting with laughter and empathy, my days would be a lot bleaker too. I wish you all nothing but the best and hope that, one day, we will overcome depression and learn to smile again.

Lovely job. I am thinking to make this and use just one strip of fabric for the middle section so 8 rows of 8 different fabrics. I think I would appreciate the fabric more like this for the middle section. Tks for another great video, happy spring.

I honestly thought that your first vertical example was not cut from the same strip set until you pointed out that the ombré fabric gives the illusion that the vertical strip sets are different! Very interesting! I have this pattern! I think I can handle it now! Thanks, April! Great job!

Good choice of fabric for this pattern. It looks fabulous! The Ombre colors really make the quilt interesting. I also had a mistake in cutting my last quilt, and had to sew pieces together to make it fit. Still came out ok, and I dont think most people would even notice the extra seams. It is good that you show the mistakes and how to fix them. Really appreciate it.
