Definitely! I liked her in the film "Conner's War" with Treach from Naughty By Nature and "Half Past Dead." Also the straight to video Romantic Comedy "I Don't Buy Kisses Anymore" with Jason Alexander.
I was watching it on recorded videos from mainland in the Philippines in 1988 with the late Irene Cara on the show I kept watching it over and over Rest in peace Irene (sad to learn of the injustice she went through)

"FAME" the movie changed my life....And your show changed my life..... Happy 40th Anniversary to an amazing cast. Kudos !
Fame is the kind of shows that only shows up once in each generation, if even that. Just like Twin Peaks, even if they can't be compared (and I'm not adding season three).
Agreed, though as to your last point I am not sure which series you are referring to, Fame or Twin Peaks. It’s interesting both series in their original forms only lasted for 2 seasons. Season 3 is when Fame left NBC and went into syndication (and the quality went down in my opinion and I became less interested, though it still had its moments here and there). Twin Peaks was canceled before they got to a season 3 in the original run, as you know. Then the prequel film and a couple decades later we got season 3 on Showtime, much of which I liked, some of which I loved, and some of which I thought were missed opportunities with plot and character.
Its weird how in 2024, this show isnt a better known classic or rerun anywhere. I can only guess its because of the music rights. I feel kids today would love it.

Wow, I have both the original movie and series on DVD. I met the cast back in the 80's when they performed at Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. Wow getting old is no fun and many cast members haven't aged well. What makes Valerie aka Doris looks old, she doesn't dye her hair like most woman. I am sure if Debbie Allen wore her original gray hair, she would look much older.😀 😃 😄 😁 😆 😅 😂 🤣 RIP, Gene Anthony Ray. Danny in the series was a favorite character of mine.
