Que extraordinaria composición, que exquisita dirección, que extraordinaria ejecución, lágrimas de emoción al finalizar, cuanto hay que agradecer al catolicismo en estas artes (por cierto soy ateo). Añadir que Haendel era alemán no inglés y sus composiciones reflejan su espíritu germano por todos los poros. Maravilloso Heinz Ferlesch. Encuadrado en el espíritu sin batuta del genial ya desaparecido Nikolaus Harnoncourt Lo actual es pura basura.

The most phenomenal soprano I've heard in a while - wonderful. what a stunning orchestra, choir and soloists - love the energy of conductor - so tune with the whole spiel -his eyes are captivated with the music and experience.

A wonderful performance and a fantastic soprano.
Alexander's feast is one of my favorite works by Handel. The final chorus is a quadruple fugue (4 different themes contrapuntally intertwined)
An exhilirating performance of another Handel masterpiece but not performed that often. This performance captures all the vitality of baroque at its brilliant best, conducted with incredible panache. The small orchestra produces an extraordinarily rich sound but true to HIP at its best; the chorus is amazing and all the soloists are superb, especially Cornelia Horak. A treasure!

En dépit de sa diversité stylistique, Haendel était avant tout un compositeur d'esthétique expressionniste, toujours proche du drame, de la profondeur, de l'angoisse et la vision profonde et tourmentée de la vie qui semble émaner de la métaphysique de l'homme comme de sa même nature profonde..

My congratulations to everyone involved with this incredible performance.
This oratorio is famous mainly for"extra" reasons. Traditionally in England oratorios were "broken" by some sort of "serious divertimentos". Most of Haendel's organ concertos were written for his own use under such circumstances. For this oratorio, he wrote a rather simple in terms of writing complexity, but ample powerful Concerto Grosso in C, which is known as "Alexander Feast".
Wat een heerlijke uitvoering met mooi gekozen stemmen van de solisten. In een woord indrukwekkend is vooral de soliste. Grootse stem beheersing en fijne expressie. Complimenten voor het totaal! Jammer dat namen van solisten en dirigent ontbreken!!!

Alexander's Feast was in the movie "Children of Men" along with scores of pop culture composers including Lennon-McCartney, Jagger-Richards, Donovan, King Crimson... Brilliance.
Excelente interpretación de esta hermosa y delicada pieza no muy conocida de Haendel. Buen registro sonoro y buenas tomas de vídeo con la ejecución de los diversos grupos instrumentales y vocales. Una delicia para ver y escuchar

Fantástica interpretación, tanto musicalmente hablando como a nivel de imagen y sonido.
Ergänzend zu meinem Kommentar: Besonderer Hingucker ab 56:08. Da sage einer, Händels und Bachs Musik passten nicht zueinander. Klingt erstaunlich richtig, wenn der eine der beiden Trompeter beim Alexanderfest aus einer Bach-Partitur spielt ;-)
Kleinigkeit. Ich bin immer noch von dieser Inszenierung völlig begeistertt. Unglaublich intensiv und auch subtil ist die Art, wie Ferlesch hier dirigiert. Seine Begeisterung und Leidenschaft springt auf alle Aufführenden über. Und die Solisten sind alle mit außergewöhnlich schönen Stimmen gesegnet. Danke für diese Aufführung !!!!

Fantastico, The Alexander feast è sempre stato uno dei miei CD preferiti. Vederla suonare e cantare è veramente un sommo piacere. Bravi, una interpretazione magnifica. Bellissima la voce del basso Matthias Helm.
Una nota negativa: manca l'interludio e alcune arie del 2' atto.

Curiosa y a la vez espectacular versión de esta maravillosa obra definida como "Mascarada" mas que Oratorio. Curiosa porque a pesar de tratarse de una obra profana se interpretó en una parroquia y por el otro hecho que en sus solistas no aparece la voz de mezzosoprano delegando todo a la gran soprano aquí presente.
Como sea, solistas, coro y orquesta extraordinarios y una sensible y exquisita interpretación del director. Una vez mas los alemanes que no olvidan que su gran compositor nació en Halle y después mudó a Inglaterra.
Se echa de menos el Concerto Grosso "Alexander's Feast"
@@canaleteatrale6662 Perdón, pero la versión de John Eliot Gardiner sí incluye una mezzo (Carolyn Watkinson) que es una de las más bellas y autorizadas. Y las mejores versiones de los oratorios, mascaradas, chandos anthems son las inglesas. Es el estilo empapado de un compositor que vivió la mayor parte de su vida en aquella nación.
Lo que tampoco quita que hay alemanes, austriacos (Harnoncourt) y franceses (Herrweghe) que lo han hecho muy bien.
Y olvidaba:
El gran francés William Cristie y Les art florissance y sus estupendas versiones de operas, oratorios y mascaradas
Insuperável Haendel! Peça pouco conhecida, mas maravilhosa!
