    Finally a video on TYM Tractors. I was thinking I was the only one that has one. I had a 394 for 2 years. Awesome tractor. I upgraded back in October to a 494 with a cab. I love it.

    Your right Tony, that is impressive for this size tractor. I can almost guarantee my 25 hp John Deere wouldn't and I'm a J.D. fan. Thanks buddy

    Nice video. I have that same wood chipper on my 25hp Kioti CK 2610. I keep a bunch of sheer bolts in the tool box when I chip. I had used 2 or 3 last fall when I chipped. You quickly learn what it can and can't do. it's worth every penny I spent on it. I love mine and it chips like a boss. Those TYM tractors are really good looking tractors too

      I am thinking about putting a slip clutch on mine. What are your thoughts?

    • @ladwiss
      @ladwiss 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TonysTractorAdventure I could see that to be a positive upgrade. I bought lock nuts for the sheer bolts but that still doesn't keep the bolts from loosening up. I found myself watching for extra vibrating almost too much at times instead of just feeding. I have had to stop and retighten the bolt a few times or it would sheer prematurely . It is not bothersome enough for me to consider a change over though. That's my input from here in MT. Just keep feed them up to 3'' and dry

    Impressed with quietness and smooth operating characteristics of the Kukje engine. As evidenced by the ease of operation while running the wood chipper, the Kukje seems to perform better than the advertised 25 hp.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really does act more like a 30 hp tractor at the PTO. The Kukje engine has lugging power. I am very impressed. Next week's video shows a five foot tiller in virgin ground.

      Most sub-compact and compact tractors have a lot more power than advertised it seems, doesn't matter what color you buy, they all seem pretty under rated when it comes to power...you run out of traction before you run out of power.

    Very interesting demonstration. Now we couldn't hear the auto throttle working except with the engagement of the PTO but when the PTO loaded up did the throttle increase?
    Thanks for all the hard work to you put into this video. Loved the demo!

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The PTO is not self adjusting. The auto throttle will be great for loader work.

      @@TonysTractorAdventure Thanks for the videos on the TYM 264 it settled any worries I had with purchasing this specific Brand and Model. Sold my 1960 FORD 851 w/loader for $2500 at 8:30 am this morning. I then headed out 45 mins away, bought a new TYM T264 Hydro with the $2500 down. Should be at my house by next week. I really like where the controls are located for the bucket and throttle. I looked at a McCormick that was comparable before I got to the TYM dealer. The McCormick loader stick was in front of the steering wheel. I can't use that comfortably. I have some nasty carpal tunnel and my hand would be numb within minutes. Not to mention reaching like that would cause strain on the neck eventually.

    Great video, for me, a 4-6" log is firewood anyways no sense in chipping it. I live in the southwest and have mesquite wood brush coming out of my ears. The thicker stuff ends up saved for the BBQ and fireplace

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around here, we have a lot of trees that are not worth burning as firewood. They don't put off heat. I love the smell of misquote burning. Thank you for the kind words.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My thoughts as well. I'd just use a chipper for brush type material. Anything from a couple inches and up is firewood/kindling.

    Hey Tony. I always enjoy your videos and have watched all of them, especially those relating to the TYM T264. I just went to look at one this morning with the idea of taking it home. It looks like a nice little tractor with a lot of bang for the buck now that I am on a smaller property and have sold my 99 HP Deere. The only thing I could not get around (literally) was the tight floor space. I have a size 11 shoe or boot (which is not huge for a man) and found that the brake pedals and the hump on the center of the floor made it very awkward for both getting on and getting off of the tractor. I can't figure out why they mounted the pedals so far back when there was plenty of space to install them several inches forward. It literally keep me from buyer the tractor and was just about the only thing that I did not like. This may sound picky but when you have to get on and off a tractor so many times per day it really matters. Even the little CS Kioti that my neighbor has offers a much better floor design. If you have any pull with the folks at TYM it might be worth mentioning because they truly have a great product here but that floor killed it for me. My dealer said that he hears it all the time. Who knows, maybe I can weld up some bar stock beneath the floor to extend the pedals to a more forward position. Anyway, it's a great tractor and everything you have said and shown in your videos appears to be very accurate. I just wish that the floor had a better layout.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure

      Dan, I will pass this along to my TYM friends. I have heard this from taller guys before. Thank you for giving a well though out point of view. So many people are just mean. Take a look at the TYM T254. The floor is bigger with more foot room. It was in the running when we bought. It not as big as the T264, but it is more than a Subcompact. Tony

    I notice that most of the 'Korean' built tractors have 1 piece radius type loader arms, VS a loader arm that is built with 2 pcs of tubing and welded plate connectors (look at Bobcat tractors). The one piece loader arm effectively pushes the loader bucket more forward compared to 2 piece loader arms. Radius arm geometry is very strong, but it also reduces tractor/loader tip weight capacity. Generally the closer the bucket pins are to the front axle, the greater the tipping weight capacity.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      South Korea is a power house in the small Tractor market. Many companies sell some Korean made tractors in their line up. TYM, Branson, New Holland, Case IH, Bob Cat, Kioti, and Mahindra.

    • @terrylutke
      @terrylutke 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@John-lu2bp I didn't know that about Bobcat tractors. Other than my 'buy American' bias, it doesn't really matter where tractors are made I suppose. My point was that bucket hinge pin/front axle distance plays a role in loader usefulness. I suspect the that the bucket is pushed forward to allow for more simple loader arm construction, and a higher dump spec. Neither are bad, but it's a geometry that increases rear ballast requirements.

      I agree with you on the loader.. I wish there was some company making small tractors in the USA. The JD 1025R is the closest one. The engine and many of it's parts are made overseas even on that one. I don't have a problem with South Korea. They have been a great ally to the USA for years.

      A final comment regarding front axle/bucket pin spread distance.. Inches really do matter because the front axle 100% becomes the fulcrum (teeter point), when max lifting with a loader. An extreme example of this thought process can be seen in skid steers, where the back of the bucket almost skims the tires or tracks. Enough said on the topic:)

      I just put it behind my T474 and added a slip clutch to the chipper. The T264 was a solid performer, but the T474 ripped 4 inch Oak like it was nobody's business. Night and day difference, and I never heard the engine slow. I think I would like one with the hydraulic feeds.

I got the backhoe 7foot bush hog with slip clutch, box blade, land plane! My bush hog is rated at 3.5 inch and has a 90hp gear box and if you can push it down backing up into it it will cut it and not bog at all! Your videos made me pull the trigger on mine! I got the 55hp tym 574 , backhoe,7ft slip clutch bush hog, box blade , land plane, and grapple for 40500 out the door! Cant beat it

I would like to step it up a size for my next tractor tho, prolly gonna end up trading it in for a B-2601 or something similar when the time comes.. but for now because of the work I do I’ll be staying with a sub compact as the type of landscaping jobs I do demand a small/lightweight tractor. Have a safe trip Tony!
