  • We’re hitting the beach this week as we make our way up the coast from the South of Spain to Valencia via Calahonda, Roquetas del Mar, Caboneras, Los Alcazares, Santa Pola, Denia and Cullera.
    Van life in Southern Spain starts off well as we find some gorgeous wild beach park ups, enjoy swimming in the warm sea, visit the pink lake of Torrevieja and eat lots of delicious seafood.
    But things take a turn for the worse when we have to make an unexpected trip to the doctors.
    If you have any questions about this week’s journey, how we do what we do, or anything else, please ask away in the comments.

    I'd be willing to bet, that you enjoyed the riverside park up so much because Ady was feeling SO much better. You were relaxed and it affected your senses.
    So glad that you all are feeling better!

      We hadn’t thought of that but you’re probably spot on. It certainly wasn’t the nicest spot but we just felt so good there so must have all been wrapped up in how we were feeling emotionally ❤️

    Glad to see Ady is doing much better and back to her adorable self. Totally appreciating all the gorgeous views and awesome locations in the coastline of Southern Spain 🇪🇸 I really need to find my way there… just beautiful ❤️🚐

      Yeah Ady’s absolutely fine now, we were so happy it was just a stomach bug. Yes southern Spain is really a great place to travel in a van if you get the chance! ❤️

    Sorry to hear Ady wasn't feeling well, but glad she's better now! Very stressful when they aren't feeling well. Nice to see James is doing some cooking again, as usual looks good! Pink water, 😲 wow

      Thank you, yes Ady is all better, such a relief - you’re so right, it’s definitely stressful when they feel ill. It’s not so enjoyable cooking in this heat but eating out all the time just isn’t sustainable 😅

    You are such a sweet family. You have taken me to some of the most beautiful places on earth. Gramma will be forever grateful. And listen daddy, your journey with Ady is just beginning. Always lay her in the hands of Jesus and calm down. They are so much tougher than you could ever believe. Gramma rushed her first child to the emergency room when at the age of 18 months he slammed his finger in a door and lost his fingernail. He is now 50 and has all his fingers and fingernails..... you guys are so sweet. much much love....gramma

      Ah thank you very much, we really appreciate it. And we’re so pleased you enjoyed it. Yeah kids really are tougher than they look it’s just hard in the moment to remember that, hopefully it will get easier ❤️

      @@TheWholeWorldorNothing It will get easier but by the time it does they are grown. So go ahead and let it be hard in the moment because in that moment they are still in your arms........ gramma

    Aw, daddy was worried- fair enough, that's your job for the rest of her life! &*> You will get better at it though... definitely good to have had that check up and be reassured everything was manageable. You sure did have some lovely water-side stops... but this old aunty was a bit worried about all that heat on your heads. Hats my darlings, hats!!! Huggies to Ady frae the Bonny Land. YAM xx

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes we’re starting to realise we’ll probably never stop worrying about her!! We were glad to do the check up too, we intend to spend lots more time in Spain in the future so just to experience the healthcare process was useful. And of course it put our minds at ease too.
      Ady won’t wear a hat no matter what we do. Sometimes we can sneak one on but short of taping or glueing it to her head we’re out of ideas 😅 If you have any that would be very appreciated though. We mainly just try to stay out of the sun in this kind of heat but we should probably get some more suitable hats too - the ones we have are dark and tend to make our heads warmer!
      Hugs back and hope you’re coping with the heatwave ❤️

    • @yaminthegrey
      @yaminthegrey 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheWholeWorldorNothing Hari OM - until today I would have laughed at suggestion of heatwave - but today over The Hutch it is nearly 24'C with a delightful Clydeside breeze to keep it true... and this expat Sydneysider is luvin it!!!
      Regarding hats; example is often the best leader so if you find some sombreros (or at least decent straw or linen) for yourselves and have a couple of options for Ady to play with herself - you might find it will happen "jus' ;coz"! Take care out there. Yxx

      24 degrees sounds blissful 😅 We’ve got 41 here which is frightening. We’re resorting to spending time in places with air con as there’s no way to keep the van cool enough. Glad you’re faring well though!
      You’re probably very right on the hat thing. Gonna start looking for some suitable head gear for us all, thanks for the ideas ❤️

    Just what I needed after a long day on the van. Seeing you guys travelling is lovely and I'm glad the doting Dad can relax again now Ady is on the mend. With 4 daughters of my own I feel your pain ;)

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What you been up to this time? Can’t have many more upgrades to go surely? Ah having 4 daughters must be as rewarding as it is difficult 😀

    • @AMGMANIAC
      @AMGMANIAC 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Believe it or not I added some solar panels but first had to remove the awning ...... I'm putting up 3 x 280w with a 360w panel sliding out from underneath when parked up. It's a bit of a PITA job but worth it for 1200w of solar. I've got cctv cameras and aerials to move so basically redoing the whole roof lol

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no! What a nightmare!! But as you say, worth it for all that solar - it’s a beast of a system you’ve built. Have you had issues with having less solar?

    • @AMGMANIAC
      @AMGMANIAC 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I originally planned on around 700w but bought the wrong size panel before I'd got the van so just made do with it during the build. Now I can make use of it as an addition so nothing lost. I was given the three 280w panels but it should give me a good yield. Along with a silent Honda generator I should always be able to stay well charged. I've got 240v on 24/7 but it's my desktop that uses all the juice. I'm a pc man and my setup allows me to keep it running all the time, It's the simple things lol

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah that explains it then. Sounds like you’ll be able to sell back to the grid soon 😀 But that’s the beauty of building your own, you tailor it to your exact needs and if you need to change it up you know how everything works and goes together. We’ve not had a notification about the awning video yet, you still planning on putting that vid up?

    Great video as ever. We lived in Santa Pola on the beach for a year in a little house. Your spot by the beach is one of our favourites. On the point of blue toilet stuff, we recently fitted a SOG. It’s a game changer. Can’t remember you loo set up, but if you can have one it would be great. Take care x

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 😊 Ah wow, that must have been incredible! We really loved it down there and would definitely have stayed longer if we could have. Had to look up what a SOG was but it looks amazing. Does it work as advertised? We’ve only got a porta potti so don’t think we’d be able to fit one unfortunately which is a shame!

    • @jonmartin1272
      @jonmartin1272 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheWholeWorldorNothing yes the SOG is amazing, I can hardly believe it. Never put anything in it, never get a whiff in the van, nor outside due to the charcoal filter, only smell is when you take it to empty, but then they all smell then. X

    • @TheWholeWorldorNothing
      @TheWholeWorldorNothing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that sounds amazing! Makes me wish we had a toilet that we could fit one on. Quite amazing that you don’t need any fluid or anything.

    Have u thought about ordering some of these more niche objects ( toilet fluid, fuses even tho I know you found them already am idea for the future) from Amazon and have it delivered to an Amazon locker or Amazon pickup point/ shop close by to where ur staying at the time?

      We hadn’t but someone also suggested that to us on Instagram as well. It’s a great idea and something we’ll definitely bear in mind for the future. Not sure why we didn’t think of it either as we’ve done it plenty of times in the uk! Thanks so much for the idea 😀
