Great video! Can you park up at night anywhere you like or do you have to pay to stay at a designated camping site every night? I'm going to Spain in the next few weeks and need to understand the lay of the land - cheers!
Hi Ben! Thanks so much! They have a rule called ‘Pernoctar’ which basically means you can stay in any car park that has no ‘no autocaravanna’ signs as long as you don’t take out tables, chairs, awnings etc! So it’s a great country to visit in a van! There’s also ‘área de autocaravannas’ in most towns where you can often spend 1-3 nights for free or a small charge and empty black/grey waste and also fill up fresh water! It really is heaven when compared to the UK! Have an amazing time on your trip!
Unfortunately we have already left :( we can’t seem to find a way round it apart from the obvious which is heading down to Morocco for 90 days or another country in the non Schengen zone :)
Hi guys. Just came over your video. I’m coming from Ireland to Spain for van life for 2-3 months on my own. I have not planned anything or stops. Do you think it is recommended. I was just going to drive to south Spain and stop where I seen was nice. Is it hard to find places to stay for a few nights at a time

We’ve had no problem at all in Spain with staying overnight, there’s a few places where it’s not allowed but these are often signposted :) use park4night app and read the reviews for each park up! :)
Nice video guys, definitely a nice part of the world. As this is only the first vid I've seen of yours, why no shower in the van? It's a big ol ball ache to put in but defo worth it for the hot countries. Anyway safe travels, I'll subscribe to see how your getting on. :)
Thanks! The reason we don’t have an indoor shower is due to us wanting the van to be as spacious as possible, making the space really liveable (with 2 of us living in such a small space this is very important!). Finding public showers or space to use our outdoor shower is really easy in Spain - but we really see the benefits of having a shower in the van (especially if we plan to use the van in the UK for longer periods). We have been brainstorming a way to have both- so watch this space 😉👀
@@InOurLittleHouse yes I get that, we fitted a shower as that is what the better half wanted. It does make the bedroom darker with back doors closed but we didn't want windows in the bedroom. Also our shower is huge and we could of done it a bit smaller, but we also did without a toilet as we are going to use a porta potty that lives in the shower and removable for showers. We are nearly finished but will put a vid up when it's done. Happy travels guys. btw the Mrs is portoguese and speaks English, Spanish and French so life should be a bit easier when we eventually get to do that tour.

How long are you guys staying in Spain? My partner and I are currently traveling Spain, have you found a way round the 90 day stay limit ?

Just have a rough idea of what you want to see before you go, but you can always find somewhere to sleep etc on the fly! :)

Don't rely on reviews, instead, there is a travel book in Spain I don't remember it's name nor the author, but it is accurate.
