I'm very confused as to why Steve is loved and why Sonic is hated when it comes to players camping out thier opponents to win certain matchups. No hate, just genuinely curious if anyone could care to explain?
Bruh, not even 15 comments and the Steve hate is real. Kinda funny ngl since Kazuya is just as bad as Steve in most regards and Terry is cool until you realized most of his confirms are maybe 4 inputs, but his GO! move confirms are pretty cool so he's not nearly as bad.
Kazuyas combos require a frame 2 input move and careful watching of DI. How in tf r they both as boring while one just runs away and the other gets in ur face
@@harvesterman5210 Yeah, learning input timings, after a Kazuya learns that one thing they just feel like they're mashing without thought, do you realize how many times I see most Kazuya's use that god-forsaken move in a single match. Never said Steve doesn't mash either, he does and it's fruitful since jab or macro-fair lead to f-air and b-air. Kazuya is just way harder to avoid and some things are almost too good, EWGF into up-smash is one lamest kill-confirms that kill at 80 with most characters.
“Kazuya just as bad” Uh….what? When does Steve have -Technical inputs with strict timing - worst jump in game - terrible recovery - worst disadvantage state in game - crap neutral Talk about being a Steve fanboy without actually saying it lmao
“After a Kazuya learns that one thing” Lmao. You literally don’t know anything about that character. Riddles from this tournament alone used different Kaz routes and they are not all EWGF focused. You do realize you also need to get the timing for this WR motion, platform combos, his sweep setups, etc. If it was remotely as easy as you think then there would be a bunch of Kaz out of pools. Yes Kazuya can kill early. Big whoop. So does the rest of the roster including Steve lol. There is more to a character value then how much damage they can do
@@mrharvy100 Ok ok, so half of those things you mentioned Steve literally has, he has a god awful jump, his neutral is better than Kazuya's but is still pretty bad, and ever heard of a NIL. You say I know nothing about Kazuya, but it sounds like you know nothing of Steve. Riddles is an amazing player and I'm not ever going to discredit his or any other Kazuya main's efforts, nevertheless the character has fundamentally better tools in a lot of situations than most charcters. Like, half of his moves have invulnerability and are far safer than most while he only needs a few proper hits to connect to kill. Riddles pilots Kazuya with a ton of finesse and is one of only two players I've seen that plays him this well. To an extent Steve is similar in many ways, there are only a handful of great Steve players and the average Steve player is a campy son of a bitch that never approaches and has no concept of neutral it feels like. Steve is very technical as well though, his combo's aren't as guaranteed and are way easier to SDI out of, other than the basic Steve ladder, he trades consistent combo's for a slightly better disadvantage and a very nuanced recovery. You also have to realize though that Kazuya is a lot more explosive and while Steve could maybe do 70-80 percent on a combo with diamond. Kazuya has all that from the start, no build up, he has access to almost everything from the start while being heavy, suprisingly agile, can turn around instantly to make things hit when they wouldn't otherwise and can kill earlier than at least 2/3rds the cast consistently. My original point to a completely different person was that Kazuya is really good and and there's no denying that, and that it is hypocritical that people hate on Steve for being "easy" while both characters have lame ways to play them that make this game not fun. I just didn't immediately point out Steve's issues, while noting that it's funny that people mald when a Steve wins and rejoice when he loses in an offline major.
I think riddles played this completely wrong & got inpatient. Let him mine off stage or above, it doesn’t matter since he’ll eventually be forced to craft a weapon & fight up close. Riddles was jumping too close & fighting near the ledges & that’s why he lost. Just camp middle of the stage & then fight.
Probably because Kola's play style is completely countered by Kazuya? Kola's rush down style is alot harder to adjust against a character who can kill you off a single hit

@@ToastedGam Its more unfortunate to other characters that you have to camp Kazuya to win. And unfortunate to us as spectators because we recognize this and still hate camping.

The other character then camps and that snuffs out how the Kazuya player wants to play. And no spectator wants to see camping since it's a playstyle that people generally dislike (me included). liquid riddles fought every steve cant wait to see him fight Acola and kome someday
Bruh this set was FANTASTIC, both players were incredible and made it very entertaining

Love to see ddee out here taking dubs!
I'm very confused as to why Steve is loved and why Sonic is hated when it comes to players camping out thier opponents to win certain matchups. No hate, just genuinely curious if anyone could care to explain?
Nah, Steve is incredibly hated lmao. Both these characters have a ton of hate.
Steve is way more hype ngl tbh fr
Steve is way more hated
@@LoliPeeSlurper being hyper than Sonic isnt anything big... and in this case it doesn't mean anything because Steve is lame as hell anyway.
@@vick7868 🤓
Hungrybox and vikki were fire on commentary 👌
Wow ddee really nailed it to play as disgustingly as possible
“Kazuya just as bad”
Uh….what? When does Steve have
-Technical inputs with strict timing
- worst jump in game
- terrible recovery
- worst disadvantage state in game
- crap neutral
Talk about being a Steve fanboy without actually saying it lmao
“After a Kazuya learns that one thing”
Lmao.
The Chad DDEE waxed the Virgin riddles
💀
What did riddles do to you💀💀
15 years old... first major... Ddee is nuts
15
I think riddles played this completely wrong & got inpatient. Let him mine off stage or above, it doesn’t matter since he’ll eventually be forced to craft a weapon & fight up close.
Riddles was jumping too close & fighting near the ledges & that’s why he lost. Just camp middle of the stage & then fight.
Nigga wtf, letting Steve mine and get diamond is brain dead, Steve doesn’t need to get close to craft he can go into the corner build blocks and craft
HAHA RIDLE FINALLY LOSES IM SAVING THIS TO WATCH LATER PLAYLIST!!!!!😍🎉👏👏👏👏
Oh shit. Ddee finally in a offline major tourney (to my knowledge).
DD pulled a Quidd this tournament (gets seeded 32nd and just decides to play like a top 10 player).
Bro he made riddles switch to Kazuya Holy shit lol
*STEVE IS SUCH A CARRIED CHARACTER WTF*
So are Kazuya and Terry
WHAT IS THIS MATCH!!! I CAN'T STOP SCREAMING!!! xD LMAO
DDee makes me hate steve more
this 9 years boy knows how to play the kazuya match up better than kola lmao
Probably because Kola's play style is completely countered by Kazuya? Kola's rush down style is alot harder to adjust against a character who can kill you off a single hit

Im curious as to why riddles didnt go to smashville or somewhere with bigger or higher playforms?
Cuz its his first time playing a good Steve. He doesnt know the matchup and that Town and City and Smashville are good counterpicks because those stages only offer mostly wood so Steve is underpowered

I love both of these players so much, such great play on both ends. Anyone hating on DDee needs to be quite because this kid is one of the most creative players out there, give him his credit. Just like we give Riddles his credit.

@@XFEINX lol, you sad and mad
Game 4 has to be one of the saddest matches I've seen in a while. Literally soul draining, nevertheless ggs to both DDee and Riddles.
Kazuya can kill you out of one interaction, DDee had to
@@iCollectCans Yeah, I know. It's just unfortunate that the optimal play style against Kazuya is, for the most part, to camp him.
@@ToastedGam Its more unfortunate to other characters that you have to camp Kazuya to win. And unfortunate to us as spectators because we recognize this and still hate camping.
@@gxstly Well yeah, it sucks for everyone involved. Kazuya has a somewhat linear playstyle that can snuff out how the other character wants to play. The other character then camps and that snuffs out how the Kazuya player wants to play. And no spectator wants to see camping since it's a playstyle that people generally dislike (me included). There's no winner in this situation.
its bs that all he needs is one combo to kill you, and that he is a heavy but has tech to make him as fast as a light
the commentary on this video is the best all i hear is “BOOOOOOOOOM”
That’s what riddles get for destroying Kola 💀 karma is real ladies and gentlemen
Being camped by Steve isn’t Karma. Kola’s problem is that he mashes all the time with Roy and with Roys speed and damage output he just swings and hopes it lands. Sorry that Kola just wasn’t good enough to beat Riddles and it took lame play to win. Or the Wifi special I like to call it.

Steve may be the lamest character in smash bros history but a 14 year old getting this far is fucking incredible
Props to the player, but his character is lame and rightfully will get criticized along with Sonic/MinMin
@@mrharvy100 idk to me, this just goes to show smash players aren't used to playing vs camping/lame play and then complain about it when interaction isnt happening.
@@mrharvy100 I guess you have a point my bad 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙄😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😞😞😞😞😞😞😞
@@stephorozco8911 It’s also pretty lame if you play Steve in only 1 way against every matchup. Steve only camps against kazuya, against others he goes for those crazy up air strings like we say with ddee against terry. Kazuya kills wayyyy to early, and every combo kazuya has ends in a smash or some kinda of kill confirm. So it’s more the kazuya pick to blame.
