    Wow those blue tangs are truely huge compared to the ones you see in many saltwater marine aquariums

    The gathering of the cormorants to their departure, joined by the inca terns and the pelicans, search for the hunt of the blue and gold fusiliers. The first to hunt the fish were powder blue surgeonfish, which are joined in by moorish idols, convict tangs, lined surgeonfish, orange-lined triggerfish, orangespine unicornfish, orangeband surgeonfish, princess parrotfish, yellowfin surgeonfish, and achilles tangs.

      I think in a natural environment they behave differently to an enclosed aquarium.

    What is that black Surgeon fish's genus ? I cant distinguish but that looks like a tang too!

      It was on the house reef at Vilamendhoo, South Ari Atol, Maldives.

      Yes. Some sections are dead but if you look closely much of it is thriving. But corals on any reef vary on a cyclical basis. Sometimes they flourish and some years they decline. That’s nature, weather etc. I know this because I’ve visited this reef every year for 18 years. If the reef was dead, there’d be no fish. And there are plenty!
