Its a great trail bike. I can ride trails that I wouldn't consider on a heavier, taller bike. I live in the Rockies literally surrounded by Nat. Forest and this bike has been very user friendly. By the way, 72 years old.
Riding trails I wouldn't consider a larger bike, and is exactly the reason I sold my XR400 and bought a new DRZ125L. I used to avoid interesting trails in Colorado because the XR400 was just too big, heavy, and tall, for the single track, loose rocky climbs in the mountains. The DRZ125 does those treacherous trails easily!! I love it! And I can ride all day and hardly use any gas, another plus! I'm 63 years old.
Suzuki has a real winner with this bike, I have one and it's a truly great trail bike. Standout points for me are: Nice medium size, great suspension, great handling, superb brakes, light weight, extremely smooth shifting gears, and plenty of torque for climbing hills.
Thank you for the review on the DR-Z 125 ! My first dirt bike was a 1978 Suzuki RM 125 and loved it ! Now riding a 2004 RM 250 and looking for something myself and kids can ride on trails and this DRZ 125 sounds like the perfect dirt bike for everyone !
Yeah maybe I would take a Honda or Yamaha 125 over this but that does not mean it sucks. It's a lot better than toa toa, apollo and ssr. Suzuki also makes the fastest commercially produced gas motorcycle. If you don't like Suzuki's then don't get one but also don't just coming saying how much they suck.
Got a 2021 And on my first day of having it it had a lot of trouble cold starting and idling but I think we flooded the carburetor and after that it worked and rode fine.
@@beanis1932 I think all of them have cold start and just starting issues but if you get it started just keep the choke up for like 5 mins go for a lil ride with it on then stop and turn it off
I have a 2001 model, looks and feels the same. Feels great, and super reliable. I Had ZERO issues so far, its been my second year riding it. I ride it twice a day now!
i’ve gotta 2015 version it’s awesome good for smaller people i’m 5,3 5,2 it’s my first bike i highly suggest it its good for people around 5,1 to 5,6 *125L*
Yes but you might need to lean over alot on the one side or just stand next to it and then let the clutch put and then get on cuase I am 14 and I can touch the ground on my tippy toes
i might be a bit late but fuel injected bikes tend to not be too good for cornering, most bikes when carbureted have a thing called a accelerator pump on them which are for when you open the throttle real fast so it doesnt bog. and when your bike is fuel injected (to my knowledge) they dont have them and when your leaning and need to get some power to get the bike upright they tend to not deliver as fast as a bike with a carb. i could be wrong tho with how all the technology is now these days
Definitely the 250 I'm 5,9 and ride a 360 Husqvarna wmx at 135ish pounds. I had a 125 and its definitely not alot of power unless your just starting riding or want to screw around on it
I am 5’9 220 pounds. I bought the 2018 drZ model. My first bike. It rides amazing in the woods and on trails. I love it. U are taller than me. But as far as weight, it can deff handle u. Great first purchase
It's good on both trails and on a track. I ride mine on both all the time. But if you ride it on a MX track, it's much better on the smaller mini-MX tracks or the beginner/veteran MX tracks, because those tracks have smaller jumps and shorter straights, which fits this bike better. But on trails, it will handle ANY type of trail, no matter how gnarly it is.
Hi, I'm new in the world of the motorcycles and I want to buy one. Can anyone tell me the difference between the Suzuki Drz 125 and Drz125l?. I'm 16 yo and my height is 5.4, I'm short. THANKS!!
The Drz 125l has bigger tires so therefore the bike will be one inch taller than the regular drz125. I would recommend the drz125l if your riding woods it is better for rolling over small logs because of the bigger tires.
He looks to be about 15-16-17 but if you want some preference on how big the bike is, the seat is 32 inches I believe.. so perfect for people who are 162cm or around that height.
Like 45 to 50 depending on your cigs or gearing but it's enough for the size. Especially on the smaller trails. I love it, I zip through trees all the time and it climbs pretty good
With stock gearing, top speed is approximately 47mph. On woods trails, single track, or pit bike mx tracks, top speed doesn't matter, you'll probably never get to fifth gear anyway. Stock gearing is perfect for single track trails, woods riding, etc.
Yes, I have one and I can tell you, it is an Excellent bike! The handling is incredibly good. The bike is very light weight, and the seat height is medium, not too high and not too low, just right. The ground clearance is also very good. The suspension is superb for a bike like this, really really good suspension. The brakes are also superb, great feel on the front disk and it's strong. The rear brake is a drum but it is very strong, but not grabby, perfect feel. Engine power is pretty soft, but it does have decent low end and mid range torque. The gearing is low, but it's good for trails. It will climb very steep hills, I've done it a lot.

I've been looking at these of and TT-r125 and i want to know if it would be a good bike to get after getting used to riding and starting on a TT-r90.
I think you should go to your local dealer and check out the DRZ 125 for size and fitment and yes I think its a good step up from the TTR 90.

Are these better than hondas 125s
Honda is 4 speed with efi, Suzuki is 5 speed w/ carburetor.
Is the 2021 Suzuki drz LM 1 down 4 up or 1 down 3 up
1 down 4 up

Definitely the 250 I'm 5,9 and ride a 360 Husqvarna wmx at 135ish pounds. I had a 125 and its definitely not alot of power unless your just starting riding or want to screw around on it
The Topshelf Company probably get this and get confident then find a 250
220lbs is probably too much for this bike. Go with a 250 or a full-sized 125 mx bike.

If you're asking seat height:
KTM SX 125 -- 37.4 in.

Suzuki DR-Z 125L -- 32 in.
