- The Nutella Cafe opened last year in Chicago, but now NYC is getting a dose of that Nutella-y goodness! The cafe opened in November and features a variety of menu items drizzled with Nutella spread. The cafe also features workshops where people can learn how to incorporate healthy amounts of Nutella into foods they already love, and includes a shopping corner where customers can purchase Nutella-themed merchandise.

I love Nutella but a lot of people don’t know that it is made with palm oil. In fact one of the top ingredients is palm oil. And palm oils is from a tree in the rainforest that gets cut down and is home to orangutans and many other animals. Palm oil is used in Nutella, other Hazelnut spreads, and some peanut butter brands and the way they get the palm oil is by burning trees. When trees are burned they release a tonnn of Carbon Dioxide and CO2 is not good for our atmosphere and it is a huge factor that is causing climate change. We are killing our plant for an unhealthy spread? We don’t need Nutella. The amount of Nutella in this video and the amount of people lined up makes me sick because I know none of them are educated on how the mass production of nutella is a factor in the burning death of our environment, especially the endangered animals that are going extinct because of our bad decisions. Those animals (orangutans as an example) are beneficial for our environment and if they go extinct the whole ecosystem would come crashing down! This news needs to be spread and we need to stop killing our planet. No shame to the producers of this video and this video but I think people need to be educated on this. I didn’t even know what palm oil was till around a few months ago but once my family and I were educated we cut it out completely. Cutting out palm oil products is a step in the right direction to a cleaner planet just as if you were to bike or walk instead of using carbon emitting vehicles. Every little step in this direction counts. Please inform people about the impact palm oil has on our environment!❤️

I believe actually the palm oil used in Nutella is now 100% RSPO certified sustainable so it's the best palm oil that can be found for the environment, better alternatives are needed for sure though!

In my country they also sell nutella granizado which is kind of a milky frozen drink. It's similar to a milkshake but more like a slushee. Granizado is traditionally coffee flavored but there are also fruit flavored versions that are water based. The nutella one is sooo good i tried it recently

People talking about palm oil don't even know that Ferrero produce the oil in a safe way for the environment. Other types of oils aren't sustainable in the world we live... it would be worst if we produce only (for example) olive oil because it takes too much space and it has different properties.

a lot of people are replying to the palm oil comments saying stuff like “they won’t stop making it if i stop eating it it’s not use” but that’s not just entirely the point, people stop because spending your money on buying nutella means that you support them and their practices, people stop buying and eating nutella because they don’t agree with the way they do things. obviously one person stopping consumption of nutella won’t make that big of a difference but eventually if the number of one can increase to a thousand, a hundred thousand, a million, a couple million, more and more people will become more aware of the issue, the makers will start to see the problem and try to correct it, and eventually we might be able to come to a solution that can make nutella coexist with our ecosystem. it’s not just about “they’re not the only country that has destroyed rainforests” or “that won’t make a difference” it’s about whether you support them or not and making more people aware of the issues so that other companies that have the same practices can change too. ah shit this is the longest comment i’ve ever made
