- Chip, the New York cookie company with a cult following, is so popular it's opened three stores in two years. Its cookies have even been eaten by Jimmy Fallon and Whoopi Goldberg on "The Tonight Show." Now, it's opening its first Manhattan storefront location. Producer Lisa Paradise went on opening day to talk to people in line and see the new West Village location. The goo-filled cookies are baked on-site daily and include traditional flavors as well as specials like peanut butter and jelly, cinnamon roll, and s'mores.

I wonder if ppl in America are not used to cooking/baking by themselves, so they rather wait for 3 hours and pay a fortune. Or if it's that delicious & difficult to replicate. Personally I am a hobby baker and I believe it cant be that difficult.

They are just regular cookies tbh . nothing special . ive had like 6 different kinds so far... They arent worth half what thwy charge and they are never worth a 15 minute wait. Usually my sister just grabs them and I try one .. Of never pay that much for a cookie.

She likes pb&j but not pb&j flavored things, like how people like bananas but not banana flavored things or grapes but not grape flavored things. It’s because the artificial flavors make it taste different than the actual thing so they don’t like it (side note”fun fact: banana flavorings taste so different from actual bananas because the artificial banana flavoring is actually based on a now extinct form of banana that was sweeter and tasted more like the artificial banana flavoring of many candies ( although not the same cause it’s still artificial lol))

That was exactly what I was thinking. Grape Jelly is a dead give away. The cheapest Jelly you can buy commercially. Which isn't surprising because it was two guys out of business school with zero baking experience and just wanted to make them BIG.
They don't look bad if you said they were scones or muffin tops, but they don't look like cookies.

Naturally the center is going to be undercooked, which the dough then doesn't taste like the extra sweet kind at home. It tastes like... Dough.

These cookies are heavenly. Once you have one, you’ll pray for the next time you’ll have two! There is no comparison, they melt in your mouth, moist and chocolatey, gooey and so delicious. The cookie part is so good, I sometimes eat the cookie all the way around before attacking the gooey part. It’s all good!

So, I can personally tell you that these cookies are freaking delicious. I've had almost everyone that they've made and I might like the apple pie one the best but it's hard to compare.

@HDStudios nope time is money, and money is time. So whatever a restaurant charges for food, you need to also add in wait time. If you make let's say 20-30 an hour at work, and you spend 3 hours waiting in line you just spent 60-90$ worth of time, add that to the cost of whatever you're eating and you'll realize you could've bought the shit yourself and made it yourself for half the money any time.

The chocolate chip looks like a knockoff of Levain. Probably directly inspired. The rainbow cookie looked intriguing, though. Pretty at least. I don't know why anyone would want to eat a giant cookie that "doesn't even taste like a cookie, it tastes like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich." If I'm going to eat a 700 calorie cookie it had better taste like a delicious cookie, not a damn sandwich.
I hope they serve regular size cookies as well. I would split a cookie. They could serve these giant cookies by the slice, like a pie.
I dont know what I'd rather do: fly from LA to Houston, or watch a Lord of the Rings movie. Either way, i will beat my friend waiting in line for 3 hours for that cookie.

Expansion? I'd love to have one of these near Detroit! It's my dream to open my own bakery one day. Working on my 2nd retirement now. My bakery will be my legacy I leave to my family. I love to bake. My mom left me tons of special recipes. Lord willing it will happen one day

These cookies are legit, chewy and soft with a nice crisp outer layer. Used to go every week to try all there flavors and since they change flavors everyday. Been awhile, think it’s time to go back
