Lydia Blaney thank you!! Just found out the insurance company my dad's palm is under is a subcompany of Harvard Pilgrim so they have different plans and they don't cover transgender care as of this year. So that throws a wrench in my plans but I've got a new youcaring page set up and hopefully start fundraising once they send me a quote for the cost of self paying for it.

I was looking for Richard Bartlett of Matrix Energetics so this was very confusing. I didn’t know what you were talking about at first. I thought you were born a dude cuz I would never think you were a female. Good luck to you!

Does Bartlett require a letter from a therapist?

Technically yes if you are going through insurance, the insurance company requires it. I was able to find a therapist to meet with me for two sessions so that she could write a letter for me.

Hey man! If this is too private, then don’t feel reassured to answer but how much did you end up paying for surgery with him? I heard a rumor that someone said that he charged a $2500-$5k fee that wasn’t covered by insurance. I’m just curious because that’s obviously way to much money to not be covered. Thank you for the help!

Arvella Dragonstorm the fee you’re talking about is the “cosmetic” fee. It was $3000 for me I think. The total for surgery was $9800. My insurance wouldn’t cover any of it. Typically insurance will only cover the mastectomy portion and all the anesthesia and whatnot. Having the nipple grafts created and placed in a more male location is considered to be “cosmetic.” They explain it all to you at your consultation. I don’t remember it all now as it’s been almost 3 years since my first consult with them. That cosmetic fee is pretty typical of any surgeon you go to, from what I’ve heard anyway. I hope that helps!
