We mow a LOT, and generally accumulate 35-40 hours per lawn-mowing season, and change the oil & filter each year. Our ZT-1-50 has a Kawasaki engine. The hydrostatic wheel drives are not designed to be owner-serviceable, you have to move up to the ZT-2 series for that, but there are TH-cam films that show the DIY'er how to overcome this situation.

I decided I needed more exercise and I sold it and bought a Ryobi 40 volt push mower. Seriously though, even with that, I could mow my front yard in 15 minutes. It's very small. The Toro would do front and back in 20 minutes tops. After all that I had a fall at work and tore the meniscus in my knee. well surgery and arthritis has me out of walking my yard for even short periods of time. So.
